1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Most bizarre doll?

Mar 9, 2021

    1. @stellarphenomena , those are interesting! The sun one looks a bit like the bloody spinal column at first glance
I've seen some very nice bust stands from different companies and have been tempted, but haven't succumbed as yet.

    2. @phanuel: Yeah, I actually like them unpainted better. My favorite busts are Dream Valley's bird lady bust and Maskcat's one holding kitten.

    3. @stellarphenomena , yes, I was thinking of the kitten one when I posted, have to check out the bird lady.

    4. @flufficorn I just looked up Cirque de Fantome, and their dolls are a unique mix of bizarreness and beauty. I particularly like the Nekomata.

    5. Yes!!! So cute and weird!

    6. The Doll Chateau centaurs with human feet will always be the most bizarre dolls to me; I really want one, though. They’re baffling in just the right way!

    7. I agree. They have been around for so long they have become almost a normal thing, especcially with all the other wierdness in this hobby, but the very idea is truly quirky.
DollZone Renata was also realy something. That is the girl with the tree branch arms.

    8. I came here to say this. They've made a lot of weird centaur-type dolls, from deer to spider and scorpion- but the weirdest is definitely the first ones. They've just got longer torsos with extra human legs! It's weird!

      Cute, but weird.

Edited to remove the giraffe mention, that was Dream Valley.

    9. Naripon Toadstool is pretty...unusual.

    10. Doll Chateau has a new masterpiece of oddness, a hermit crab-taur with a detachable resin shell.

    11. I was expecting to be disturbed, but Beacher is surprisingly beautiful! I kind of want her now, but I don't have the money and I don't know what I would do with her.

    12. I honestly feel like it's a good thing that DC'd dolls cost as much as they do, otherwise I'd probably have a menagerie of their oddness! I do like Beacher (but not enough to buy her), and I love that they gave her the little hermit crab body and removable shell.

    13. I used to have hermit crabs for pets and I am so tempted to buy Beacher! She's so cute!! :D I love the fact her shell is removable!

    14. I honestly have never been able to live with the conjoined twin body that Doll Chateau released pretty early on in the game. The faces are fine!! But that body just gives me anxiety. *_*

    15. I think my Nihilum Dolls Cusp is my most off-the-wall BJD — even her tongue is posable!
The newest doll Nihilum released, Daughter of Ea, is also unlike anything I’ve ever seen but she’s so compelling. I wish I could keep one in a nice little aquarium.

    16. She's incredibly cool! I love how her joints have been engineered!

    17. That Pisiyn from Mezendoll? :nowords: The one that is a phallic shape... It kind of scares me but I would get one for the giggles. Or to scare the house guests.

    18. Dolly Planet is full of bizarre dolls, especially the Ex Machina robots and the resin busts! Doll Chateau and Miracle Doll have made some strange creatures as well.

    19. Creepy grotesque vampire dolls. The one that has an open bloody mouth with vampire fangs gives me nightmares. Also there is a doll which is just a spine skeleton with a torso attached. That doll is beyond creepy. WHY??? I don't understand the appeal.
Also some of the Doll Chateau and Doll Zone dolls freak me out a little. But they are more artistic than the ones that are just plain gross.

    20. Pretty sure the spine ones you are thinking about are "Moon" and "Star" made by Dollzone, though. ;)
