Thanks Blablette - i am very smitten with her. She is very different to my other dolls and i love that diversity to my collection. I have had a long time to think about how i would style my own Dandelion - i know how i want to style her, i just hope i can bring it to fruition. I will be going for a look that really emphasises her eye shape. I want the shaping of her top lid to stand out, so i will be concentrating on shadowing and deepening her eye socket to accentuate this. I will probably leave the top lid unlined, and bring more colour to the cheek and lip area. I have decided to omit putting her eyelashes back on too. I am itching to start her but the weather needs to improve first
Thanks for the kind words @Saraht & @Blablette I always had it in my head to go with the more mature look. I think I was inspired by some commentary I had read from Bimong about the sculpt. And at the moment the more "outgoing" twin hasn't told me her name yet. I'm going to try and maybe whip up some quickie outfits for them this weekend. @Saraht - I also love the natural look of Makiko. I love the eye shape as well and truly is one of my favourite features of the doll. I can't wait to see the outcome of your vision. Is that dress standard MSD or 1/4 size by the way? It's super cute.
Her eye shape is sooo lovely on this sculpt and is my favourite feature too The dress is standard msd sized and was made for a Kaye Wiggs doll and fits her perfectly. It's funny that the dress fits her so well, yet stood side by side with her - my Kaye Wiggs dolls head dwarfs, the more petite featured Dandelion!
Omygaaaawd! all your conversation about Dandelion's eyelids opened my eyes (pun not intended) about what irked me in the faceup I made... It's the eyelids that seem to dissapear when there is eyeliner... Well, the faceup is wiped and she waits for a better one... gah! ^_^
My Dandelion is still waiting for her new face-up but had fun trying on a new style of clothes - a more baggy style!
My dandelion. Getting used to how large her hands are but really love her. Shea by Rosemarygirl, on Flickr
Wow, your Shea is stunning Rosemarygirl! Did you do her face up or was it commissioned?. Such beautiful eye colouring. I was scared of using colour on her eyes in case it took away from her eye shape too much but I can see that it doesn't. Do you mind me asking where you got her top from? My Kaye Wiggs clothes fit her in the main, but I am keen to find other clothing that fits her too.
Here is my Dandelion with her finished faceup: My little space girl with no name... by blablette1, sur Flickr For the clothes, any msd clothes will fit, but MNF clothes (trousers and such) might be too tight. I'll have a look when I have some more time on my hands.
You have done a great job on her Blablette! Her freckles must have taken you ages. The strong lip colour that you have given her works so well against the contrast of her neutral eye make up. This sculpt really doesn't need much eye make-up to be beautiful. She has a strong sense of presence - I think she will be even more striking in the flesh. I may have to think about getting my girl some more exciting eyes!
Awww, thank you for your compliments! ^_^ The freckles are not so tedious to do, I make them with the toothbrush method, but I did several layers of watered down colour for them to look natural and to give texture to the skin. And you're right, this sculpt doesn't need a lot of eye makeup! That's why I went crazy with her lips!!! ^_^
Hi guys! I'm adoring your Dandelions! I have been pining for her for literally years........I had no idea that they were still being sold, and they were apparently on SALE not long ago?? What company sells them? Do they seem reliable? Any idea if they do layaway? Please post lots more pics, I just love looking at her, especially in the many different ways you all have expressed your vision for them! Roni
Thanks She is adorable Blablette. She has such an 'edgy' and contemporary look, yet is understated at the same time. I just love her!
Here goes.... I am so pleased with her. Her lips are darker than i was anticipating, but i bought the character out i wanted I am going to keep her eyes for now as I think that they work much better now she has her final face up.
Awww, she's so beautiful! You've done a great job with her faceup! I love how you've faceupped her eyes an her mouth. The dark lips suit her! And thank you for mine! ^_^
Thanks Blablette! I am thrilled with how her face-up came out. I was so nervous doing her. I nearly wiped her lips, but remembered how lovely yours looked and so left them be. I am so glad i did, as when she is dressed in her Kimono, and not in the lighter pink clothing they really work.
