Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Migidoll General Discussion, Pt. 4

Jun 1, 2015

    1. @Astro Sadly I can't help other then to say it looks like he just wasn't that popular here. He was released spring of last year so anyone who ordered him should have him by now. Migidolls wait time is about 3-4 months.

My Enzo head in sugar white arrived about two weeks ago. The head is small, and while it was advertised on the 68cm body I think it looks to pin headed for that body. It looks better on a 65cm body, which works for me as I'd always planned on putting it on a smaller body anyway.

MD's sugar white is similar to Switch's rose white, but a tad bit more yellow. But, with a faceup you'd probably hardly tell the difference.

    2. @Cloudedmind looks like it T_T I found a few on Twitter thanks to a friend's help, and it looks like I'll probably have to reach out to the Korean side of things if I want to try to find one. If anyone's curious and wants to see more:
      https://twitter.com/search?q=머큐리 미기돌&src=typed_query&f=top

Any idea what their limited heads usually go for second hand?

I've heard that MD's Sugar white is really similar to Volks WS, which would be an easy enough to find or get a company to match.

    3. @Astro Unfortunately, I don't. You can search for sold Migidoll heads through the archived sold dolls thread and maybe get an idea. Also, MD sugar white is significantly lighter then Volk's white. I'll try to get some pictures this weekend to compare MD sugar white, Volk's white and Switch rose white.

    4. @Cloudedmind Thanks so much, I'm looking forward to seeing how they compare.
I think most of the heads sold here were more standard, so it was a little hard for me to gauge the price.
I don't think I'll find one in WS in the English speaking market, so I'm hopefully one will pop up elsewhere. I figured I'd have to send parts or a paint chip off to be color matched anyway since I don't particularly want a Migi body for it, so I don't mind it being lighter.

    5. @Cloudedmind Could you post your Enzo head? I think mine was lost in the mail and I want to see what I missed. :(

    6. I was able to find a SW Mercury head already :D The only recent WS I have to compare to is from Volks, but at least that's a nice enough baseline for me to work from.
I'm looking into getting a Vings 68 body for it whenever they have their next preorder, so I'm especially interested in seeing how Migi's SW compares to Switch's Rosy White now as they can cast the body in that color.

    7. @Astro OK, so here are some resin comparison pics of the sugar white with Switch's rosy white. I also included Volks pure skin white and Illusion Gardens lace white.

From left to right going clockwise; IG lace white, Volks white, Switch rosy white, and MD sugar white.

The sugar white is a lot lighter than Switch then I original thought when I first compared them, probably a lighting difference. The lighting in this picture is a mix of daylight from a window and a flash light being bounced off my ceiling.

@GRtoMost Hopefully your Enzo has arrived by now, but if not here are some pictures. Sorry for being so late.

    8. @Cloudedmind Thank you so much, this is really helpful! A friend found me Switch RW/Migi SW hybrid yesterday evening and the match was almost perfect, I wonder if there's that much variation between resin batches? I do think Migi being lighter works out a little in my favor since in my case, it's the head, and blushing will probably blend it in well enough. May I ask what year your Switch RW and Migi SW is from?

Depending on which body I go for, I'll either have to settle for Switch RW as I don't think the company offers truly custom matches, or will send the headcap in for custom casting to ensure a better match.

    9. @Astro The Switch head is from 2019 and Enzo is from this year.

I took a few more pictures, this time with my phone.

    10. @Cloudedmind Thank you so much! I think I'm going send my head to my friend who has the Vings body I'm most interested in + has some 2021 switch WS they can compare it to to see how it matches on both fronts. Switch certainly looks pinker in both sets of photos though /)_(\

Vings also offers white resins from Volks, Little Monica, Luts, Soom, Loongsoul, Dollmore, Dearmine, and Dollzone, so in the off chance that anyone has both Migi Sugar White and any of the above companies' white resins from the past year or two, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could compare them for me!
(other than Volks, I tested that myself! The match isn't good IMO, but it's better than I was expecting. Bad phone pics in worse lighting, if anyone's curious. I think Volks and Migi whites are about the same brightness, but Volks' resin is yellow toned while Migi's is more pink. Volks' resin is also more translucent, which makes it seem a little darker than it actually is.)

    11. @Astro Which Vings body are you interested in? I have both. I have the 70cm with the 11.5cm neck and the 68cm with the 10.5cm neck. Neither are in a white resin though.

