Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Nakana Workshop Discussion

Dec 7, 2022

    1. Wow, she is stunning! Panya is definitely my favorite of their sculpts. The grey skin is very pretty too - it looks like sort of a muted tan color - very nice with that wig and dress!

    2. Hello! I have a Panya head and would love to know if a Nakana 1/3 head fits on a Supia 65 body? And how it looks? Did anyone try this?

    3. I wish I could help, sorry. If you ask Nakana though, they might have some reference from a buyer. Here is one with Volks SD16 (62cm) Nakana Workshop on Instagram: "Gorgeous feedback of doll Yvonne from Weibo@北山罔闻. That styling reminds of the legendary mixed-race concubine Yang of ancient China. #nakana #nakanadoll #bjd #bjdphoto #bjdsale #bjddoll #dollstagram #doll #bjdfaceup #handmade #art #dolls #bjdsales #couture #fashion #hanstyle #bjdinstagram #resindoll #artdoll #balljointeddoll"

    4. Oh I forgot to post update on my Panya here. I know this is not everybody's cup of tea but I absolutely LOVE this elderly Panya!

    5. @Lady Maeve This doll is is definitely my cup of tea - I love what you've done with her! She looks so elegant and classy. It's great to see an older doll.

    6. I LOVE this! I don't get to see many (any?) elderly dolls and was just telling my partner how much I would love to see some more elderly sculpts. I'm also VERY new to BJDs so I probably just haven't done enough digging yet lol. Beautiful job though!

    7. Hello!
Does anyone know if Nakana's head can sit on a fanff body?

    8. I have a Fan/FF head and a Nakana 56cm body, and they look great together. The bodies for both brands have 9cm necks so that’s a perfect fit.

But also, I find Nakana heads oversized for the body and Fan/FF a bit too pinheaded… so I think I would like the larger Nakana head better on the broader-shouldered Fan/FF body!

    9. Long time no post!
Nakana is running the annual sale, yay!!!
I am on fence to order new Yvonne head. The original one is made of different resin (non anti-UV) and has scuff on nose. I can keep or sell or toss the original head. I also feel like I should buy older sculpts since I see their sculpt is getting more and more stylised nowadays. Is anyone else on board for the sale this year?

    10. Gourgeous lady! Absolutely lovely how her skin has been painted:DI'd love to see more actually mature dolls.

Also what hybrids would you guys recommend for Nakana heads? I've seen the post with Fanff, but I'd like a body that's a bit broader but still more on the realistic side. It would be perfect, if it's suitable for various styles from more modern to medieval. So an overly muscular or toned physique isn't that suitable.

    11. I only recenty became aware of Nakana and, even though I haven't invested in a large doll for years, I couldn't resist the Panya sculpt. Had to try the grey skin too. I can't answer any hybrid questions since I ordered the Nakana body, really liked the smaller breast options.

I've been trying every wig I have on her and she looks wonderful in all of them. A few examples,

    12. From the measurements I see, I imagine Sartorial J would be good option. But they are too pricey just for "try outs" so I don't know for sure. I personally like Maskcat doll body. They fit perfect together, in my opinion.

    13. @phanuel It is so nice to see more gray skin examples! I am tempted to acquire one more Panya head in Gray so I can make young version of her, too. Also light tan doll just so I have all major skin colors. lol

    14. @Lady Maeve , I was intrigued by the description of "grey" being a "realistic color". But I've always considered a lot of the tan colors to contain too much of a yellow tone, especially when I first got into the hobby, so I gave it a go. Love it.
I have a Moppiedoll that also has a rather grayish tan.
It is difficult to choose a resin color sometimes. One of each works. :thumbup

    15. Sartoria J is beautiful and nicely mature! Price wise a bit on the higher end, though I can't seem to find the option for just a body. May I ask which Maskcat one you used? 57cm or 62cm?

    16. Supia ballerina body, 100%. I love to try heads on mine all the time and I can say that my Yvonne looked fantastic. Also worked on the older, discontinued Impldoll Star Woman body. And, for a different take, works seriously well on the Resinsoul Cen body. I plan to put my Yvonne on that body permanently. Just the tiiiiniest bit bobble headed, but with a wig, is negligible.

I would venture to say that the newest Impldoll bodies would work really well. Definitely the 68cm range, for sure. Also the 61cm bodies like the plump body I feel pretty confident would work well. At some point I will have both, just not at this time, lol!

Also, pretty certain they will work on the Resinsoul 68cm body as well. I had a Migidoll Mu head on mine, which was originally intended as a male head, and looked really well. Lots of options out there, just gotta decide what particular esthetic you're looking for is~ ^_~

    17. Ooh Supia I can definitely imagine! They have a similar sorts of feel. Yvonne is the one I like to most, so to hear she fits great is very nice:lol:Also interesting combo with Resinsoul:)

    18. If I get a chance, I'll try to take and upload some photos to share of the Yvonne head on at least those three bodies~ Might be some time, but I usually make it back around, lol

Supia's ballerina body is like a miracle body. There is almost no head I've put on it that didn't work or wasn't instantly transformed. I just finally placed an order for another to give to a verrrry old head of mine that's super precious to me! A Dollmore Lilis Liv. I had to open the neck for a perfect fit and I only wish I'd done it sooner so I would have already had the body here!

    19. I just looked it up. It is stunning!! Do you have photo of Nakana x Supia body combo?
