1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Migidoll General Discussion, Pt. 4

    1. I’m so excited I ordered my Jina head a resinsoul 72cm body. I really wanted him to be tall and I tried the head on the resinsoul bodies I have at home and I liked the proportions and how the head fitted on the bodies. I decided to go with the traditional body because in my opinion Jina baby face looks awesome with abs LOL. God willing the body will be ready in 45 days according to resinsoul.

I also tried the head with every single resin body I own (only five :p) in case someone is interested and looking to make a hybrid using a Jina head. Here a link to my Flickr album Shun

Here is my Shun in a 72cm resinsoul muscle body :)

    2. Random picture because I just thought he looked good.

The wig is temporary, his name is literally cloud so I want his hair to be lighter. I'm looking for something white or grey or blue or teal but still can't decide.

    3. @GRtoMost, congrats on your Enzo!! Glad he made it safely.

@ninive, your Jina is so soft and cute!

    4. My Shun got his wig. I’m still waiting on his body.

    6. @mustbemissa His so gorgeous. I love the way you style him :)

My Shun finally got his resinsoul body with jointed hands. I been having a lot of fun with his jointed hands. Resinsoul white is not a good match with migidoll white. It looks good in pictures but in person you can see the difference. Migidoll is pinkish white and resinsoul paper white. So God willing I will send the head to get a face up and be resin match soon.

Here is Shun showing his abs :)

    8. Thought I'd pop in here to show my Ryu. I just put him on an SD13 body from the same year as him— perfect match thankfully. I like him so much better now. I think I didn't realize how ehh I was about his previous body.

    10. Congrats on the new body @chataignon! That match looks really good. I was thinking about "upgrading" my own Ryu's body and then I realized his previous owner never told me if he was Volks or Lati matching WS. :doh I suppose there's probably no way of telling now without having a 2009-ish WS Volks or Lati doll in my hands to compare.

I know a lot of people don't mind to cheap out on bodies, but a well designed body is one of my top priorities for a doll now! It makes a world of difference.

    11. @nyaaain Yeah, that's tough if you don't know what batch you have.

I'm really happy with my boy— in person I can't even see a difference in tone. Plus, I had the added bonus of waiting so long that the price of secondhand sd13 bodies went down, actually making it very affordable. I know other people tend to prefer double jointed bodies these days though.

Now I'm going to enjoy upgrading clothes/eyes/wigs for him as well.

    12. I have a question about Migi's resin texture! When I got my Mercury in, I was surprised at how toothy and comparatively rough his resin is next to every other doll head I've handled.

Did this pose a problem for any of you when you or another artist painted your heads? The artist I want to commission to paint him has availability and I'm not sure if I should send him as he is or give him a light surface sanding.

    13. I don't think it needs sanding at all, specially if the texture already offers some tooth for painting. I paint my own dolls and it never bothered me, quite the contrary. It will probably make it easier to build color :)

    14. I had someone paint mine. And she never mentioned that it is a problem. Frankly I didn't notice. XD

    15. Thanks you two! I think it's probably safe for me to not have to sand it, then!

Edit: I wound up having to sand it after all. The texture was uneven in places and when photographed with a macro lens there was a spot that was clearly not going to take pigment well due to marks in the surface.

    16. Any of you own any Cho girls? I'm tossing the idea around of making my Cho a girl, but I only ever see boy Cho! :/

    17. Cho boys are the most common, but there is no reason for you not to try a Cho girl. Most sculps are very neutral and can work as either depending on the faceup.

    18. Why not? With the right fact up, Cho can be a girl I'm sure!

    19. Just purchased a 2006 NS Volks SD-13 body for my 2016 (2015? I can no longer recall) NS Mu head and I have probably unrealistic hopes that the resin will match, but very realistic expectations ahaha. At the very least, I hope the resin colors will be at least somewhat similar, so maybe I can do some light blushing to match. If not, well. High collars and long sleeves? XD I just want to bite the bullet on a dang body so my Mu won't be a floating head indefinitely.
