NABIYETTE fairy - 5.5cm

Sep 18, 2010

    1. Ashley,
Little Witch Nabiyette is absolutely adorable xDDD I love the addition of the hat as well <3

      Ayas,
It does sound very ambitious to make a removable belly plate for Dahlia, however if you are inspired by it, you should try it ^^ I'm sure you could sculpt one out of apoxy or clay or something ^^

    2. If your interested in doing a belly plate you should join http://denofangels.com/joints/!
Its all about doll making and stuff and you might find inspiration of how to do it! n.n

    3. Sorry that I wasn't too encouraging on the belly plate idea. I'm just not as "out of the box" as some of the people here. You're so right, go for it ! :sumomo:

      Thank you Queedie2,
Here's my little witch again. She needed a bit more makeup to jazz her up a bit:

    4. I wasn't discouraged at all. ^-^ I know it's something that's not for everyone. If everyone liked the same things, this would be one boring hobby! I'm still deciding if I'll go for making a plate for Dahlia...or if I'll just try very, VERY hard to save up for a WS Nabiyette to do a permanent mod for instead. ^-^ Either way, I just want to try and do a pregnant, mature bodied, tiny. I think it would make for some great photoshoots, and be a lot of fun to try! And I'm going to have 'belly plates' for a bigger doll in the future, anyway, as the character goes through a pregnancy during her story. Which is part of what got me thinking about a pregnant tiny. ^-^ And really...I think with her tiny, thin, graceful frame that Nabiyette is a wonderful candidate, too. ^-^

    5. Ashley,
8D The extra makeup makes a big difference. She is very cute!

      Ayas,
You could maybe wrap Dahlia tightly in saran wrap or something to protect her, and just mold the clay over her belly.
It should fit her nicely after it dries, because it was formed to her body. I'm not sure how you would go about attaching it after it was done however lol.

    6. If I decide to make a belly plate for Dahlia instead of just saving up for a new Nabiyette, I'll wrap her in plastic wrap, then sculpt the pregnant belly over top of that, and leave it on while the epoxy clay cures...similar to what I had to do to mod some hooves to fit one of my Bobobie tinies properly. To be able to easily attatch it after...well, I'm thinking that the super tiny magnets I have MIGHT work...I'd test them first, to be sure that 1: I can get 1-2 inside her body without interfering with her elastics and 2: they're strong enough to hold together through the resin (but at this size, and how 'thin' the resin is where I'd need them, I'm sure they would) well enough to handle the weight of the belly plate. Then I'd embed a set in the plate itself while sculpting it, and putting a matching set inside her.

If the magnets do NOT work...I'd probably glue a ribbon to the underside of the plate, where it touches the body, that I can wrap around her to tie it in place. Not ideal, as it makes nude photos harder to take, as you have to then hide the ribbon, but still something I could work with, given her hair.

but my ideal for this little protective fairy is a permanent mod on a WS Nabiyette. So I don't have to worry about how to attach it after it's cured, or any of that. And with a WS girl, it'd be easier to do a body blush to help hide the line between the doll, and the mod, without having to attempt to tint, and then blush, or paint, JUST the epoxy addition to match well enough to THEN do a body blush to make everything match as closely as possible without needing to air-brush.

    7. I'd use eye putty. :P

    8. Ohhh Raesha :D
Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best ones xD That's an excellent idea.

      Edit:
Rather than spam the board with 2 messages in a row, I'll just add the picture I wanted to share to this post ^^

Here's a pic of Adelle and Raezr :D Adelle has been with my grandmother a long while, and she finally arrived in the mail today ^_^
The picture is a bit quick, due to my super excitement lol Once I make Adelle a better outfit, I'll give them a proper shoot :D
Adelle and Raezr are best buds <3 <3

I've finally figured out how to photograph Raezr in my house. She'd always look like she was glowing and completely washed out because we have industrial/florescent lighting in our house. (ALL of the lights @o@)
I held up two sheets of paper from my printer to block the light and cast a shadow over the dolls, and then took the picture. They turned out really well!!! :D :D Now all I need to do is learn to take better pictures with one hand D: lol I was lucky to get this one xD

    9. I had to experiment with lighting, and I endeup up getting a shadow box, it did help in eliminating bad flash. I guess the white paper you held out gave a shadow box effect. Thanks for sharing your photo of these girls Queedie, they look very cozy together!

    10. Thank you so much Ashley 8DDD
I'm just waiting on Adelle's new body then I'll be a dress making FOOL 8DDDDDDDDDD
(I'm giving her a MNF body)

What is shadowboxing? :o Is that those umbrella thingies photographers use?? That's what I was thinking of when I grabbed the paper.

      I made Raezr a new dress :D :D
I'm wondering if it's too heavy because it took me FOREVER to get her to stand on her own.
Or maybe she needs some shoes for more support :o Not sure lol xD
I really like the gown feel of the dress <3

    13. Hello everyone! I am SO SORRY! I have been busy for a while and have not been able to check my usual threads. I am so excited by everyone's love for my tiny dresses. Ashley, I'm so happy your girls look so adorable in them! I just love the little hat you made to match the star dress! And oh my, the new Nabiyettes showing up are gorgeous! I just love this little doll! 14. Niko! *ubersmoosh*
:D Nabiyette is so awesome, I love her very much too! Has your lil girl gone on any more adventures? :3

    15. Hi Queedie2! Thx my girl has temporary "pillow fluffing" hair while I wait for her custom wig to arrive. I actually don't have a name yet! Do you have any ideas? I listed her on flickr as Nabiyette No Name - sad, huh? I love her but just can't think of a name!

    16. Queedie2 Lottie hasn't had any new adventures as of yet, but possibly soon. I've been meaning to take the poor girl out for a doll meet. :3

torisaur I take a while to think of just the right name as well. No worries, it will come to you in time. :) Dollies don't mind being no-names XD

    17. So I FINALLY started work on Dahlia's wings tonight...and they are totally kicking my butt. I'm now sure that I need to pick up the last of what I need to solder the wires that make up the 'frame' together, since even superglue isn't holding them together right...and taping them in the right shape so I CAN glue them together failed worse than the glue did!

    18. Ayas-Shadow soldering sounds smart :3 oooh, i can't wait to see the wings!

    19. Niko,
A doll meet sounds fun 8DDD I hope you're able to do that soon! :D

      Tori,
I didn't even recognize her hair as pillow fluff until you said something :o <3 What ingenuity! xD It works well in the photoshoot, but I'm excited to see what her hair will be like :3

      Ayas,
WINGS! wow :D Good luck on those!! I bet they're gonna be AWESOME 8D

Here is some lovely spam of Raezr in her new outfit I made for her today. I have no clue how she keeps cutting in line ahead of my other dolls ;D I think its that cute little pout. I can't ever seem to tell her no ^^ <3

    20. The new outfit on Raezr is darling!

The only thing I still need to solder the wires together is to either find my sandpaper, or buy more, as I've read it's the best way to 'clean' the wires after you've bent them into shape, since solder won't hold if there's any dirt, or oils, or anything on the wire. I REALLY hope it works out well! Of course...I've still to figure out posing and things for them...but I need to get the main body of them together before I get that far! Silly girl just likes to be difficult.

And I thought I'd mention in here...that it is all the fault of my Nabiyette that I finally bought another sculpt I've been going back to time and again to look at for about the last 2 years. I have a Nabi Kiss on her way home to me right now! Nabiyette was so my 'gateway drug' to loving the larger ones enough to bring one home!
