Musical instruments for larger dolls?

Have you checked on ebay? There are a few sellers selling violins and instruments for the 1/3 size.

 

I couldnt seem to find any cellos

 

Try calling a local music shop that sells celli, they might know of someplace that sells miniature celli, or even carry some around that size you want-good luck-I would love to see a 14-inch cello too

 

Kalasha! On ebay the seller mimiwoo usually sells cello MSD size.
Perhaps she might have in her store SD size.

 

What about an upright bass? x___x; I didn't bother creating a new thread, since I figured it could all fit under the same category of BIG dollie instruments.

A saxophone would be cool, too- I have an MSD-sized alto, but a big SD-sized one would be awesome.

 

An SD-sized bass would be SO COOL XDD. But then it'd be huge--like human violin-sized!

Maybe you can covert a real-scale violin to a doll bass? O__o

 

You know that was what I was thinking that too especially the violins made for children-the tiny ones 1/4th size I think you could then remove the chin rest. Not sure how much it would be though, cost wise...

 

I was hoping to see the one mimiwoo has, but they seem to be out of stock. I would love to see a SD cello. I'll definitely keep an eye out.

I have an SD upright bassist in my doll family. I'm actually using a real violin as her bass. Look for a very small 32nd size or something like that, remove the button, replace it with an endpin, and you've got it. It requires a little work, and a real voilin is going to be pricy. ...But it is beautiful. Further though, it's not even close to deep enough and the curve and shape of the top is most deffinatly different than that of a bass or cello. To most people however, it looks great, and the color and look of the wood makes it perfect.
Now if only I can figure out how to make a good miniature german bow...

I own several violins, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I happen to have enough to buy one that size, but it was in my Copic airbrush fund.
Tell me if you find a solution to the bow!

I have seen dolls with guitars so I am wondering if anyone might know of where I could find a violin the right size for my 63cm doll? Any suggestions on where to look or links would be very greatly appreciated.

 

been looking for a cello for ages too^^;;. I have a future 70cm doll that would be needing one...

the cello's right size for that height would actually be about 16"-18". I've read it somewhere that you'll be doing the estimation of height of cello via the height of the person sitting down... that's why I came to that estimation.

...no luck finding any cellos of that height though. the only option i could see now is customization. a friend advised me on a certain location i could check out to have mini instruments customization, particularly guitars... i dunno if they can make something like a cello though. i would still have to check out the place^^;;

 

I'm actually looking for a 1/3 scale bagpipe. Specifically Great Highland pipes. Short of trying to make it myself, can anyone point me to a merchant?

I recall on one of the doll brand sites there was a SD size keyboard. Will go look later.

 

If you ever find out the size of that bagpipe let me know; I'd LOVE a bagpipe for one of my dollies.

 

I don't know about Bagpipes and Cellos and but i have seen a few Harps and Saxophones on Taobao...
Guitars, Violins and Shamisens are also a popular option too...

 

does anyone know where I might be able to find a shamisen that would work with a 60cm doll?
