1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Mixed Sizes

Jul 23, 2011

    1. I don't mind mixing sizes as long as it makes sense and is aesthetically (and morally) pleasing for me personally. My MSDs are typically younger(14-16), while my SDs are closer to my age (18-21). There are exceptions on both sides though- I have an SD who's character is 16, and an MSD who's character is the same age. The MSD is mature though, both in face and body and will be paired with another SD as a couple. It works for her character to be a good deal smaller and shorter than his, and I see nothing wrong with posing them together so long as it doesn't look out of scale. My younger MSDs however, would be intentionally made to look childish next to the SDs should they be added to the shot, and everything would have to be done very carefully in regards to scale of props and such.

    2. I've just been dealing with this problem. My guy is 70cm and I spent a long time trying to find a girl that would seem in-proportion to him but I couldn't find one to fit her character. I eventually went with the doll that had the right sculpt for the character and she's a *very* slender 58cm but their heads are the right size for each other. She's supposed to be the shorter end of normal and he's just viking tall. Sitting down they look great together but I was really worried that standing up they look a guy with a child. Then my fiance showed me a picture of Shaquille O'Neal and his current girlfriend and I got over it. That real life height/size difference is more pronounced than my dolls so I'm just not worrying about it.

    3. I only have one male doll an RS Bao, mine aren't in relationships. Mine are maybe if anything sisters and brothers, mom's and kids. Most of mine are child like except RS Dai and RS Lan, my DT girls are little girls and so are my OT dolls.

    4. I'm a stickler for scale in my own collection. If the scale is weird, there's always an in-character reason. Like my one girl is 18 y/o, but on a BBB Mei body, though her 24 y/o sis is SD. The small girl has a mild form of Turner syndrome, hence she's very tiny.
