MYou tinies discussion - Part 2

Dec 16, 2020

    1. Oh man, I feel like Myou is trolling me :XD: I plan to order 1/4 boy body from their current sale but was holding back just in case they'd happen to release new 1/6 mature tinies so I could order both together, my thought process was pretty much "they released Rod and Bettina in April 2020, maybe they'll release new ones this year?" Logged in here today and saw in the news they have new 1/6 dolls, squealed excited and went to check the thread; they're child looking anime dolls.... But oh my gosh how cute! I love the mouth pieces on Miya (literally can we get more dolls with cute mouth pieces?) and the cute elf ears on Aubrey and I'm seriously considering ordering the latter since I've been lusting for anime doll...

Which brings me up to the question; does anyone have their earlier 1/6 anime doll Tangwan and could share pictures of them? Especially interested if s/he doesn't have the default face-up since it would be fun to see other looks for them. :D

    2. I love Myou's new anime-style dolls, they are so tempting for sure! It's a good thing I am a bit broke right now, I can only see but not "touch," lol!

I finally have some progress on my Myou Bettina male, I completed his body blushing a few weeks back and made two wigs for him. I am waiting on more fiber to make two more wigs for him. I want to have a natural black wig for him too, because he is my fan-art version of Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul. I'm also waiting to receive more Myou eyes for him, hopefully this time they will be the right ones -- I hope they'll ship to me soon.

He is holding a Ken Elephant Red Wing shoe gashapon figure, but they sadly don't fit on him. I shared a few more photos of him on here, in the gallery side of the forum, if anyone is interested. (:

    3. I love him @Enzyme ! I thought Bettina would work as a boy too so I'm glad to get to see her as one. I actually love how unisex Myou's face sculpts are, makes them even more versatile. I not so secretly wish they'd make mature tiny versions of Delia and Zuzana, those two are so cute and they'd be even cuter as smaller versions and I'd need them both.

But I guess it's not their most popular line since the last new dolls in that size came out in 2020. Maybe I should message them to let them know there's still interest in more dolls. Earlier I commented on their Instagram about Miya and her mouth pieces saying I wish more dolls and especially 1/4 dolls had them and they replied that they'd mention that to their sculptor so I'm hopeful that maybe we'll see some regular MSDs with mouth pieces eventually. I'd of course love them for mature tinies too but I wonder if their heads are just plain too tiny for that kind of details :sweat

Also yes, I have no self control and ordered Aubrey. I hope he gets here before second week of June, I'd love to take him to local Convention with me but maybe I should bring Sunny instead (my Alan) he'd be likely lighter and easier to carry since he's so smol.

    4. Thank you so much for your comments digi. I kept debating between Alan and Rod, I did a lot of mockups in Photoshop before deciding which one I would get. Both their eyes a bit far apart, and made them look super baby-faced (IMHO), I want my Kaneki to look young, but not too young. I then decided to try doing mockups of the girls, and Bettina won due to the shape of her mouth alone. DX I'm super happy with him, but now I'm wondering if I should have given Alan another shot, since he seems to have smaller eyes in some photos, but from Myou's own blank photos of the sculpts, it doesn't really look like he does. Regardless, I am in love with these mature Myou tinies. I only wish they were more mature looking, or had smaller heads or broader shoulders (at least the males, I don't plan on getting any of the females, because I already hoard too many female fashion dolls).

I certainly hope they make more sculpts with optional parts as well, and Miya is really tempting, I hope that if I ever decide to get one of their anime-style sculpts, I'll be able to get her on a male body, or maybe on a mature one. ^-^;; I hope you post loads of photos of your Aubrey once he arrives, congrats! (:

    5. I've also been thinking between Alan And Rod, but finally decided to wait until (please, let it be soon!) they release a new mature tiny mold....

    6. I really regret not asking if Myou would sell me Alan's head separately, he is the one that I originally wanted and made me think of possibly owning a "mature-ish" tiny BJD after wanting one for so long. I also hope they do more mature sculpts, and hopefully a more "muscular' version of their male body. I don't mind the current one, but I prefer my male dolls to be more on the ideal-body shapes side, than on the slimmer scrawny-as-the-dickens-side (as a scrawny person myself, I have no problems with mega-thin body shapes, I just prefer my male dolls a bit more athletic looking in body build, and my female dolls a bit more varied, but leaning toward flat-chested. lol!). (:

    7. ^ I actually asked them about possibility of buying just a head once and they said they won't sell them separately unfortunately.

I had some time today so I took my Alan (Sunny) out for some photos :whee:

He's wearing the only pair of shoes I have that fit him; Ken's sandals :XD: definitely should try looking for boots though, his ankles are his weakest spot and he falls over easily.

