Modesty with your dolls.

    1. interesting for me its all about the character
by boy kozi wears long pants and long jackets but his charter wouldnt mind prancing about naked, so occasonally i'll put him in skanky outfits to fit my devious desires and a freak,
but along the lines of "why would you get a sculpt then cover it up with clothes?"
that actually really interested me till i realized im guilty of that too
i reallly wqant a minifee shiwoo i want to make him a crossdresser but i also want the muscule body
it makes no sense because it's always going to be covered up, but i still want it, i guess i dont have an answer to this one sorry!

    2. Some people are weirded out by dolly nudity because to them it's more than just a doll sitting there, it's a character, and unless you're on porn sites, at a nude beach, or are getting it on, most people don't get to see another person nude.

Even if you're one of the people comfortable with all stages of nudity, it's still nice to respect those that may be unnerved. The best way is to make sure people are warned about what they're going to view (and given a chance to decline), and taking them out naked into public is a big no no as well. :)

    3. Yeah I dress dolls depending on the personality but mostly I plan on making my dolls fantasy creatures. I dont really want my dolls to show a lot of skin though.

    4. Well, my dollie's naked right now, lol. Don't have any clothes for her. But the clothes she will wear will be long full skirts and loose tunics, so very modest. Doll nudity doesn't bother me, but in order to suit her personality, that's the kind of clothes she would wear.

    5. I don't mind doll nudity in the slightest. The only reason my doll tends to dress modestly at the moment is because I strongly dislike the body that she's on. If she was on a more aesthetically pleasing body, she would definitely less modestly dressed.

    6. Well I agree with u I think it depends on the dolls character though. I have one doll who hates to be undressed, I have one who's character is a stripper and tends to take his clothing off all the time...so I think it depends on the character of the doll and how its supposed to be portrayed...I have a boy doll who dresses as a female Aya loves short skirts dresses girlie tops and shoes so I dress him accordingly. I don't mind doll nudity or having them more clothed its all about the character and what is being portrayed for that character.

    7. I have a Unoa 2 that i airbrushed green... and i just can't bear to put real clothes on her. I just love the shading and sculpting on her chest! part of me is just afraid she'll scrape, but mostly I'm just a sucker for her look naked. I love the sculpting aspect of the dolls so much, sometimes i can't even bear to put a face-up on a doll because i love the way the raw sculpt looks!

    8. My girl runs around naked half the time because I love her pretty little body so much :]
Its out of character too, poor thing....

    9. I don't think it really matters, with a few exception. If you're going to a meet with young people in attendance, for example, and you bring in a doll wearing say, bondage gear and have some body blushing that looks inappropriate... I'd probably actually ask that you cover your doll some.

If it's in your own home? That's fine. If it's with a group of people who are comfortable with it? That's fine. Some people don't see the line between just nudity and something of pornographic nature, and that's when you have to defend yourself, and your right to dress your dolls as you like.

Personally I enjoy my boy naked or clothed-- but I leave him clothed because I have family and it would be awkward for someone to walk in on Louis without pants on him. That he even has a penis, even if it's not terribly detailed, was shocking to my family. lol

    10. Right now I have two almost nude young girls on my shelf :XD: It doesn't bother me personally, they are new and I just haven't made their clothes yet, but I think I would put them away or at least wrap them in a scrap of fabric if someone less familiar with my hobby was coming over ;)

    11. My girl is always running around showing some skin. She's very proud of her body and feels that by dressing sexily she'll garner more attention. As long as there are no age < 18 kids around, she's more than happy to go topless. She will put on more clothing for photoshoots or for winter cold. However, they had better be sexy clothes! :sweat

Is she right? I couldn't say. Does it suit her? For sure.

    12. A main part of my religion is more modesty that is usually excepted in contemporary society. I wear full length dresses, corset, bloomers, the whole nine yards. I will wear short sleeve shirts, but usually my cleave is completely covered up. I haven't been a follower of this religion for more than a year and a half, and even before then my dolls were very modest. I like them covered up to show the beautiful detail of their dresses, just like I do with my own. I feel they are so much more beautiful that way. It also helps to add to their realism when more joints are covered.

    13. My dolls are all dressed to match their characters or the weather or a theme.
One really doesn't like showing skin, one is barely wearing anything. ^^
Right now most of my dolls don't wear anything, though, because it's time for cleaning and restringing. :chocoheart

    14. I don't really mind what people dress their dolls in. I think what was strange about the main post was that it was states that showing off the body is the point Well, not to me. I have certain characters in mind. Sometimes they like to go around naked, and sometimes they don't. The point is up to the owner.

    15. I do have to disagree with the OP about clothes defeating the purpose. I might not be getting what the point of the statement was, but there are ways to dress that accentuate one's body without showing too much of it.

Keep in mind, I don't really care if someone keeps their dolly naked most of the time. My LTF runs around the house in her undies (or would, if she could run). Sure, if I went to a meetup I'd put her in some clothes. Not because I think a naked littlefee would be horribly shocking, but because I think it'd be kind of tacky.

    16. The only busty girl I own thus far is a volks dollfie (the small "barbie-sized" ones). She sometimes likes to dress to show as much skin as possible but, though it does serve to show off her beautiful body, I don't dress her like that all the time. I simply dress her to suit the varying aspects of her personality. I think dressing to show skin is fine as long as that's not the ONLY thing she ever wears. Girls do dress to suit their different moods, after all.

    17. Most of my dolls are mostly covered, because even though I love their sculpts, they wear winter clothing most of the time. Because I love winter clothing but our winter is non-existent. ...So I dress them in all the things I wish I could wear, but it's too hot to wear. > >'

    18. I love dressing my dolls from head to toe most of the time since most of the clothes I got them is more "conservative" but if the style I'm going for requires showing some skin I don't mind either.
However, I don't really think it's necessary to show off the body just for the sake for showing off the body though. It all depends on what kind of style you've got going for your doll.

    19. At the end of the day it's your doll, dress him or her how you like. If that puts someone off so be it as long as you enjoy it.

    20. I love admiring the resin and it's pretty too look at dress style of all variety (especially those with big busts. tee hee.) It doesn't offend me in the least to see skimpy dolls, but my own doll has a very modest personality, in her usual outfit, all that is exposed is her neck and her head. P:

Generally though, I like putting them in clothing that covered most of their joints since it gives them that more real look to me which I really enjoy~
