1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Musical instruments for larger dolls?

Dec 31, 2006

    1. I recently went to a couple of local music shops and purchased an SD sized doumbek ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goblet_drum )
They also had SD sized electric and acoustic guitars, and a clarinet!
I've also seen 1/4 and 1/6 sized guitars around locally as well as on ebay.

    2. Dang, I'd love to have one of those! I don't know that any of my dolls are musical, but I'd get it just for me. I love hand drums, and the doumbek is one of my favorites. Dum-dum-tek-a-tek!

    3. Attention harp interested! check out my sale thread. I am making full-sized handmade wooden harps. My thread isn't open now due to weather but will be putting models on the market

    4. I am trying to find an electric guitar for my new boy. I need to know the ideal size (in inches) that I need to look for. The guitar is for a 60 cm boy body (either Senior Delf body or Volks SD13 body). If that helps for the scale, the head is a Migidoll Ryu.

If somebody has one of these GMP miniature Fender licensed guitars, I would LOVE to see one with a SD doll.

      Thanks! :D

    5. Bump for today! :D

    6. I would like to find a piano and a chess set in scale with 70 cm dolls because I would like to get Jester(SSDF Cloud) one.
Does anyone know where to find one or if they even exist in that size.
I've seen dolls with chess sets before so I know those exist.

    7. bumping in case someone knows where to find one.

    8. Bump for today.

    9. bump for today.

    10. Has anyone found a source for a mini shamisen that would work for an Iplehouse EID doll?

    11. bump for today.

    12. The link posted just before you has chess sets. As far as pianos go look for music boxes. I remember someone I grew up around having a music box piano with bench that should be about right.

    13. It IS hard to find instruments in the right scale for any sized doll--but particularly for 60cm and above... I've bought maybe 5 or more electric guitars and they never seem quite right...

If people can post measurements of various instruments that they have found to be in correct scale for various sizes, that would be great...!

I have to go measure some of my instruments and take photos... I'll post more later...

    14. So far I've found violins.... and flutes... and guitars... ... even a drum set.

      But still no cello....

    15. This reply may be a little late for those who were asking, but I own a miniature guitar that is just about the right size for my SD girls. It is about 10 1/4 inches long, and 3 1/4 inches wide at the widest part of the body. It is a miniature Fender Guitar made by Guitarmania.

Unfortunately I don't have any pics of it with my dolls at this time (as I still need to make a strap for it), but I'll bump it up my projects list and see if I can't post something soon!