    8. Digi, that is too bad, that Myou won't sell heads separately. Maybe someday I'll add a complete Alan to my collection, I doubt as unpopular as Myou mature males seem, someone would want to do a split order with me. Your Sunny looks adorable in those OMG (?) clothes, I own Cool Lev, but don't plan on unboxing him. I was hoping their jackets would be more proportionate in length, so I could steal the Shadow High's male doll's jacket for my Kaneki. I don't own any of the RH male dolls, because I don't like their face shapes/features nor proportions (I got one of the girls on sale for a custom, but I'm kind of procrastinating because I don't find the sculp appealing at all! I know I'm a weirdo, as most people seem to fawn over how "beautiful" they are to them, but I guess I'm just plain old weird).

I'm going to look for comparisons between the RH males and the OMG males now, to see if there's a possibility the former is taller -- otherwise that saves me a lot of money, considering I would have to either fork out 35-40USD for the whole doll just for his jacket, or around the same amount for a parted out jacket, when I can just purchase nicer quality, more realistic 1:6 action figure clothes, even if they are all (ridiculously) oversized on my Myou. DX[/font=calibri]

    9. Yeah they're OMG clothes, I literally bought the doll (it was in sale for 50% off, I'd never have bought one for full price :sweat) to snatch the clothes for Sunny, it was a bit bummer that they're just teeny tiny bit too short for him and the back of the pants keeps popping open if he bends his legs but on the other hand it kind of works for the character, he doesn't care how he looks like to others so wearing size too small clothes doesn't matter to him and they're cute as heck so he'll be wearing them for now no matter what.:XD: RH doll clothes are the next one I'd like to try on him. He also has few Ken clothes that work. That's probably why he's my favorite at the moment, he's easy to clothe since I don't have to separately order anything, just walk to a store and shop some Barbie clothes.

    10. Those were kind of my thoughts too! I figured since these are so small-framed, they would fit most fashion doll clothes, and then I wouldn't look like a bum who loves to take nudes of her dolls. DX I am a weirdo however, I forgot that I like to keep things sealed in plastic. Lol! I wish that was due to old age, but I'm afraid I like keeping things MISB since I could spell words longer than my name. I don't mind parted out cloth stuff however, because I can wash it (I'm a weirdo to the bone; a germaphobe not to keep things uninteresting, not just a sealed-in-box-toy-hoarder). I will probably still take lots of nudes of this little dude, because I really want to darken his veins -- they don't seem to show up in any of the photos I took, but I can plainly see them IRL, I'm weird, I want them visible for the internet to see (I do love painting veins on things though, so that's also a reason).

Thanks for sharing that the OMG boy clothes don't close on the males at least, I don't think there are any OMG clothes I want, but at least now I'll know not to get any. I do own a few of the girls and two of the boys, but I have no interest to unbox them (I did unbox Rocker Boi, to customize but his clothes are not appealing to me -- I love all-black-clothes even for my dolls, so maybe that should be added to me being a huge creepy weirdo). (:

    11. I hate double posting, but I tried a few things on my Bettina male. I hope they help anyone looking to find possible clothing and shoes options for their males. I don't own any of the girls, so I'm guessing these won't work that well on them.

The OMG tops work if they are super stretchy. This one is from Rocker Boi, they have velcro on the back, not my personal favorite, but it is what it is. I was also trying on the pants, but because I fully blushed my Bettina's body, I don't want to ruin the coating before it's time to redo it. They were too tight to pull all the way up, so I gave up. I kind of already stripped a bit of the fixative off thanks to trying those pants, I'm a bit mad at myself for trying. I didn't do that with the Jacket, for the same reason, but it looks way too tight, and I didn't want to ruin the hand blushing:

1:6 action figure male shoes are too big as I had suspected. They are twice the length of the Myou mature male feet length. The black "converse" stained my guy's foot, but it was my fault because I was too lazy to make socks for him before trying them on. These are painted, they look really nice, but do stain if you don't put them on with socks on first. They are too big for my taste, but they do fit on the foot (ridiculously oversized, IMHO, but others might be okay with it.). I do own a pair of hollow 1:6 action figure female shoes, but I kind of (forgot and) misplaced those, so I'll have to find them before I try those on him.

I love 1:6 items, because they are super realistic, even the plastic molded shoes. The only downside is that most are for peg joints and more recently, sellers won't say if they are for feet or for peg joints, in a clear manner. Which makes shopping in the 1:6 action figure sections a pain in the gut hole, if you want them for a BJD or other non-action-figure-doll. As a 1:6 collector, I don't mind it too badly -- I however, do own hybrid doll action figure customs, and it is a pain then because most of my hybrids don't have removable feet that can use pegs for joints. DX

Edit & to avoid triple-posting on the same thread: I found my 1:6 female shoes. They were a pain in the gut to put on and take off. I would probably heat them before putting them on a second time. They overstretched the socks I had just made for him, and I chipped a nail (which I keep as short as humanly possible, due to me being a germaphobe, I can't say it wasn't painful and I didn't want to curse to the moon and back!). I would probably recommend not using 1:6 female plastic molded shoes for the mature males, I don't know if the girls have smaller feet, but the males' feet are just a bit too wide and just about the length of the shoes. Usually, fabric or cloth 1:6 shoes are made a touch larger, if they are meant to go on feet, so I'll probably look for cloth shoes next time I want to splurge on shoes for my toys.

