Most yellowed doll

Jun 14, 2021

    1. My SDC Kurenai is the banana in the bunch. I’ve had her the longest and she spent a few years in the South Carolina sun so she’s got a … tan. She’s the one in the bunny hat here. Definitely more yellow than the rest.

    2. I picked up a B-el from Dollyteria a couple years ago. No idea how old he is but he's got some age on him for sure.

    3. My WS Heliot from Soom aged horribly. Honestly, banana yellow— or lemon yellow. It put me off WS dolls for a long time.

    4. Personally I think it gives character to them :)

    5. Haha, I love this thread. Most of my dollies are nice and mellowed yellowed~

    6. I definitely like the way some of my other dolls have yellowed. He's probably my only exception hahaha.

    7. Remember when some of the first tanned dolls turned green?

    8. does anyone have pictures of these????

    9. I have an Angell studio doll who has yellow hands. They are practically neon. They rest of her isn’t that bad at all. I got her second hand, so I just always assumed she was in her fullset but her hands got direct sunlight

    10. Spirit Illusion Gino, When I received him he was super yellowed. . Bought him second hand but with out me actually knowing he lived in a smokers home so the yellowing was in part from nicotine ‍♀️‍♀️ I know this because when I received him the smell was strong! Anyhow, I managed to clean most of the yellowing with oxyclean. Not perfect but ended up really nice.

    11. I have an old Peakswoods Briana whose original Tan skin has definitely developed a greenish tinge where she was exposed to the light (her face in particular.) I purchased her like this second hand with every intention of correcting it with a bit of judicious blushing. But once she arrived, I fell madly in love with her face just the way it was and couldn’t bear to alter her. So instead I folded her slightly faded greening into her storyline and named her Second-hand Rose.:)

    12. I have an Iplehouse body that used to be white and is now more a NS yellow ^^'. I got it in 2014 and it was clearly white then. But now:

And my old ANS heads are so yellow now! They are nearly banana, especially my Narcissus (from 2012). But her body has yellowed a lot too, so it doesn't bother me. In this picture it's very visible:

    13. That prize would definitely fall to my WS Pukipuki Pipi. She was already beginning to yellow when I got her from her previous owner and I’ve had her for over 12 years now. That little tyke is now a kind of old ivory shade with a hint of green.
I also have what was once a pink resin doll that has yellowed to a more NS shade.

    14. loving seeing these beauties and how they are mellowed!!!

    15. I don’t have the doll anymore but my most yellowed doll was a Volks Ryu from 2005.
He was super yellowed because I didn’t know anything about bjds back there and left him sitting on my shelf for years!
That’s said he wasn’t like a banana but more like butter color skin or something. I sold him this year at a doll shop. Hope one day he finds a loving home.

    16. Y’all, I was out here thinking dolls eventually turn big bird yellow. Everything posted has been so mild compared to the fear people have instilled in me about yellowing since I joined the hobby. Guess I don’t have to worry about that anymore, since all these dolls are fine by my standards. :sweat

    18. ill have my yellowed baby here in a bit, just gotta finish paying for her :)

    19. I took a group photo to show yellowing in the dolls I have with me. I normally keep all my resin dolls in their boxes for reference.

      From left to right:
      - Unoa 1.0 Lusis
      made from 2003 to 2005, but I have suspicions she's from 2005
      - AZONE Kikipop
ABS and completely off topic but please excuse her as she's part of the family and she has to be included in group photos
      - Migidoll Ryu WS on Iplehouse oYID body
both from 2009 or possibly earlier. His head is a bit more yellow than his body but I can't remember if he matched better when I got him in 2010
      - Volks DDS DDH-06 NS
vinyl, 2014. I think she's good for reference since her vinyl won't change much due to age.
      - Bluefairy Sarang NS
head 2007, body 2006. the body saw much more play than the head I think and it shows because the head is much lighter
My lusis is by far my most yellowed doll as well as my oldest doll. I really don't think she's changed too much since I got her in 2013 though. All of my dolls are evenly yellowed so it doesn't bother me. I used to fear yellowing so much when I first started but I can accept this result easily! Did we actually find out if using flash yellows dolls or did we decide that was an old wives tale after all?

The worst yellowing I've ever seen was on a tan Iplehouse girl who looked a bit like she'd been left in the sun and had pea green splotches. My iplehouse realskin boy (not pictured) has not turned any sort of an awful color despite being partially french resin, so props to iplehouse to working on their tan issues! In fact, I don't think any of my tan dolls look bad 10+ years later!

    20. My second-hand B&G Triya that I bought off an old friend in college, who originally purchased her while I wasn't even a junior in high school... I think. So the doll was originally purchased 2008-2009, and I bought it around 2012-2013. My friend was a clutter-keeper and very messy. The doll stayed out on her table in her bedroom and was never really cleaned or kept out of sunlight.

It's 2021, and she still has her default faceup. She no longer looks like she 'has' yellowed... She just IS yellow lol. My husband has since done some body blushing and added some black eyeshadow to her to help mask the yellowing a bit. I love her!
