1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Narin Creative/Dollfair Waitlist and Resolution

Oct 16, 2010

    1. That looks to be the next step. I don't know how much longer anyone wants to wait to see if they get a response, but I guess when we have a majority ready to do something, we'll go ahead with it.

    2. Has anyone been to the Dollfair website lately? No dolls are advertised on there... I wonder if the makers of Limhwa & Supia are aware of this situation only because I know I would be hesistant to purchase one of their dolls through Dollfair...
Dollfair's reputation is now unquestionably at stake due to this situation and if we ultimateely end up getting ripped off we could warn potential customers of what happened to us.
This could do major damge to Dollfai, which is sad, really.

    3. This is possibly due to Limhwa and Supia having their own websites now. International orders for Limhwa appears to still be under Dollfair/Datatex, but Supia have been selling direct since last year and are no longer sold through Dollfair.

    4. I'm not involved here, but just wanted to confirm that the Limhwa site you linked there IS part of Dollfair. If you go onto the contact page, the e-mail address is a dollfair one. (and certainly it was through dollfair that I purchased my limho on that site)

I had no end of issues with Dollfair in the past and could never fathom where their supposedly excellent reputation came from, so I wish you all well and hope you don't allow them to get away with this!

    5. Supiadolls.com still takes you to a Dollfair/Datatex site, and it appears you can go through the entire ordering process, which is really scary -- even though Dollfair is no longer a dealer they seem to be holding on to the domain name.

    6. As far as I'm concerned, after this, whatever the outcome, Dollfair no longer has a reputation.
I truly fear the outcome is this: that we won't get our refunds or dolls/Neferti heads.
I also fear that we would have to file legal action separately. So, what if I had to pay a lot of money to reclaim $150? Is it worth it?
Maybe this is what Dollfair is hoping: that we will just give up and forget about it.
However, I think the longer we wait, the harder it will be to get satisfaction. We need to act quickly, like, this week.

    7. This is from over a month ago (11/29/10).... sounds very promising, eh?

    8. This is from 11/16/10... pay particular attention to the last paragraph : "nobody is going to get abandoned by me", "Nobody will be left out"..
These are strong reassurances but still nothing has happened.
EVERY DAY , from NOW ON,, I am e-mailing whatever e-mail addresses are affiliated with dollfair... the squeaky wheel gets the grease... I advise you all to do the same.
Our money is hard-earned and is not chicken feed contrary to what they might think. How dare anyone take me or anyone else for fools? I'm still flabbergasted over the real big fish tale "Half the heads have been sent out"... then the excuse with the magnets. What is the excuse now?? The time for excuses is over and we need to do something to get satisfaction...

    9. I'm not sure inundating them with emails will be successful; it may just create a flood that they won't be able to wade through, and no-one's will be replied to.

    10. That's true Haru-jen... maybe one person could send an e-mail everyday one everyone's behalf...
I just really REALLY resent getting taken advantage of and I feel so helpless doing nothing.

    11. The helplessness is what really sucks, I totally agree. Some of my emails have made it clear that several people here are on the verge of filing fraud charges.

      Edit:

I have researched the IC3 complaint form, and the Better Business Bureau complaint system. It appears we have more than enough cause to file with either or both.

      https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/getstarted.aspx

      http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx

People need to decide for themselves whether or not this is the proper time for such action. I'm giving it 48 hours more starting from tomorrow morning (48 business hours), then it's very likely I'll file.

    12. My thoughts on all this is that if Catrina was genuinely trying to resolve this she would have done so long ago.
I am not sure if I am understanding properly the amount owing to customers but if it's just mainly Neferti heads and a few bodies I figure $10,000 should cover it. I'm guessing she has a doll collection or something else of value she could sell to raise the money if she really wanted to satisfy her customers but at this point her reputation in in ruins so maybe she figures she will save the money and bow out of the doll world and forget us.

I think it is time to take action. We should all file a complaint with one of the links that haru-jen has provided above.

    13. Kaye, I was looking at these figures myself too.

First of all I'm SHOCKED that this is still going on. I was fortunate to be in the first group of refunds & am just catching up as to where you guys are at :(

My first thought is this...Catrina had to take a loan to pay the first round of refunds, correct?
What if, with Dollfair's now reduced income, she has been unable to secure another loan?
Supia sells direct as well as Bimong now right? That's gotta be a huge chunk of Dollfair's income.
And with her health issues of late, maybe she just doesn't know what to do, or how to proceed...hence her silence?

But like you say...she has her doll collection she can sell.

So maybe she has thrown in the towel, so to speak?

