1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Minimee Discussion

    1. Now that is one gorgeous beard! Iron Man looks fantastic! (Very apropos tee, too) :D

    2. I've got one of the James Marsters heads from the group order and I have two that I requested solo that were based on Jin from Samurai Champloo. I don't know if those were DiM China or DiM Korea. I think they were Korea.

Okay, wow, I still have at least one email about the Jin heads. Made by Denny Kim in 2008 and the bank info is Korea.

    3. Ooooh, I would love to see photos of your Jin, I love Jin! Have you customized him? (:

    4. Glad you like him Sistercuervo. I have now got his arc reactor in and lighting up :)

    5. I love love to see Jin also, he is one of my favorite unemotional faces ever.

    6. Alas, no. I didn't have a body for the pair of them. They were meant to be the head for my chara Fenris, but then I had the incredible good luck to win a Bermann and that was my dream doll for Fenris. So these heads ended up in storage.

I did take some pictures recently and they can be seen here for those interested:

      and
Picture Folder for the second Jin Head

    7. That's a pretty interesting interpretation of Jin. Thank you very much for sharing the links to your photos, Surefall. (:

    8. Thanks for posting the links. Interesting sculpt.

    9. Glad ya'll enjoy the look see!

And yes, lol, my memory says that I asked that he be a little more frowny. So that part is all on me! =D

    10. Yesterday I got two of my boys home from my face-up artist, my first Gackt and my second Kaoru. Here is a quick pic of my Gackt Minimee, I'm in love with him.

    11. No wonder you love him Ereskigal your boy looks great.
I love seeing Sherlock SteamWitch. He is going to look so flamboyant in that frock coat :)
Your Richard II looks wonderful too Zauberer.

Here is a night pic I took to show Tony Stark's arc reactor lit up. Of course Loki just had to investigate it.

    12. Thank you :aheartbea

Oh Loki and Stark are looking great , they are perfect.

    13. Very late reply - but wow at that Richard II! He looks absolutely brilliant!

Gah - I do so love looking at mnm photos, since my tastes in bjd sculpts tends towards the more "realistic" end of the spectrum most of the time, they're generally lovely sculpts even when I don't know of the actor/character. The multiple Tony Starks that have come into their own recently are always fantastic; it's great to see how people are putting those arc reactors together!

Hmm slightly random thinking out loud question - was there ever a Peter Wingfield/Methos mnm back in the day/if it does exist any photos?

...He's got one of those types of faces that I'd always thought would make a fantastic bjd sculpt in a similar way to Benedict Cumberbatch's rather striking combination of features. (Well that and I'd love to see if anyone cobbled together a bronze age Death doll, or even the Four Horsemen!)

    14. There was a thread started for Peter, but only a few people wanted him and so it didn't happen.

    15. Aw - that's a shame! If I had the wherewithal to organize something like that I'd be tempted, even now however many years it's been since the show was in it's ascendancy! Still at least it means I won't be chasing after yet another grail, I've got more than enough on my plate right with my slow slow progress on Mr Bowie's body... (Tempting as the idea of multiple Methos' snarking is :sweat)

    16. Wonderful customs everyone! It's great to see what everyone does with their interpretation of popular characters/people.

I've modified most of my Minimees in the past, I've been thinking about modifying a few of them again but I keep putting it off because I don't want to repaint them. I suck at painting eyebrows so I dread the thought of having to paint them again. Here's my Sephiroth, whom I've been particularly obsessed with modifying again but every time I see his brows, I just step away from the head (white brows are a bigger pain in the arse for me).

      I also need to remake his wig, it's another pain in the gut that hair of his... T__T;;

    17. He is absolutely gorgeous :love

    18. Thank you very much, Ereskigal!

    19. Ereskigal, SteamWitch, Zauberer, Kavarr - I am really enjoying the photos of your dolls! They all look so happy and playful, you must be having a good time with your MNMs.

Enzyme, it feels like your Sephiroth has been around since I started collecting BJDs. It's amazing to see he's still developing …

      Another thing:
Does anyone remember the DIM elf event head (from 2008 or 2009?) ? Was that a Minimee of some character? I never know where to post pictures of my boy.

    20. Evie, I own two DIM MNM Sephiroth sculpts. One I got second hand, I believe it was the dreaming version of their Crisis Core interpretation.
The second is a custom I purchased myself privately (only two copies in the world). The one above is my custom head, got him in 2011. The one I got second hand
has been around since 2008, so that's probably the one you're thinking of. (:

I do recall DIM doing a few MNM event heads, I vaguely recall one of them being based on Cloud (FFVII) and I think maybe one on Link (TLo Zelda).
I might be mistaken however. They also made one for their MNM body, which was free with the purchase of the body. I saw a few photos on Flickr of
the Elf one but I don't believe anyone tagged it as anything other than a MNM. Good luck finding out who the head was based on. I tried looking in the news
archives here on DoA, but I didn't find anything (or maybe I didn't look well enough).
