Narin Creative/Dollfair Waitlist and Resolution

Wow!! That would be super to go to the IDEX!! I wish I could go but I live in New York and have to work... :-(
I would hunt her down and see how she can explain herself... oh man I wish I could go!!
Aside from that, that sounds like a huge doll show with lots of vendors.. you'll have a blast!!!

 

Please, everyone. Can you not hunt Catrina down until I've had a chance to speak with her? I am asking respectfully. I know that everyone is angry with her and rightfully so. But PLEASE...just enjoy IDEX, which is a boatload of fun anyway, and leave the pitchforks and torches in your hotel rooms until otherwise notified.

I imagine that Dollfair dropped out of exhibition mode because it costs thousands of dollars to be an exhibitor and you cannot sell anything as an exhibitor. I imagine that if she paid in advance, she got the money back so she could refund you. We sold things at the BJD Garage Sale after the official convention, where many other popular BJD dealers did as well. She may fork out the few hundred it costs to be in the retail room, which is smaller and you can sell things. I don't know, we will see.

Again, everyone, if you're going to the show, please just go to enjoy it, it's tons of fun.

 

I am sorry, but I find the idea of her attending IDEX or having a representative attend IDEX offensive.

She owes out THOUSANDS of dollars and is supposedly too sick to do anything... She shouldn't be there.

Any money she makes should be spent paying back these people before she does anything EXTRA.

I cannot imagine you talking to her is going to help any of these people, or make anyone happy or get them their money back. And I think the last thing anyone wants is to be told by a third party (AGAIN) what they have already been told in the past.. which clearly has been lies and deception.

The resolution to this situation is going to happen when Catrina herself lays it all on the table. The jig is up.. she needs to start responding to these people and being HONEST.

If she goes under it will drag Limhwa and Enchanted Doll down with her, and that would be a terrible shame. She has already done damage to their reputations by association.

If she attends IDEX I certainly hope no one stands in the way of the people of this forum in speaking to her. What she is doing is horribly wrong and she needs to be held accountable.

 

I've attended IDEX with Catrina since 2007, we always shared a booth together so I KNOW exactly the cost of the booths. A 10X10 booth at IDEX costs $1750 on the main showroom floor. 2 artists can share the booth for $900 each. So $1750 is a lot of money---money which can be used for refunds.

 

With all respect about your support for Catrina, I have to say that there is overwhelming evidence against her. I have confirmed with two people that live near her that she is in perfect health.

While I know everybody is entitled to their opinion and that you are just trying to help there is no reason for someone to believe at this point that Catrina is some sort of victim.

Three separate artists that have worked with her have been stolen from and lied to. They have posted their stories to warn people about Catrina.

This isn't just effecting us sitting the the waiting room hoping and waiting, it's effecting a large part of the BJD community whether they know it or not. If you keep up with the blog I have created you will see what I mean, and I will be adding much more to it later today.

I will be sick if she goes to IDEX actually because where is she getting the money to go? She told yet another artist that she was having to take out a second mortgage on her house to just issue refunds, yet she's spending the money to travel from Ohio to Florida to go to IDEX? That's a gross waste of money that could go towards taking care of her current customers who have been waiting as far back as 2009.

Also with all this talk about her illness, how is she healthy enough to go to IDEX and be active?

The stories she tells do not add up.

I will not stand by and continue to give Catrina a pass on ANYTHING. She KNOWS there is nothing we can REALLY do to get refunds or dolls, SHE KNOWS IT. That's why she is not replying. She is counting on this situation to just blow over like all the other times she has caused problems for customers. This isn't the first time Dollfair has lied and deceived people, it's just the biggest.

So I would ask that before you come in here and tell us to put our pitch forks away that you consider that maybe the person that you are supporting is not the great person you want to believe she is.

Our pitch forks are all we have.

Nobody is going to make a scene at IDEX, we're not idiots.

I'm not sure I am allowed to post on this thread, but I have been asked if my comments on another thread about Catrina and Dollfair could be used on a blog so I have read the this whole thread.

First, Catrina has been at IDEX for a number of years. I first met her in 2008. I will not go into that encounter here, however if anyone was wondering if this is the show she was mentioning, yes, in all likelihood it is.

Secondly, Ophelia, you are incorrect stating that exhibitors can not sell items at IDEX. Catrina herself was selling a Narae with a faceup by Paul Pham at the 2008 IDEX. She also sold at least two dolls there. I happen to speak with both people that day who purchased the dolls directly from her. Also, exhibitors are allowed to take orders for their products, sell items in the exhibit hall, and sell IDEX exclusives. I personally have purchased items from exhibitors in the exhibit hall over the years.

Thirdly, I agree with Ophelia that IDEX is a wonderful, fun experience. BJDs are not the focus and going there to hunt Catrina down would cost more than you have already lost and would be disruptive to the event. Since Erin lives in Jacksonville, she could probably see if Catrina is there, but if she isn't listed in the exhibitor list, she isn't going to be there. You could always contact Jill who is over IDEX for more clarification. I usually attend IDEX every year since I live very, very close, but this year my daughter has auditions in Miami that weekend so we can't go.

