If anyone asks, I just say it's 'more than 50' because it takes too long to count them (or list names). I currently have 7 dolls that are 60 cm and over. And one head on the way that is going to get a body next year. I have 9 that are in the 40/45 cm range. I have 23 (plus one on the way) that are in the 25/30 cm range. So that's the first 40 (soon to be 41). Where I really get confused is how many really small ones I have. There are so many of them, in so many different sizes, and they're not all on topic because some don't have the required number of joints. I also have a few floating heads. (PKF heads that I might get Lati bodies for at some point). I think the real surprise for me would be to count the 20 cm and smaller dolls I have, and the ones I have on the way, and the floating heads... I think I might have to say 'more than 60' from now on. LOL!!
Whenever someone asks me how many I have, I usually end up saying "eighteen full dolls and seven floating heads, because it's easier to get the head you want and buy a body later." So that means I have...oh wait, I forgot the boy I just got so he could share his body with one of my floating heads! That makes twenty six, not twenty five dolls when I count the two Shared Body Boys. Ryu
Yep...I started off wanting a maximum of four dolls, but I've quickly ballooned past that. Nowadays I still vaguely have it in my head that I have only six dolls, but actually I have eight complete dolls, four floating heads, and one headless body. Once those parts all come together my dolls will number in the double digits....yikes. I recently made a list of all the dolls I hope to own someday and it topped off at more than twenty. Uh, I'm hoping it won't end up like that, but then again I wasn't expect to ever have as many as I do now, so who knows, in a few years my entire room might be overrun by dolls.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who has ballooned past their initial expectations... I ordered one doll at the end of November, then another in December, and then another head. Once the head is complete I'll have two 65 cm boys and one 70 cm. Having seen several large dolls at my Phoenix meetup I know how big and heavy they are. NO MORE! I must keep reciting this mantra to myself. At least until the 70 cm boy is done...
