Said it on the blog and will repeat it here, THANK YOU, Nocturne of Silence for grabbing the bull by the horns and staying with this when YOU already had your refund and could easily have just sat on the side lines watching this fiasco unravel. It takes guts and a social conscience to stand up for other people when they are too confused, sad and bewildered to organise themselves.

Perhaps you speculated on your blog, as is your right, I don't see how that translates as slander really as you never stated your opinions as fact as far as I can tell. I thought the right to free speech was part of the US constitution or whatever it's called?

I still think Catrina probably didn't start out to make such a mess and she probably thought she could sort this all out and refund everyone. That's just me speculating. The way she runs her business is now shown to be shambolic: Fact. If it was run properly with all the paperwork to hand then it would be easy for Denis/Jo, Mickey Mouse to step in and sort out the refunds and new orders. A LOT of people have handed over their money in good faith and never seen the doll they bought and have been ignored/given the runaround, when they have asked for refunds. Again, fact, whether this is down to a chaotic and mismanaged business or fraud is speculation, and courts get to decide the distinction.

I still have some sympathy for Catrina's (assumed) situation but she could easily have managed this whole thing a lot better by tackling things head on, so could Denis/Jo. Why have there been no statements issued to let all these customers know exactly what is going on and exactly what they are doing to remedy the situation. Why is there no refund schedule?

Whatever, I will be filing with the Ohio Attorney's Office later, already done the rest. Good luck everyone.

 

Wow, nocturne, you have been very helpful and a powerful ally in this unfortunate situation. Please know that your help is greatly appreciated by many, and I have already joined in filing like you suggested. I wouldn't have know about those tools without your guidance, and if it helps me or anyone else recover their money or their dolls, then I will continue filling out whatever I have to. You can't be slanderous when you are trying to warn people about doing business with a company that is known to be untrustworthy....you are a financial advisor

 

Ok I will call tonight, or actuallly, I will get my father to call on my behalf, since it was his paypal/bank account the money came out of.

I'm angry for my own money but I feel worse for people who orderd more then just a head. I feel like I made a lucky escape somewhat at this point by not buying much but I would be so stressed out if I had $500 just gone.

Thanks again Nocturne, and I think if a newspaper report was amde in the local newspaper that might really help. What could be more shameing then that?

Thanks to all of you who have posted your support of nocturneofsilence
and all that she has done to try and help everyone resolve this mess
and receive their dolls and refunds.

A few members of this thread have sent PM's to nocturne and what they
said was truly awful and very hurtful. Obviously, they are cowards. Whether or
not nocturne says things that these cowards don't agree with she is the
one standing out in front doing the difficult work and taking the risks for
everyone else. I know nocturne has been ill herself but that didn't stop
her from working on this project and keeping in touch with this thread.

I felt it was important to remind those who she has helped to keep encouraging
her efforts. These cowards haven't done anything but spend time in a
blog room complaining month after month...then when someone tries to help
they attack. It is beyond me that the very people who have been cheated,
betrayed and ignored by Catrina stand by her and attack nocturne even as
she's trying to help them.

Just want to add my heartfelt "Thank You" to nocturneofsilence for her hard work on behalf of those here. Please just ignore the jerks who have PM'd you with hurtful comments. The good people here know you ROCK!

Oh, my. I'm sorry to hear that that happened. :C This is no place for that. It's business. I would like to thank you again for your help in contributing resources for us to find a resolution.

 

If it wasn't for Nocturne's PM to me, I would still be totally oblivious to the mess I wandered in to when I ordered a Limhwa To You Sara on December 31. After reading around some of the places she suggested, I fear now that I will never receive my doll.

Soul-crushing worry? Yes, because the Sara is the first doll I've fallen in love with in a long time. I had already picked her name and started building her a dollhouse.

I guess I'll wait until the dispute limit on my credit card and then file a claim. It's still early for me, so I'm trying to hold out some hope.

I thank Nocturne for the "heads-up" and encourage her to ignore the sour grapes. "Fore-warned is fore-armed" after all . . . .

