I adopted an older v2 Mindulrae (I'm thinking she's the same as the current Bimong version) and she fits pretty well into Iplehouse JID clothes. At present she's wearing the rustic outfit pictured on the IH LE Asa - the knit cap, dress and little vest fit well. The JID Brownie Set went on OK, but since Mindy is a little girl it was a little sloppy on top. My girl is wearing loose thigh-highs and Mary Janes made for Tonner's 16" Hermione, which fit beautifully (and still available from DollChris on eb*y - hope it's ok to say that). I'll try the Boneka dress currently on my Wiggs Koneko; she has an immature body, too. I haven't compared the two yet. Have fun shopping!
devinyl - thanks I've got a couple of JID items here, I'll try them. I think the older Dandelion, at 38cm, is smaller than this one at 41cm, and I'm guessing a bit bigger all over. OMG she's darling! I love her wig! And thanks so much for the comparison photo - I've been looking for one since I read that Bimong changed the bodies. I hope he keeps releasing them, gives everyone a chance to have her. BTW, mine is definitely the one on the left. What a difference between the two.
kkerrin - thank you, I love her and feel very lucky to finally have her (if you see, I started this thread ages ago, I've wanted her for a long time!) Bimong has said he's preparing another 10 sets of Dandelion, I love mine so much if I had the money I'd get her a twin But I have to control myself and buy her some clothes instead!! I tried on the JID stuff, the jeans fit her well once I've persuaded them over her feet, and one top made of stretchy material fits well too but a more fitted dress doesn't fit at all, her hands are big and her arms must be chunkier than the JID's. I'd forgotten I had the JID stuff as I'd put it on oneside as I no longer have a JID. I've also bought her a knitted jacket from etsy from Maram Banu that is JID sized, thanks for the suggestion that it might fit her.
Now that Bimong is selling dolls again perhaps this thread will pick up more followers. I just picked up a Dandelion body and now trying to find a head that will work. They list the head at 19cm and finding that size head is not easy. I did order a dica doll head that is 18.5 and we will see if that is close enough to work. If anyone has added a different head to this body..please let me know. Or post some photos..Thanks, Jo
19 cm is 7.5 inches and that is in the standard MSD range. What is the body color and company? I am in the process of dressing my girls for a picture.
Actually my narins have much smaller heads and bodies so they do not work with my SD dolls. But Dandelion with a larger body and looks to be a child of 13 or so - works great with my larger dolls. I think this head (Supia Emma) is a little large for the body and the eyes are too large: and here is one of my Dandelions with my Soom fellow..they work together. So finding a head that works is not easy - at least not to my eyes.
Emma is an SD head. I think you need to find an MSD headfrom an old-style child like MSD not one of the new slim minis. If you have a D-Storic body, an old Custom House Junior head might be a good color match.
Has anyone found a doll the same scale as Dandelion? I would like to add another doll that size to my collections but most MSD are smaller and do not have that child look. Please let me know if you have located a doll with similar dimensions and would love a comparison photo. Thanks, Jo
I'm taking my Dandelion to a doll meet next weekend where I'm going to compare her to Dollstown and Kaye Wiggs dolls and see if their clothes fit. I have some pyjamas made for Kaye Wiggs dolls that fit ok.
Here is my Dandelion in her new dress made by a lady called Anne at the dolly meetup. It was intended for a Dollstown 7 and as you can see fits well apart from being a bit long. I also tried on a dress and a pair of dungarees made for Kaye Wiggs' Talyssa and they both fitted fine too. I feel more confident now in buying clothes for these two types of dolls and hoping they'll fit. They are close fitting across Dandelion's chest but still do up but I guess if a garment is very tight fitting it wouldn't do up. Dandelion by Kayjay1809, on Flickr