If she were to attend the Garage Sale she could sell stock in hand, which is what she did last year. That would give her more money for refunds, yes? If she has any.

I find your attitudes to myself sickening. I did want to see if there wasn't a way this could all be worked out, that maybe I could assist her with getting all of this cleared out. But each post I see here addressing me makes me less inclined to help.

Enjoy IDEX. It's a fun show. That's all I will say on the matter from now on. I'm bowing out of this thread.

 

That's right, we are not idiots and we would not cause a scene. When I said "hunt Catrina down" I meant that figuratively. To clarify, it would be interesting to see her there selling her wares OR buying stuff for herself WITH OUR MONEY!!!

 

I'm sorry that you feel attacked OpheliaB, I doubt that was anyone's intention. The simple fact is that a lot of people are angry, anxious and afraid that they will never see either their money or their dolls again. A lot of people have come on the thread, myself included, thinking that Catrina is an honourable woman and will somehow pull the rabbit out of the hat and sort this mess out even now at this late stage... but her continued silence simply seems like an addmission of guilt. You cannot blame people for feeling angry, and unfortunately, to stand up in support of the object of that anger, you must have realised that you would get some flack. I'm not saying it's right, just that it is understandable when people are under stress.

I bare you no ill will but would just like to ask that you speak to Catrina and ask her to do the right thing, try and talk sense to her and get her to make a statement letting everyone know exactly where they stand. It's as simple as that really

There was another member who vehemently supported Catrina and made it clear that she was very upset with everyone here, some more than others (cough), but she recently apologized and now feels that the situation is worse than she thought. Read through, you'll likely see who I'm refering to.

BTW, I have a huge amount of respect for her for saying so publicly, it took courage to do so. Just an aside meant for her, not aimed at all at you, OpheliaB.

 

I am generally an good natured person that can make allowances & take excuses from someone... to a point. Let me explain a little transaction that occurred between Catrina & I right after I sent her payment for the Neferti head.
I needed a body for that head. I chose Ylisande's body that was being sold by Enchanted Doll thru Dollfair.
I e-mailed Catrina that I'd like to order a pinky white body if it was available.
She said she had only a blushed body in stock and that would cost me $100.00 extra the cost of the body. Fine. I sent her payment for the blushed body. She stated she would send me a tracking number that week.
A few weeks went by with no tracking number. So I inquired where the body was and she stated, point blank, that due to humidity, she could not airbrush doll parts, my doll body included.
And here she told me the body was already blushed....!!!! But I let it go, because I had ordered the body for Neferti, then changed my mind and requested the Ylisande body instead.
Catrina had been always very kind that way, accommodating little requests like that within reason. So I forgave that indiscretion at that time, even though it was $100.00. (I REALLY wanted that Ylisande body... they are awesome!!)
Now in retrospect, she did that to make $100.00 extra from me. She took advantage of me and now I learn from a lot of people on a very large scale.
I think everyone who has been duped has a right to be upset and Catrina needs to know that. No doubt she is reading this board;
not responding to e-mails and phonecalls does not give us a chance to VERBALIZE (not torch her, use pitch forks, even HUNT her down- the inflammatory word that I used AND will own up to.that caused a knee-jerk reaction on Ophelia's part in defense of her friend)... the months of waiting, the occasional promises & reassurances that our dolls will be delivered and then months of silence has caused a lot of tension in us who once had a lot of faith in Dollfair. I personally find this board comforting knowing that a lot of others are in the same boat as me and people are working hard to find out information about the going's on of Catrina.
I will not refrain from posting my thoughts in a tactful manner.

 

Hey guys.... so .... I haven't posted this in awhile but those of you who haven't filed an IC3 with the FBI should probably do so now.

It's important to file, not just for your own well being, but the more complaints we file, the more likely it is that the problem will get noticed and investigated.

Please also write or call Paypal, your bank or your credit card company and at least explain the situation to them, there is still a chance they will be able to refund you given the extreme circumstances.

Also if you call paypal, even if they refuse to refund you file a complaint about Catrina and give them the email address she uses for Paypal.

If you paid through paypal with a credit or debit card you can still file chargeback with the companies or banks that issued the card. The 3 month limit does NOT apply in that situation.

 

iamsiam71, you should continue to post your thought as should EVERYONE else. It's the only way the situation can be made any sense of.
It is a little rough to say when you are wrong, but it's much worse to stick your head in the sand. If you screw up, you need to own it. IMO. Referring to myself here, not you iamsaim71.
I still feel that Catrina is a good person who got herself into a horrendous mess. I could be wrong, I hope I am not.

 

I paid with my Visa. I was wondering how to go about doing the chargeback, I think I am going to try this soon. Hopefully my bank is nice enough, I heard some people weren't so lucky getting theirs to chargeback.
