I have emailed Kathy Dolly, the contact person for exhibitors listed on the IDEX website. I gave a very brief description of what's happening here without much detail; I offered to be more specific if she'd like to hear more, and directed her here and to the blog. At least they know about it now.
Considering the number of individuals and money amounts involved here....I think IDEX should be very interested....to protect the interests of IDEX and the doll community in general. If there is any question of fraud and someone knows or is passively involved....it does not reflect well on all. The Dollfair BBB rating is now F. As a seller, Dollfair no longer responds to those here. I used to get answers to emails and such. I've gotten nothing since I placed my order in June 2010....until hearing back from Bimong today. Definitely not good history for a vendor. Just a thought....do not think it would not look good for IDEX to have the FBI, or other officials show up with possible criminal charges on one of their vendors.

Haru-Jen, Catrina is friends with the Former Editor in Chief of Doll Reader Jill Jackson, which is the same organization that puts on IDEX. I wouldn't be surprised if she is there in all her glory seeing as Jill is still active with Doll Reader even though she is no longer the Editor in chief.. I guess Bernie Madoff must have had friends who let him continue to do what he was doing, even after they knew something was going on..
It really is difficult to type this while laughing so hard. Thanks IDEX, we appreciate the friendly warning from your minion Ophelia. However, I'm in total agreement with you. My advice, in case y'all have forgotten what Oph accused us of in this thread is DO NOT attempt to get by security with pitchforks and burning torches. Those long forky prongs would be a dead give away that we're up to no good and the burning torches would no doubt be smelly and set off the fire alarms. BUT most importantly DO NOT TAKE ANY PICTURES, PLEASE! We don't want there to be any proof another fraud is being committed. So please just watch what is going on with a calm eye and demeanor, stifle those violent tendencies with medication and as OpeliaB has said with so much wit. Just have fun, fun, fun PS Also watch that "silent disruption" she mentioned
That's a pretty disappointing response from IDEX. I would have hoped they would take more pride in their event to at least investigate or look in to the matter. Throwing back your 'no harassment or disruptions' policy (as if she expected Haru-Jen or other attendees to make a scene or something) is just bad form :/ The fact alone that she hasn't shipped the Neferti heads, despite her own website saying she would in October, should be cause for concern to anyone. Well, that and the public disownings from several of her represented sculptors.
That's the way of the business world... Catrina has friends in higher places and she is screening herself behind them. What we took as a benign hobby, these people are only interested in making money. How much money has Catrina not refunded to us? $10K or more?
... that is a lot of money to us, but to these people: chickenfeed. The people who run the IDEX, let's not forget they own antique dolls that easily fetch more than $10k apiece. A lot of the people who attend these are well-monied and IDEX is aimed at making as much $$ from them. That's ok though, because Catrina has to go to bed with her conscience at night. And anyone who protects her, they are just as guilty; I don't give a damn how influential they are in the doll community.

Thanks so much!!! The timeline isn't mine, but something someone else took the time to make, but they wanted to remain anonymous... but it is pretty awesome! I'm glad to hear the blog has been useful for so many people, and many people contributed to it! I think that's what this community is all about. The biggest part though is the artists that take the time to create the dolls we love too, they are the unsung heroes and it makes me really sad to see the ones that worked with Dollfair so devastated. Without the artists, there would be no dolls.