I'm with you guys though, enough is enough.

    14. I'm also thinking of legal actions, we are at least 3 from France on the Neferti order... Unfortunately, it's really complicated, I'm not sure that we can do anything from abroad T_T

    15. it's easy for usa people to do that, but what's for oversea ppl? what should we do?

    16. Catrina has stated that she did have to sell off her doll colllection.
Ok, so what about the $4,500.00 collected just for the 30 Neferti heads? Where did that money go?
Haru-jen, thank you so much for the links you provided. I am going to give dollfair 48 hrs as well: either a shipping notice or refund.
I can't sit around on my hands hoping for something that does not obviously exist.

    17. I paid $450 ~(inc shipping) for a Sleetwealth Briar on November 1st, having absolutely no knowledge that all of this was going on. I was expecting the doll to ship within the week as it was "In Stock", blank and nude. I would have waited longer perhaps without worrying but I was informed that the doll was being delayed because of a broken head cap. Then I was told the magnets were glued in the wrong way up into the new headcap, which was also damaged as a result. Then I was waiting for yet another headcap to be cast. I informed Catrina during a lengthy phone call that I don't care if the doll is without a head cap, I have repeated this since in writing and also stated that I would happily accept a refund if the doll is too damaged to send out. I just wanted a resolution, as I'm sure do all of you. I was informed on December 15th that my doll was finally shipping the next day and that I would be sent a tracking number. I've heard nothing since.

It shouldn't take so long from the USA to the UK, but maybe Christmas and all the weather flight delays have gotten in the way. I have no tracking number and no replies so have no way of knowing what's going on, if anything.

Catrina seems like a nice person struggling under the weight of some huge events and I would be willing to give her another week to sort this out but some of the stories I've been told are really beginning to frighten me. 2010 was without doubt the worst year of my life and I bought that doll as a Christmas present to myself because I was so low. Now, it just seems to have been 2010's final kick in the teeth. I wish I had never ordered it as the worry over the last 2 months has been ridiculous, I can't imagine how you must all feel dealing with this for so long.

I just need to think this will reach a resolution one way or another in the next few weeks. I just don't know what to do now.

    18. Vonbonbon, why don't you contact the sculptor of Briar, who is a member on DoA? I'm sure she won't want her doll's reputation to be tarnished and might be able to resolve the situation for you.

    19. Vonbonbon, You got her on the phone? What number did you use? I tried the one listed on her paypal info, but it said the mailbox was full. What else did she have to say? anything about all the other outsatnding orders, etc?

      Thanks.

    20. I don't think this will be much help: She rang me which was pretty surprising. I didn't even realise that my number was on the order, I don't know where she could have gotten it otherwise. This was about 6 weeks ago. She talked about how stressful everything was, how she was trying to train someone to answer the emails but it wasn't working out and now she was going to let that person go.

She said at the time that the only refunds left to go out where for a few people in Russia who she was having trouble finding a way to refund because Paypal has a different system in Russia, something like that. There were a few more left to sort out that had complications, where records weren't clear or where there was some other issue, but she said she was finally getting on top of it, that was the impression I got. She was also trying to prepare for an upcoming doll fair that she was already committed to, the impression that I got was of someone trying to do too many different jobs with no help or back-up system.

I've never spoken to her before or since and don't know her at all but she seemed really genuine and also sounded ill, breathless, so I think the story of being hospitalized for pneumonia is true. I just don't know what to make of any of this, she seemed utterly convincing on the phone and I am normally a very good judge of character, at least face to face. The story of mine being the last blank Briar, that the head cap was cracked, needed a replacement and then the new assistant had glued the magnets in upside down: it seemed unfortunate but plausible, as with the tale of the refunds and how much this year has affected her health. Maybe I'm gullible but I believed it all and trusted that she would come through for all concerned.

I still wonder if she has had a relapse with the pneumonia, I had it a few winters back and can be pretty hard to shake off, plus the Holidays will have set things back as well. I still want to give her the benefit of the doubt, I realise that it's been SO MUCH longer for the rest of you and understand that you have reached your limit. I just don't know what to think anymore and like the rest of you, can't afford to just wave goodbye to such a large amount.

Anita Collins/Sleetwealth Studios sculpted Briar, I was in a doll club with her a while back and know she is pretty hard to contact at the best of times, I'm not sure if she would be able to do much either. I think like everyone here, I just want to be told one way of the other. I really hope for all of us that she can still pull Dollfair out of this nose-dive and get the rest of the refunds out and send me the doll I bought, head cap or not.
