1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Narin Creative/Dollfair Waitlist and Resolution

Oct 16, 2010

    1. The message/question posted by Maria about Narin/Narae situation was deleted on the Limhwa yahoo group.

      Messages since then:

IMHO....the answer by Jo Ross does not explain the silence to those here and the BBB.

    2. I think Jo Ross & Catrina are the same person.

    3. I'm going to continue to comment on the Yahoo thread. Jo Ross can comment about our situation to the Limwha customers but not to us?! What does that say about their business practices altogether?

    4. I think your dead on! no one would speak about the issues their employer was having with that many "I" statements.. if I worked for someone who was in this much deep doo doo I would be considerate, and compassionate with the person talking to me, but I would distance myself from the events and the unpleasantness as much as possible.

I actively think about things like this from my years of customer service, and most people passively think like that and it shows in how they write things..

This HAS to be her.. no one takes their employers issues that personally!

    5. I kinda wondered that from the start. What a horrible way to cop out of doing anything about the multitude of customers who are still left with nothing. *shakes head* :/

    6. I'm starting to wonder. The message sounded like Catrina's speech/writing style, and she refers to things from long before "Jo Ross" supposedly came on board:

"Bad news for me was that the merchant system we had for six years locked me out of the database when it switched."

"we have been working with Limhwa now for 5 years and everything has always been fine and her work is always impressive."

    7. I posted another message on the board. Let's see if that one is erased as well.....

    8. Well since the guy in the building next door said Catrina was the only person entering or leaving the building, except for her husband, it's pretty clear that she is Jo Ross.

Also there is nobody by the name of Jo Ross living anywhere near where Dollfair is located. Also no Josephine, Joseph, Joanna, Joanne... etc etc etc.... so unless Jo is commuting from Nebraska, I'm sure it's Catrina..... whose legal name is Catherine btw... hahaha

    9. /epic facepalm. This is identity ridiculousness at Sybil levels to the point where it's almost silly.

    10. Ha HA HA!!! Deku, that's hilarious!! But also isn't a crime to use an alias to string along one's customers??

    11. well I wonder what the state of Ohio would have to say about her undocumented employee Jo?

    12. I ordered a Nefertiti head way back when most of you did, and then I find out about this very frustrating situation. I kept tabs on this thread to see if the situation would resolve. I was really hopeful when I saw some of Catrina’s post. I didn’t check this thread as much as I should have. Now I’m just confused on what to do. I really just want the head. I also see that there is http://www.art-bimong.com/, and that La renard sent Bimong her order information. I am so confused of what to do. I remember reading something about the heads being cast, or they were going to be cast. Is there some updata on this that I am unaware of or haven’t found? Anyway, any advice on this is greatly appreciated. Best wishes and may this mess end for us all.

    13. @ghost reflection,
I think you should sent your order information to Bimong too. Catrina promises to cast the heads, but nobody have seen the heads or the pictures of the heads.
(there is a lot of usefull information about all the things
      http://dollfair2010.blogspot.com )

    14. This makes me so angry. Originally I believed Catrina, that she got a raw deal with Bimong and that she would sought everything else. Then I thought, maybe Bimong and Catrina might have had a misunderstanding, that it was six of one, half a dozen of the other, that both sides fell short somewhere along the way and ended up in one huge mess. I told myself that she probably didn't go out originally to defraud us, that her intentions might have been originally honest and she ended up in an awful situation way over head, one she didn't know how to deal with. I believed that she was sick, that she had no money to pay us back. I still hoped she would come through, but I thought even if she didn't, intent does count for something. I thought sure, she's completely useless and she's a thief but everyone makes mistakes, sometimes big mistakes. I told myself you've got to be pretty desperate to take $150 from someone, maybe she really needed that money. And if she dropped out of the doll scene now, never came back, never hurt anyone like this again, I at least, probably would have found forgiveness for her in my heart...

