Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. NABIYETTE fairy - 5.5cm

Sep 18, 2010

    1. Richila: Congrats on paying off your girl! Can't wait to see what you do with her!

And...Dahlia might just be getting a new dress afterall! I gave her little 'Kelly' outfit to a friend, along with another dress, and a 'Tommy' outfit that fit her dolls better than mine, so as soon as we can get together again for me to let her borrow Dahlia, she's going to try making her a dress or two! I'm rather excited to see what she does, actually, as the stuff she makes for her own tinies always turns out so darned CUTE!

    2. I got Nabiyette on Christmas Eve. The resin is close enough to my Cordie's OT head that I won't be modding the Nabiyette head at this time. I am posting a link to my Flickr if you would like to see her.

    3. Richila: She looks great! The color seems like a perfect match in the picture. I love her outfit too.

    4. Thanks! The clothing she is wearing is some I had made for the Azone Picco Neemo body-so it looks like those clothes will work.

Waloli pattern by richila9098, on Flickr
I made a Waloli pattern that fits.

I am working on patterns. Do you have any requests?

    6. Wow! Thank you Richila! I am going to attempt to make this. Sewing is not my strong area, but practice makes perfect. I love the Japanese culture and their clothing. Thanks so much for sharing.

    7. Have fun! Fray check can be your frend when doing tiny sewing. I found a dollhouse doll dress that I made at 125%

I am going to try it with darts to fit it better to her body. I have a pants pattern that fits using sock/stretchy fabric; but haven't got a non stretch one that works yet.:(

    8. I have been having a wonderful time reading all your posts and seeing your Nabiyettes. I am very excited as I have just bought my first bjd doll a Nabiyette and it seems fitting that it should be my first doll as it was the last one Garden of dolls had for sale. Reading your posts help me decide. Hopefully I will post a picture of her soon, she has orange hair and I have named her Clementine. Thank you richila for sharing your clothing pattern, I am not very good at sewing but I will try.

    9. Clementine had her first photo shoot today so I thought you might like to see her. I hope this works[IMG]

    10. ruby - The photo isn't loading on the thread for me, but I followed the URL and OH MY GOODNESS!!! She's precious! I love that short little wig. The color is lovely with her skin tone! thank you for sharing! :)

    11. Thank you nikopiko, Clementine came to me just like she is and is my first bjd doll. I hope I have managed to correct the photo now. I love your kitty she is so special.:)

    12. Congratulations!

    13. Ruby: Clementine is so cute. I love the hair and even it's cut fits her so perfectly. Her bench is just the right fit for her too!

    14. Thank You richila and ambshp. I love your Luna ambshp she just looks so serene and her knitted outfit looks great. I am hoping Clementine will get some new clothes soon. Its so hard deciding what to get her as there are so many wonderful choices available. I really should try to make some too. :)

    15. Clementine is just adorable! LOVE her wig and dress on the resin color! She's a light tan/coffee, isn't she?

Well, Dahlia is still off getting a dress or two made...or she's at least with the friend who hopes to make her some things. And I miss her terribly! But that's OK, my friend is taking good care of her, and can keep her for as long as she needs. Poor girl slipped after a severe ice storm here, and broke her ankle, requiring surgery, so she hasn't had the time or want to go fabric hunting or do the sewing for Dahlia yet. She offered to give her back until she's doing better, but Dahlia and I agreed that she should stay, to help cheer my friend up while she heals. *nods* I'm still hoping to get some photos of her a week from Saturday at a local dolly meet the friend is hosting, though, to show off the one little dress she does already have.

