Miracledoll Discussion Thread

Dec 24, 2013

    1. As of yesterday I am waiting for the new Long head. They say two months waiting time, so he should arrive around the same time as his body, an extensively modded Domuya Flexi. The OC has been a Migidoll Owen since 2009 but I saw Long and it was like, no, it's -you-. o.o

      I'm so excited!

    2. I hadn't seen Long yet! I had to look him up! He's got a great face, @Safira . I look forward to seeing your hybrid!

    3. Aw! How sad! I love my Vic.

    4. I thought I might bring up this thread by sharing my own (currently) deceptively innocuous-looking Vic, Allie:

He's on a WS AOD body with the neck sawed and sanded down. (I removed a lot of neck since I prefer shorter necks on my dolls) The WS match with AOD is near spot on, MD seems to be a little bit creamier in some lights but that just might be the heavy shading on the default face-up. Also, a note--AOD bodies, for whatever reason, are sold these days with the shoulder measurement listed as 12cm--it isn't. It's still 14cm. I guess they're just measuring the width on the torso, but ?????? (also please ignore the weird jacket I stuck him in for fun orz)

I will be in mourning permanently that these guys aren't being produced anymore for real

    5. Aw! Love your Vic, @Kaninchen ! I'm surprised they're discontinuing him. Not only is he a great sculpt but he seems pretty popular? If I didn't already have one, I'd be rushing to buy him!

    6. @Kaninchen , your Vic is AMAZING!! I love his faceup and the color match looks pretty great here :3nodding:

    7. I'm super excited about the new boy, Jing. He looks so pretty and I just want to turn him into some kind of sparkly cosmic character.

I've already attached a back story for him and everything just by looking at him. I can't believe I'm actually thinking about getting another doll when I have a few that I need to work on already. :sweat

    8. Tell me about it. I want to turn him into a girl and think with a little work......but yeah, that's a really great head. And I've got so many other things going on that getting a head and trying to figure out the body is....tiring to think about...but....I do want to support imaginative work from doll makers...

    9. I am also completely intrigued by Jing and after sleeping on it have come up with an automaton/alchemist character for him. He is so unique and beautiful. I am going to take the leap, but need to decide on what resin color to get. He will be a hybrid since I am hoping to put him on a little smaller body in the 63 cm range- if at all possible.

    10. I think you he might be able to pull off that size. And he'd look so cool as an alchemist.

He's so amazing and I woke up this morning knowing that I have to get him. I plan on buying him in white and putting him on a Doll Chateau body and he'd wear a lot of skin tight clothing.

    11. What do you think about that tiny neck on the DC bodies? Aren't they like 8cm?

Luckyl - I need to look at your doll list since you think 63cm is "smaller"!

Someone elsewhere said they didn't like the open mouth but suggested opening it up to put an eye in there. I'm considering the idea....

    12. Prince Monochrome,I thought about a Doll Chateau Body too, but how big would you have to go to get a 10 cm neck size? I am hoping to get a more versatile sized body that can be shared by a few different heads without going gigantic in height. I really love the way he looks in the WS too, but usually don't buy WS dolls because they seem to be a little harder to sell, if you choose. I would love to see him in the tanned skin and normal skin before I make my final decision...
dollhausen: Ha, Ha! It just seems like it is getting harder and harder to find mature looking bodies that are not 68-70+ cm anymore. I guess that must be a very popular size, but personally I prefer 60 cm or less. I know there is no way for me to find a suitable body that will have broad enough shoulders and a 10 cm neck in less than 62-63 cm so that is why 63 cm seems on the smaller end of the SD boy spectrum for me. The eye in the mouth idea sounds interesting and definitely creepy!

Does anyone know of a photo of a comparison of the miracle doll resin colors ?

    13. I think with a little bit of modding, the head would fit. He might look a little bobble headed but that's kind of the look I'm going for.

The eye in the mouth idea sounds really cool but I just love his little fangs. I think this doll has so much potential and there could be so many awesome mods with him.

      @Luckyl
I wish I could answer your question but I'm not very sure because I've never owned a DC doll before. I plan on going for a 70cm.
Though I do have another Miracle Doll and right now he's sharing a Ver.I 66cm Akagi Doll body. (The website says it's 66cm with the head). He's not as slender as a DC but his proportions aren't too bad. Though he may still be a bit too big for you.

    14. Yes, I have seen many successful hybrids with DC bodies. A big DC body would go really well with the delicate, strange Jing head.
I noticed those little fangs too! He has so many weirdly wonderful details that will inspire lots of us to let our imaginations run wild!
That is good to know about the Akagi body as a potential option. I am leaning towards going with white skin for Jing. He just looks so good and it makes all his details stand out.

    15. I have a DC Dolores and the neck is 8.5 and the head is 20.5cm and the Jing head is 22cm. The height is 72cm but that neck is .5 larger than the other male body. The doll looks good but the head is smallish. Since I'm going for a girl I'm thinking Spirit Doll or Sadol or something with a large neck.....and I'll be ordering the head in white....

    16. Jumping in on this thread as I am in awe of Jing! I was also considering him on the DC A03 body with all the extra joints, but I saw a Lestat head (his measurements are 21cm for his head with a 9.5cm neck according to Jeeryama on eBay) on one and it looked a little small but not too bad but it might work well without the extra neck joint. I'm looking to see which other bodies might work, even if I have to mod them extensively to get the look I am after it would be worth it :)

If it helps I saw the Lestat on Instagram when searching for miracledoll as a #tag.

    17. I'm also interested to see if there are any suitable girl bodies... While I was looking around, I noticed that the newer Ringdoll girl body (RTG-04) has a 9cm neck. I wonder how big a difference that centimeter makes. I'd prefer a shorter doll and I don't mind if she has a large head, since I have a few girls already in 9/10 wigs.

ETA: Hmmm, the Spiritdoll Elegance body has a 9.5cm neck... even better, assuming it would work.

    18. I guess I am jumping on the girl band wagon with everyone, because after contemplating my character some more, I have decided my Jing head will be a female automaton without a conventional body so I will be experimenting with that concept while I await the head arrival.I am pleased with the recent price reduction for Jing, they must not be getting many orders...:) I did ask in the news thread if they could show a photo of the head in the normal skin and tanned resin. I love the white, but WS dolls are really hard to match and the head may get a real resin body someday. I should have asked the representative at Stacy's Pink Ocean what are some resin matches for Miracle doll too while I was at it.

    19. I love that Jing head so much I ordered it as well. Sigh .. No idea what I'm going to do with it but it is just amazing.
