I bought an Akheilos head 2nd hand and was trying to find a body for it. Tried it on different ones.

I found the body of SJ 71Ath to be a nice fit. but the WI skin shade is too white. The head is the bigger size one and more of the yellowish shade.



Tho my head is suppose to be NS color it doesn't match Iple NS either.

here I got him on a NS HID body. Too bulky in my opinion.

I thought this may be helpful to someone. Plus I do like this head, but don't have a face up in mind yet.
I thought it would be cool to have someone carve a body with the scales that the torso bust had.

I just picked up Kyrin's head on auction. It's due here Monday. The faceup is a lot like the stock pics for the accessories but not quite as ornate.

I'm hoping the head fits on the female Spiritdoll body that I acquired with a Firson head. I like that head too but I want a girl doll head that looks more compatible with my hybrid boy's and the Firson head the eyes are so much bigger that they look odd together.

This doll has the same size eyes and I think could go either way gender-wise. I'm going to add a bit to this face up, feminize it a bit with more makeup so that he looks more like a she. It's a nice faceup to begin with though, I think.

I can find pics of Kiryn (Kirin? Kylin?) I've now seen it spelled all 3 ways on and off DOA? It's Kirin on the MW website on the pages for the doll's accessories but I can't find anything on the doll itself.

Anybody know the history on this doll? I see a lot about the Merman but not anything much about other dolls. I gather from the accessories and outfits that he's supposed to be part dragon? I would love to hear any backstory on that.

Here today, yay! Kylin with a "y" according to the inside of the head.

 

I decided to go digging on Weibo and Taobao to find out.

His Chinese name is 麒麟 (qi lin), it means "kirin". Moonlit Wonder officially spells it "Kylin" in English. A kirin is like the Asian version of a unicorn with some dragon traits.

Moonlit Wonder's Weibo has some photos of Kylin but not much history. The Taobao store has more info -- seems that Kylin had 3 releases, all head only. I couldn't find the product page for the first release, maybe there was none. Second release was in 2021. Third release was in April 2022. Resin colours offered were Volks white, Volks normal (second release only), Loongsoul white, Loongsoul normal, and Soom tan (probably tawny?), and Soom grey (second release only). He may have had options such as dragon horn option parts, custom faceup, and other things.

He has head circumference 21.5cm (8-9"), neck circumference 11-11.5cm, eye size 14mm - 16mm. Body suggestions are Volks SD17, Loongsoul68, Loongsoul73, so he should fit on similar bodies. He was shipped in an official branded box with CoA and birth certificate.

TY. That's about what I found before. I have the head with the box and COA. I was told it was the Volks white so that's what I will be getting body-wise in the next month or so a body to hopefully match that. Dragon Unicorn? That's definitely a new one. I think "he" is going to make the best "she" and I can't wait to get her on a body and dressed. I think I got real lucky with this head.