Also...I think we've already covered that some Monster High tops fit these girls, but I thought, now that I'm also starting in to MH dolls, that I'd give some more info there. Tops with straps instead of sleeves with a more stiff, fitted bodice can fit with a little altering. If the bust of the bodice is in the right place on the doll, the straps are too long. If the straps are sitting on the shoulders, the bodice sits low and looks funky. Easily fixed, though. Either shorten straps, or remove them completely. Stiff fabrics that are in a fitted bodice with sleeves just look funky to me, since the bust of the bodice sits oddly. The knit fabric tops, though, fit wonderfully, weather they have straps or sleeves, and can look really good. Dresses are too long and look strange, even if they have a more simple, tube shape to them, as they hit in an awkward spot on the shins, making the legs look SUPER short. Velcro waist skirts don't fit at all, too wide. Could be made to work with minor alterations in the back, or taking in a side seam a little to tighten them up. Skirts that are stretchy with elastic waists fit AMAZINGLY well, and look good since they tend to be on the 'short' side for the MH dolls, which makes them hit knee length on our girls. Pants (are there any?) would be too big, obviously. The shoes are also too big.

So...yeah...if you can find either seperates of MH clothes, for a good price, or collect MH yourself, they're worth trying. And if you can find cheap or free patterns for MH dolls, they would be easy to modify to fit. This makes me think my little fairies aren't going to be so...nature inspired in their clothes as I wanted (make mostly of 'silk' flower petals and things of that nature) and are going to be far more modern and fantasy based instead.

    16. Ruby: Thank you for the compliment. Nabiyette was my 1st BJD and so far my only too (though, now I have another one on the way.) She is just so sweet and perfect! I hope you enjoy her!
Ayas-shadow: I didn't think to try the MH outfits on her. Though I only have the one outfit MH came with. Now I will have to be on the look out for more of their clothing.
Dahlia is so kind hearted to stay and keep your injured friend company. Too bad she couldn't have someone bring her fabric. Sewing would be a great thing to do when you are mending an injured ankle. Well then again, sewing by hand would be a good thing to do. I forgot about the peddle on the sewing machine. That wouldn't be such an easy task if it happened to be the foot she typically used for her machine's peddle that was injured. :sorry

I just got my Luna back from getting a face-up. Here is her before and after pics. It was too yucky of a day to go outside so the after pic is a little dark due to my dimly light house.
One of these days I will get a better camera or learn how to take better pictures. I really need both. :)

    17. Ayas-Shadow - Sorry to hear about your friend. It's sweet you left your doll with her for comfort. Still, I hope Dahlia comes home with some lovely new outfits.

ambshp - The petals in her make-up are precious. :)

    18. Ambshp: As soon as I have Dahlia back, I'll take photos of her in the MH stuff I have to post. Some of it looks WAY cute on her, or would if I altered it to fit her.

Nikopiko: I'm sure she'll have at least a few really cute dresses. And once she gets home, I'll start doing some sewing for her, too. I really do need to work on making clothing for my little little girls, and not just keep going 'no, it's hard, I don't want to!' *laughs*

Also...do we have a 'what fits' thread for this little girl? If not, we really should. I keep saying that in threads, and then not doing anything about it myself...I really should.

    19. Ah what adorable girls live here ; U ; <3 <3 Shame on me for disappearing D:
Raezr is mad that I haven't taken any new photos of her <A<; lol

      Ayas,
I agree, there should definitely be a what fits thread for Nabiyette. Though, is that part of what this thread is for? I thought it was kind of one in the same XDD
and I agree, it's super sweet of you to let Dahlia stay with your friend <3

Question to all the lovely people here:
Or maybe more specifically for Ashley <3
My Nabiyette is missing her head magnet and I can no longer put her headcap on. Though, I've been looking seemingly everywhere for a replacement and have failed at getting the right size. I am hoping someone could steer me in the right direction as to where I can buy a new one. If I've measured her properly, the magnet measurements are 7mm x 2mm
      Any ideas? :o

      Thank you~~ <3

    20. I agree about making a "what fits" thread. I know rubyredgalleria.com shoes for pukipuki fit!! http://www.rubyredbjd.com/product.php?Category_ID=117

But aside from that, I'm at a loss, lol! I've only ever sewn for my girl, and I never tried any of my MH stuff on her... though I have a lot I could try. o_o