I want my Limhwa Elly so badly. She's my first love, and my top of the top wish list.
I also have a name for her, and brought many clothes.
However, I saw these problems. It's a year long, and Dollfair is doing nothing about it.
I just cannot help being worry. All I know is I should not put myself in risk.
I have already disputed them on Paypal for my right.
You know what? After I dispute, it was the first time they reply me e-mails in this whole month.
Saying that it's because of the holidays blah blah blah... and asking me to close the dispute because of something about Paypal frozen.
In fact, they should dispute me through Paypal, not my personal e-mail!
Moreover, they should have my money as soon as I made the order last month. what da heck is Paypal frozen?
What's going on with the holidays? The October costumers still didn't receive their dolls.

As far as I know, I won't close the dispute as they want me too.
It's an only weapon I have

 

I've dealt with my credit card company before on another fraud issue (ID theft) and I trust them to take very good care of me and remove the charge if and when I dispute it. I'm less worried about the money because of this; because I know I can get it back. At this point I'm just really sad and worried about the doll that I may or may not receive. She is Amara Serhilde and even if she never comes, I will always think of her as Amara; something like a child lost before its birth. I had such hopes and dreams for her and now they may fall away without any fault of my own.

*sigh* I suppose I'll wait 30 days or so and then start filing along with everyone else.

 

Thanks for your diligence, Nocturne. Though I can understand people getting defensive about more speculative information, there's an overwhelming amount of damning info on Dollfair from the past year and I think your efforts have helped a lot of people.

The timeline is really fascinating to get a perspective on all that has happened so far. Although I came in late to the whole refund period I feel lucky to have had an amiable resolution to my order. It's especially troubling to see how the Neferti orders have been strung along since October.

Bimong recently posted a warning on his website about the existing Dollfair website and urging people not to purchase from them

 

This is the same information I posted on the Limwha thread. If you go through the process of choosing your doll on the Limwha site it takes you right to Dollfair/Datatex for payment and the funds goes directly to them, not Limwha.

There is also a post on the Limwha thread that Limwha notified a buyer that she never received the order from Dollfair to make her doll. This is just like our Narae problem...Dollfair keeps selling dolls but no one receives them.

Madzcow, I hope you'll let the members in the Limwha thread know what's going on with Dollfair and your purchase...it's difficult to read everything on DOA so we have to help each other.

 

This is just on a personal note, but I feel it's worth saying. I collapsed last night with incredibly bad stomach pains and a temperature, an ambulance was called but in the end I was not taken to hospital, I am now facing the wait to find out if I have a stomach ulcer. This is just the culmination of a very bad year, probably the worst in my life. The Dollfair incident has proved to be the straw that broke the camels back for me and symptoms that have been mild earlier in the year have been aggravated to the extent that I can no longer sleep and rarely eat without huge discomfort. I cannot turn off the "worry".

I have previously hesitated about inflicting more of that same worry on poor Catrina by filing charges, but what about me? I just bought a doll from a website in good faith, as did countless others. Maybe a lot of you are younger than me and so the stress doesn't manifest itself in such a physical way, I hope so. I just wonder about those individuals that have decided to round on Nocturne of Silence: Catrina alone deserves respect, pity, help does she? The rest of us are nothings and can go to hell? Isn't that what you are saying? Go away quietly and do not bother the cause of your anxiety anymore?

vonbonbon, I am so sorry to hear about your illness. It's amazing how something like this can color your life. I can't say I know how you feel as no one knows really how anyone else feels, but I can sympathize and I also feel nervous and out of sorts as I am still waiting in limbo for Bimong to fill my order which hopefully he will do. I and everyone else has spent an inordinate amount of mental time on this situation. I am saddened by what has gone on, and I feel badly for you, myself, Catrina, and everyone else that is still waiting. It seems to be bad all the way around.
Nocturneofsilence, I am sorry that you are being attacked, although I can't really judge what you are doing as right or wrong, but having been the target of many attacks, I do know how that feels.
