1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Minimee Discussion

Sep 13, 2014

    1. I am searching for these JRock-minimees but it is so hard to find somebody who is selling one of the old heads or enough people who want theses heads again.
So if you are interested in one, let me know because I still searching for other collectors for the GazettE minimees ;-)

    2. Just putting it out there that a fantastic artist on IG was stopped cold by BHE, which is a seriously dangerous force to be reckoned with. (I was so sad...I really wanted a couple of those boys!!) I expect most labels are pretty protective of their music properties, so artists need to keep it way under the radar...

    3. I think it was the buyers innocently using the real names that alerted the music companies.

    4. As I understood it at the time, people were asked to keep quiet, and a few were...unable...to do so. Either way, it was a sad chain of events for the artist, and I'd be surprised if other artists who knew about it did not take the lesson to heart.

    5. What exactly is minime? Are they just sculpted to look like someone specific?

    6. Essentially, yes. Minimee was a service offered by the company "Doll in Mind".
You would send reference pictures of the person or character you wanted to one of their artists who would sculpt the head.
After going back and forth with tweaks and changes, you would eventually be presented with a prototype and once approved a mold was made to cast final versions of the head. The process was very expensive so many people would host group orders to help off-set the price of having the mold made.

    7. That's amazing! I didn't know that was even a thing. Do they still offer that service?

    8. No, but there are some indie dollmakers around that still make those kinds of heads, you'll find them poking around Instagram and Etsy. Other companies like Granado are also opening their own custom head services.

    9. Technology has also greatly improved, with the use of 3D scanning and software, heads can be near identical human-to-doll replicas.

    10. I'm curious if there is Chester Bennington minimee.

    11. i've had a minimee of myself for probably for eight years or more. my guilty pleasure is dressing my female doll as a grandpa outfit wise. when i first got her i bought dresses until i found a wide array of old guy slacks n sweaters n plaid shirts. pretty soon her whole wardrobe was stuff my grandpa would wear. i take pics of her people assume its a male doll. i also have a dimdoll minimee of johnny depp at 65cm . at the height of super dollfie popularity i had my illustrations of food put on tshirts and my manufacturer did such a great job . he cut around the image like a real hamburger was resting on his shirt.

    12. Hello I have a question I just recently got a minimee Andrew Lincoln head and wonder if anyone could point me in the direction of a body, I have been digging trying to find some info and haven’t found much . I have tried a EID male body an was way to big . Any help is appreciated

    13. That is a hard questions you got there. It will depend on who made the sculpt also; is it an actual DIM Minimee, or by another company/artists? A lot of the older (Chinese team) DIM Minimee are huge. I paid extra for a custom sculpted head sculpt I got from them, to make it much smaller than their usual work. Yet ,they made it as large as it was possible (by my standards of melon-headed-dolls). Was the head too big for the EID body, or the other way around? I find that all the MNM I own by DIM are too big, they would barely look proportionate on something as massive as an EID, but they would probably need to have their neck-openings widened by a whole lot and probably some additive mods on the nape area to work on those bodies.

I don't own a lot of BJD bodies, because I lost interest in purchasing any more a long time ago. I own a 67cm male body with a 12.5cm neck, and I find all my MNM heads too big to work for a neck that size. I don't own MNM by other companies or artists, so I can't give you any other suggestions if yours is not by DIM. There are a lot of older posts on here about which bodies people use for their MNM however. Some might work for yours. Although, if you are looking for a realistically proportioned body, with a neck that's the width of the jaw, then you'll probably never find one. Good luck regardless. (:

Sorry for the wall of text and any unnecessary ramblings, I should go to sleep at 5:30AM, but I can't. DX

    14. Thank you for the response , he has a 10cm neck opening and was way to small for the EID body he was sculpted by pezzini casted by haru casting in 2018.

    15. I'm not familiar with Pezzini, but from google it seems like they have sculpted mini-sized Minimee heads. 10cm seems like a really small neck, and I own dolls with 11.5cm that seem super thin for a larger doll. I would probably say that mature looking bodies that are male, will be hard to find with necks that thin. Unless you are looking for something more stylized, like Doll Chateau. You could look through dealers, and see which male bodies have 10cm necks. If you don't mind moding the head's opening, you can probably place the head on a larger body, depending on how deep and wide the opening is. Some heads just need to be placed on smaller bodies. It's probably not really helpful, but I don't believe there is a specific thread for Pezzini Minimee head sculpts on here. Good luck. (:

    16. @Ksherwood8713 Loongsoul has a 73cm body that can be ordered with a 10.5cm neck. I have one for a head that usually would need a 65cm body but I like the broader shoulders of the 73cm boy. You would need to widen the neck hole of the head though.

    17. Thank you for the advice :D

I have been digging for awhile now and haven’t found much either but have a long list of companies that the neck circumference should hopefully work. I have seen this head on a dollshe body and it’s not to terrible

    18. Hi, based on your info it is MNM head sculpted by pezzini for group order that was lead by member of russian bjdclub community in 2016-2018. I quickly checked the discussion thread and it seems that initially head was designed for Iplehouse SID body and neck, though some additional modding might be required to improve the movement range.
One of the participants from original order has her head planned for Soom SuperGem body.
Unfortunatelly I couldn't trace any actual owner photos for the completed doll.
