MYou tinies discussion - Part 2

Dec 16, 2020

    1. She looks really pretty! But I get you with tinies always ending up wearing dresses... My next one (Rourou) is a boy, so it seems like I'd need to invest in some boyish tiny clothings.

    2. My Loretta and Feng Linger arrived today after just over a four-month wait. Both are very pretty, now I get to see what fits them clothing-wise.

    3. My two Vieruodis's, Valentine & January. I had fun playing with the filters on IG lol

Question for Myou 26cm owners...do you have issues with the legs being impossible, even after sueding? I feel like mine are both strung loosely, and even after hot glue on all the joints the legs just roll around. I am not sure if it is that round joint at the top of the thigh or if they need tighter stringing. Curious if they are all like this?

    4. @jenlovesdolls I bought my Alan second hand and he felt really floppy all over but I figured that it was just that his previous owner had handled him so much that he had gotten loose. I bought new elastic strings and restrung and hot glue sueded his joints and aside of his temperamental ankles he behaves much better now. Although I think that because the elastics in him (and the other dolls his size) are so thin they wear out faster than thicker ones would since I already added one extra knot to his leg string to make him tighter again earlier this spring :sweat I hate the ball joint at the part where the leg attaches to the body though, it's the worst joint in the whole body and if I could change one thing it'd be that.

    5. I purchased my mature Myou tiny new, and he does feel a lot less strong-like-a-rock than all my other dolls of these kind. I always assumed it was precisely because of his size. He is the only tiny humanoid BJD I own, most of my other dolls are over 40cm (the tallest being 67cm). Their elastics are indeed much thicker than what came with my Myou doll. I don't have any issues with posing him, he does take a bit of fiddling to hold a pose, but I once again believe it to be caused by the thinner elastic. There's not enough tension, but also, he's pretty light compared to my larger strung dolls. I am considering wiring him; it would be the first time I do so, and I would probably have to hand-coat the wire myself -- I doubt there's commercially available coated wire thin enough to fit in a mature Myou tiny. DX

I doubt anyone will know for certain, but can anyone who owns Rod tell me if his eyes are dark blue, or just another shade of grey? I purchased both Alan's and Reid's eyes for my Bettina male (I want them to be pale blue), but they were both slightly different shades of grey (slightly different iris sizes as well, which I find fascinating and clever of Myou!). Thanks in advance, if anyone can answer my question. (:

    6. Both of my dolls were bought brand new, and I glue sueded both of them. I feel either they string them kind of loose, or that ball at the top, even with the notch, just likes to roll around and cause crazy legs.

Both of mine were bought brand new as well, I do have a lot of other dolls this size, but they are the only ones that are like this. I am coming to the conclusion, as I said above, that they string them loose or that ball at the top of the leg just rolls around, even with the notch. It could also be a combination of both.
I use doll stands for both of them, not the prettiest way to display them, but at least I know they are secure.

    7. @jenlovesdolls I have Rod coming at some point likely in month or two, I can then confirm if he was floppy too or not. I don't mind restringing my dolls so if he's loose too then I'll first try if adding one extra knot to the string helps and can report back. I think because they're so small and more fragile than bigger dolls they probably don't want to string them too tightly so the resin won't accidentally break from the tension. But I also agree that the ball doesn't help their legs at all, as said, the worst part in the whole body.

    8. I will be curious how your new one is! I like the ball because it gives more range of motion, but at the same time is causes TOO much motion lol

    9. I think there was discussion in another thread about stringing and long shipping times. The thought was super tight stringing would cause bowing/chipping or cracking at wrists and ankles. The loose stringing might be to protect the dolls.

    10. Received a message that my RouRou had been shipped!:love Just after two months!
Now I hope he will reach here safely soon.

    11. Hi all! I need to catch up on reading but wanted to give some things-that-fit update, some which might have been mentioned before.
(Yeeesss she is still bald. I still haven't found a wig for her. I bought a lovely Barbie one off etsy but it was a hard cap and despite trying to cut it to allow it to fit... it just isn't going to work :-( also she is still shoeless. I know about the ones from Deb's Adorables off eBay but I haven't been able to find clothes that fit the style of those shoes so I'm at a loss)

tl;dr there is a lot of potential for Poppy Parker items to fit the 27cm body! more details on the pic.

also friendly reminder that Rainbow High bottoms fit perfectly. Maybe she'll lack a little mobility in shorts but they look so cute + the skirts have a built in panty that keep the skirt in place which is worth it's weight in gold. I've literally been trying to think of how to do something similar to my skirts!

Oh and one more thing... I found these ADORABLE Blythe/Azone shoes from somewhere out on the web and they fit the 17cm gal so perfectly and she stands in them very nicely.

    12. She is so adorable! I hope it’s not poor form to reply to an older post, but I just ordered an MYou Bettina, also in Coffee, and am so excited! I’m do glad to see where you found the eyes and wig. May I ask what size you ordered for each?

    13. You can get Tyler shoes from ebay, or Etsy. Also, you can sew a narrow ribbon from the front of the waistband to the back of the waistband, making sure it's the right length. It's like a primitive thong.

    14. After hundred years of waiting for the package to move my Aubrey finally arrived:

I have a bit mixed feelings about him. Firstly he's the first Myou doll I've ever ordered to actually come with random eyes instead of the ones in the promo pictures which is a shame since I really liked the promo eyes, these blue ones not so much :sweat Secondly, their site has his eye size marked wrong, it says 14mm but the eyes he came with are actually 16mm - meaning the three pairs of backup eyes I had bought for him are all way too small and he can't use them without looking shocked all the time. Small things but very annoying regardless.

Maybe once I get to paint him I'll fall in love but right now I'm just feeling very "meh" about this poor boy. :(

    15. I finally caved and got Tangwan (boy) on layaway from Alice Collection. I'm super excited and can't wait for him to arrive. But where do people find clothing and accessories for the 30cm dolls? I'm looking through Etsy and not sure if the clothing I'm seeing will fit him.

    16. I figured that if I was going to have to wait 4 months for my first MYOU doll to arrive, then I might as well order two at the same time, right? :3nodding: Meet Ren and his sister Harmony (Sibyl boy and Ziyan)

    17. Two is better than one! Welcome home little ones, adventure awaits!

    18. Ahhh they're so gorgeous! May I ask where you got your wigs? My Bettina's current JinSun 4/5 wig is super cute and the cap fits well, but it looks too big for her.

    19. My vieruodis arrived today and I'm already in love!! She was able to stand and hold the pose right out of her packaging! I'm sad my camera doesn't capture her faceup well; it's very pretty and sparkly!

    20. Aww she's so cute @AscheRune ! I wish they'd release more of these tinies, I love my Alan and Rod and would love few more friends for them, I'd also love if they made another body option for both genders since I'm honestly not too fond of this Myou noodle body shape. I guess my next one will be Bettina since it would be fun to have a girl too. Not buying any more dolls right now though, I need to paint the existing ones first and get my Leilia home first. :sweat