      • x 1
    12. I'm interested in the 68 with the 10.5cm neck! I've seen Mercury on the 68cm Migi body and the proportions are alright. The Vings 68 is a lot slimmer so I think it'll look a lot better!
I'm looking for a very slim 65-68cm body for my head, and my top contenders are the Vings 68 and the new Doll Family H 68. The DFH 68 II is honestly a little too muscular for what I'm looking for, but the option hands are beautiful and the fact that they offer custom coloring is a huge draw. The Vings body is just so beautiful though, and the exact aesthetic I'm looking for.

    13. Hi all! I promised @Sianserais a quick review of the Grace63 body now that mine has arrived. I'm hoping to get a chance to take some better photos this weekend if the weather cooperates, but in the meantime here's a quick phone snap:

[IMG]Grace63 Posing by Dollish Gambino, on Flickr

The body is really nice. I'm super pleased! I was worried I might find the proportions a little too extreme compared to my other girls, but I feel like overall she's nicely balanced. She can stand unaided easily (depending on the shoes), and I'm super excited about how her arms pose. I wish the male bodies' elbows were engineered the way hers are. Her legs have double jointed knees, which is unusual for dolls with heel legs in my experience. Her mobility joint in her thighs swivel and have a small lock, and there's also a lock if you want to pose her pulling her legs to her chest like in the photo above.

I snapped a few more photos (sorry for the lighting/slight lense distortion) which you can find here: Migidoll Grace63 Posing

    14. @mustbemissa - Thank you! I'm curious about the knees, but even with that bit of a gap it looks pretty good, considering! Definitely still on my list of possibilities. Did you get the flat-feet too, or just the heel legs?

    15. Just the heel legs! I don’t often use the flat feet on my other bodies, I’ve found

    16. I sent my WS Mercury head to @Constance to try on her Vings 68 body (it's a great match!!). She was also sent a Switch WS head by a friend of hers, and Constance was gracious enough to take a bunch of comparison pics for me! I've compiled them into one image:

As Constance pointed out to me, the difference between colors is only super apparent when you're looking at the inside of the headcap. I can hardly tell the difference between Migi and Switch when zoomed out. When zoomed in I can tell a little, but if you're working with a Migi head on a Switch body, the color difference should even out with a faceup.
DF-H looks like a perfect match to Migi at a glance, but when you put them side-by-side it's way brighter and lighter.

Another friend sent me this photo, which is their friend's WS Switch head on a WS Migi body. I think they're both from within the past year or two.
      https://twitter.com/elwingmanim/status/1453689178252722178

I also confirmed that Doll Family H can match to Switch's 2021 Rosy White, which is great because I've decided to try their new 68cm body for my head. The extra hands and feet and jointing pushed me over the edge towards their new body, even though I still think the Vings silhouette is perfect. I didn't ask if they could match directly to Migi, as I knew the 2021 Switch match was very close and felt that if for some reason the body didn't work out for me that it will be much easier to sell if it matches Switch as opposed to Migi >w<

    17. @Cloudedmind He's so sweet! A bit wider, flatter faced than what I had planned, but the vibes are immaculate for the character.

While mine has not been found, things are at least looking up - Migidoll has said that if the package is not found soon that they will cast me a new one and resend him! What lovely customer service.

    18. @GRtoMost It's to bad your still hasn't shown up, but it's great that MD is going to send you a new one.

Yeah Enzo has a rather round baby face, which means he's just perfect for the sinister character I plan on creating for him. What body were you thinking of putting yours on?

    19. I was thinking the Spiritdoll Elegance body? There's only a 1 cm neck difference, It's a cute body without defined abs, and because it's Spiritdoll I can be cheeky and get the additional parts. :whee: It was really hard to find a body I liked that didn't have abs; most boy bodies either seem to have an eight-pack or are very childish. I just wanted something kind of slim, and preferably with defined ribs! I'd also looked at the current Dollzone 62cm body, because it's so delicate, but the neck difference would make him look so bobbleheaded!

    20. You might want compare Awesome Body vs. Spiritdoll Elegance measurements very carefully, the Elegance body is actually quite small and I suspect the measurements given for it are off. I've owned one previously and I have another in the mail and can take some photos and measurements for you compared to a normal 65cm doll when it arrives, if you'd like! If it arrives before I send my Mercury's headcap off for matching, I can put him on it for you as well.
They say it's 62cm tall but it can't be, I think it's 60cm or shorter with a head on it. It's shorter than an SD13 and has slim shoulders, so the scale might be off for a doll meant for the next size class up. I do think Enzo looks a little small for the Style 68 body's neck and shoulders though, so hopefully it's a match? I got mine for a really tiny 2D Doll head that's just below the edge of being too big for it.

That all said, it's a great body. I sold the one I had because NS didn't match the doll I bought it for, and then immediately turned around and ordered one that was color matched because I liked it so much.