But instead she has the gall to go on as if nothing ahs happened, replying to emails and sending out her Limwha orders and even running an event (how much planning/organisation does that take - how much time and manpower she apparently didn't have when it came to dealing with our inquires?) and turning up at IDEX (which costs money, our money) - most insulting she makes up a stupid fake name and thinks that will fool us? Please tell me this is a joke…/She thinks we were born yesterday?

Catrina is rotten to the core. I'm so upset. I can’t believe there was someone like this was in our community all along, at that we believed her, actually worried abut her. She made fools of us all.

    15. Thanks, though I never got any order information. She took me request over email and never gave me any order information. Wow, I feel like an idiot right now. I do have the confirmation number from paypal, or I should somewhere.
      Thanks again

    16. I should keep out of it after I got the Visa refund but I need to see you all get resolution: I keep wondering/hoping that for some insane reason she thinks the way out of this mess is to forge on with the show and the Limhwa sales so that she has the money to repay everyone on this thread what they have been owed for so long.

BUT, if she were planning to do that, it still doesn't excuse ignoring everyone and leaving people in the dark for almost a year. This is a business she is running and that means she can't just write off all the money she took in good faith from people for dolls. You all have a legally binding contract with her and her alone, she can't just chose whether to honour that contract surely, and carry on the rest of her business as though nothing has happened?

I don't understand business law, particularly not in the States, but if she owed this money to a bank or one company, they could force her into liquidation surely? Can't a group of people band together and threaten the same sort of action? Aren't there free/State funded lawyers/solicitors in the US who take on that kind of thing?

    17. That's what I want to know also. I keep on hearing about class-action lawsuits here in the US and it seems pretty common throughout the years. All I know is that for a class-action lawsuit a group of people are represented as one in court but I really don't know the process and/or procedures of having one for this issue here. Or how much it will cost to get a lawyer to handle it.

Doing some research on class-action lawsuits and thought people would be interested in this and this.

    18. Sillypeach - you are not the only one. Originally, I thought her biggest issue was that she needed to up her communication skills. I was even planning to order a Ylisande to help support her. (Well, I wanted one of Twiglings dolls as well). So glad I didn't, she replied to one email then stopped and I figured I'd wait until some of the mess was cleared up. Reading the posts she made on DoA about Bimong and then how she was packaging up the Neferti heads etc, gosh - she was convincing. She sounded cheerful yet exhausted. Two months later, no doll heads have arrived and my biggest question is = why? Why would you write something that would so easily be proved false later on. Reallly don't understand her at all. Even her current claim that she's suing someone in Korea so can't discuss the issue. Convenient excuse why none of her proof has been forthcoming. The whole thing is amazing. The websites are what get to me the most, a lot of artists let her sell their creations and in return, when the contract ends and they leave, she lets the websites remain, probably to prevent them using the domain name. It seems rather vindictive. I don't know whether she can get her business restarted, but I know that in spite of wanting a Limhwa half-elf, I would never willingly deal with her.

    19. Whether she is suing someone in Korea or not is irrelevant anyway. That in no way impinges on her contract with all of you, you paid her to supply a doll, possibly through no fault of her own she could not complete that contract, therefore she is legally required to hand back the money OR cease trading altogether, in the UK at least. She doesn't get the option to carry on regardless.

That's the part I find baffling, perhaps she is doing this show and continuing with Limhwa sales just to get enough cash together to reimburse everyone here, BUT, she shouldn't be doing that without communicating her plans to you all. It's the silence I don't understand.

    20. Hey all! Gonna call a few lawyers today and see if they can have any recommendations. I really do need the complete amount of money she still owes everyone though because I can't call and be like "ummm yeah she owes people a bunch of money but I don't know how much." because I want them to take me seriously. >.<
I think if Catrina is found guilty she will have to pay all the lawyer fees... but not sure how that works anyways.

I'm going to update the blog later with Catrina's new yahoo post and some other things, sorry I've been lagging behind on that.

Hopefully someone that's on our side took a picture of her table at IDEX or at least stopped by to see what exactly she was selling. I'm still vexed at how the people that run IDEX don't seem to care at all. [redacted]
Hope you guys have an awesome weekend and that I get some good news from the lawyers.
