Most yellowed doll

Jun 14, 2021

    1. My most yellowed doll is actually doll parts from a 2010 Soom release. I have the dragon parts from their Nephelin release and they were originally cream white. They're now more of a beige color. Kind of like a light normal skin.

After that it would be my 2011 Volks Date Masamune. He's more of a beige color when compared to new Volks which has a pinkish tint to it.

The one that surprised me was an April Story body I bought about 2 years ago second hand. When I got it it was a near perfect match for the Switch normal skin head I got it for, but a few weeks ago I went to check the doll box as I was looking for a wig and face cover I thought might be in the box and was surprised to see that while the head still had a good deal of pinkishness to it the body no longer matched the head. It had lost most if not all of it's pink undertone.:doh Now I gotta find another body.

    2. Not sure if my most yellowed doll is either an older NS Delf I got second hand (especially now that I could compare it to a different older NS Delf) or a 2011 Soom Migma. I also have an unevenly yellowed older Soom body but that body was a project from the beginning. Anyway, definitely Migma bothers me the most, despite being stored in her box indoors (for years tbh) her Light Violet skin has greyed out and gotten a noticeable green tint. I'm tempted to try and dye her, but rightn now I really have no idea what to do with her.

    3. My D.I.M. Alana from 2013 has noticeably changed from a pale peach to a much yellower shade. Its even and still looks like a skin tone, but is definitely yellowed. I have a Soom Uyoo from the same year who yellowed (or faded to green) unevenly due to my not protecting her well from the sun.:doh Yellowing happens with time, but sunlight makes it worse!

    4. I have two, an old MNF shiwoo and i mean OLD like back from the Luts days with the heart hands lol that i got off of yahoo!japan and my mnf kyle who is around...10? Years old? I got him in NS but hes now mellowed to a yellowish/creme color.

    5. I have a lot of yellowed dolls. But, I also have a lot of old dolls.

The most upsetting is probably my Migidoll Ryu’s Domuya body. His head is Migidoll’s old Suntan (Volks Sunlight matching) and the body is Domuya’s Light Tan. Head is from around 2008/9 and is still a nice color, though I’m sure it’s probably yellowed some. The body is at least that old, too. The body has greened a lot. And unevenly, to boot. It used to be a practically perfect match.

I also have Luts/CP Delfs that have yellowed. The oldest being my NS El and NS 05 Breakaway, and possibly my WS Dreaming Lishe (he’s a type 1 head, but I’m not sure on the year). The Lishe (shown below) is the most yellowed, though. He’s trying to be a banana. He was already this yellow when I got him, so I don't know what happened to him in his life, and whitening techniques haven't worked. The goal is to get him a very white body and airbrush him to match lol.

    6. keep giving me your old doll stories! they give me so much joy while i wait for my account to fill to get my banana girl!

    7. My most yellowed doll is definitely my Luts JDF 2010 event head. It was in normal skin originally and we're not quite into banana territory, but the poor dear is quite jaundiced. I don't have a body for it yet primarily because I know I need to wait for one about the same age to pop up, which is taking a while!

My Fairyland F60 Juri 2012 is also a bit yellowed, though she's not nearly as bad and it appears as if the worst of her yellowing is due to aged sealant as opposed to aged resin (though her 2014 body definitely has a tinge not present in my 2019 littlefee). IIRC, the person I bought her from said she'd had the same faceup for several years, and I bought her a couple of years ago. I'm hoping to feel confident enough to wipe her soon-ish and find out if my hypothesis is correct.

    8. Mine is my second-hand DZ Wing elf head. I think it was supposed to be white skin, but it was really yellow.
I ended up buying a yellow skin body for it, and the match is almost perfect.:)

    9. I hope you don't mind me saying, but this is a really cute story. It isn't long but it makes me think that this is her way of remembering where she was with you before and it being part of her now. :)

It makes me sort of rethink how I view yellowed dolls.

    10. I mentioned this in another thread, but my yellowed doll is a 5 Star Doll Quintus in white skin. Denver Doll had him in stock, and since he has been discontinued for a while, I don't know how old he is, or where they had him stored. He was definitely listed as being white skin, but when I got him, I would swear he is a natural skin. He is a pinkish yellow, more on the pink side.
I asked DDE about it, and they were a bit annoyed, thinking that I was accusing them of selling a yellowed doll. He is a nice mellow color, but I had specifically wanted him to have white skin, since he is a vampire. So I was a little irked at first, but it didn't take long for me to love him the way he is. He's such a sweetie and I had wanted a Quintus forever.

This lighting makes him look slightly more yellow than he actually is, but he is definitely not white skin.

He's definitely a yellowed white skin, but it does look like a nice color! Though, I do think that DDE (and any dealer with in stock dolls) should regularly check their stock to see if any dolls have had color changes/outfit deterioration/other aging happen and update the listing with that info. >>; and lower the price to reflect the damage, but I doubt that would happen
I'm glad he worked out for you in the end, he's a cutie ^^

I have a new (to me) yellowed boy. He's a Bimong/Narindoll Narin Classic from 2005 and is the Golden Beige color (which I'm pretty sure is French resin). He's not as badly yellowed as my Lishe, though, and it's very even (link for naked lol). I actually rather like the color. :'D