This is what they look like from other sides, in terrible darkness, because I suck. On their intended "owner,' a 1:6 female figure, that wore them once.

I also wanted to try the Real Little's Snickers; I didn't want to force them on, because the female 1:6 shoes were a nightmare to get off. I feel that if there was a slit down the back of these they would fit. However, I didn't want to ruin these because they were my only pair. Lucky for me, I just purchased a second pair, and they are a duplicate pair (how un/lucky, I want to try the low tops or chucks, I feel they might work without cutting the shoes open). These are the right length, but the opening is too narrow for the width of the male feet. If my dude wasn't blushed, I would probably try forcing them on, but I don't want to redo the blushing so soon (soundslikeabrokenrecord).

    12. Thanks for the comparisons @Enzyme! I have a Asleep Eidelon slim 1/6 female right now and have been considering a Myou slim 1/6 some day. My AE can wear those Real Littles shoes really well (if a slit is cut in the back) but AE also has two foot sizes and only the smaller feet fit. I have a recommendation for ya too! Look into Createable World. For clothes AND shoes! They sell small clothes sets or a larger set with a doll included but they're relatively inexpensive. Createable World shoes are about the same size as Real Littles and you can actually see what shoes you're getting in the sets. Check Amazon because I've seen some of the big sets for less than $15USD new. Even if the shoes don't fit, the clothes should.

    13. Thank you for the suggestion, Cap'n. I want to try female action figure clothes, before I spend any money on fashion doll clothes. I prefer realism and actual functional closures, like you'll find on most 1:6 clothes and not in playline fashion doll clothes. If I didn't suck to death sewing anything smaller than 40cm (I suck at bigger sizes too, but it's not a such a royal pain in the gut-hole), I would just try making a bunch of clothes myself. I'm not into "casual" clothes for my dolls, but I wouldn't mind owning a few readymade pieces, if they are realistic and detailed. Which will probably mean having to make them myself, because female action figures might be still a bit too big for these super slim "mature" males (the girls might fit some of the things, if their hips are wider). Thanks again for the suggestion, I might still try the Createable World, if only for the shoes. (:

*Edit, I meant smaller -- if the female mature tiny females have narrower hips. I don't know why I keep typing "bigger" when I mean smaller, in any context. Probably the same reason I kept misspelling "sneakers" as "snickers' on my above post. Lol!

    14. Does anyone have any myou dolls in both white skin and normal skin that could show a comparison of their colours in different lighting?
I've been out of the hobby for quite some time, but I've checked in every so often to see what's new in the bjd world and I've really taken a liking to their anime style dolls. The only issue is trying to figure out which resin colour to go for. The yellow looks too yellow and the pink looks too pink for my taste. So I've narrowed it down to white skin and normal skin. So if anyone could share some pics of these resin colours in different lighting that would be super helpful. ^^

    15. @Kanon I have both, here you go:

These should be in order normal light, red light & blue light:

First one is normal skin and second white. I can sadly only offer the headcaps since my white Myou head has been blushed to match the normal color.

    16. Wow I didn't expect a reply so quickly. Thank you so much! Your pics are so much better than the company colour pics. Now I just need to make a decision and I'm sure I'll be back here in the future when I've ordered the doll/when it arrives. Thank you so much for your help. ^^

    17. I wanted to ask if anyone has tried Tonner Ellowyne Wilde shoes on the mature tinies? Most of the recommendations in the thread are for modern style shoes like sneakers and sandals, but I'm needing more vintage styles (Victorian/Edwardian) and that's proving difficult. I saw Taeyang doll shoes fit, and I noticed that Ellowyne Wilde heels have the same length and should fit in the width as well. They're some of the only feminine shoes that could look the part that I've been able to find, so if they could work, that'd be a big relief when I'm able to order my Gina

    18. Ellowyne has bigger feet. Marley Wentworth fit perfectly though, but it has to be the 12" Marley Wentworth.

    19. I bought a pair of Taeyang boots and they were too big, but the 12 inch Marley Wentworth sandals and clogs fit perfect and look super cute.

    20. My little Coquelicot is exploring more of her style. I've known her theme is red but not really a fan of my 1/8 girls always wearing dresses. Still need to attempt to make her wings again. Also wanna save up for a Dudu some day but only if I can get his fullset.
