1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. This could be partially my fault..... i think there was something lost in the translation when I talked to him last night. I told him to be sure that he wasn't sending dolls to people who already have gotten refunds... I'm going to get in touch with him tonight and explain the paypal policy so he'll understand.

Don't get all worried or panicked yet, i think it was just a miscommunication. :)

And I think he has paypal refunds confused with credit and debit card chargebacks....

Also please keep in mind that while it's easy to blame Bimong or lose faith, etc.... it is LEGALLY Catrina's responsibility to refund you since it was her that accepted your money in the first place. Bimong is offering to fix someone else's wrong at his own expense. Also of about 30 people on the list, only 10 have filed with the Ohio Attorney General's office and even fewer have filed an IC3 with the FBI. I really really do appreciate the people who have filed because I appreciate that you are willing to do what it takes.... I want to remind everyone too that if you paid with a credit or debit card THROUGH paypal you can still file a charge back through your credit or debit card company.

So anybody in this room who has not paid with Paypal Balance can attempt to file a chargeback still. Vonbonbon's charge back was SUCCESSFUL, and she got her money returned.

I can post 1000 blog posts, keep reposting info... keep looking for information but when it comes down to it, YOU are the only one that can take those steps to help yourself.

      Keep on trying! :)

    2. I have filed with the IC3, BBB, the Ohio Attorney General, and the FTC. Yesterday I went to my bank to try to arrange a chargeback. They told me the bank policy was limited to 60 days, but when I pressed and explained my circumstances, they let me do the paperwork to try and get my money back.

I paid directly through my Visa, so I don't know what to tell Bimong. :/

    3. I am TOTALLY not upset with Bimong at all, and am grateful for all his efforts. I'm just concerned that he might not see the full scope of all we've done to try to contact Catrina. The statement, "I'm sure that she'll either issue a refund or contact you for a further discussion", just leaves me very worried. I hope he gets it that she has not, and will not, ever ever contact anyone again, and certainly never refund our money. And I got my hopes up. It's been such a roller coaster of emotions that I guess I'm more mad at myself for thinking that it was as good as a done deal.

I contacted paypal, and they allowed me to file a complaint/dispute despite it being so far past the deadline, but they also made it clear that they could not and would not be able to refund me. They can just open an investigation of Dollfair's paypal dealings. I did it because I'm hoping it might benefit others disputing their payments/refunds. Hopefully their (paypal's) denial will be enough for Bimong. And if by some miracle I do end up getting refunded, I'd send it to Bimong anyways.

    4. VERY interesting development... haru-jen (my mom by the way, figure it makes us make sense >_>) sent a letter via Certified Mail to Catrina.

      Today we got it back.

(sensitive information on our part has been blacked out). VERY interesting. Our postie said no one picked it up, but as it's shown, it just looks like it was never signed for, then never picked up. What do you think?

    5. Curiouser and curiouser. It suggests she is not at that address and has left no forwarding address either. At least that's a bit more evidence for paypal etc.

Someone on a UK forum said that in her Doll Reader Feb/March 2011 magazine there is an article which states:

"For 2011 Dollfair International plans to open a second location, in Wales, United Kingdom..."

Anyone able to shed any light on this? Does Dollfair think they can just move to another country (how??) and continue as if nothing has happened before?

    6. I wasn't going to post here anymore but yes, I do know something about this and if she does relocate I will be straight in my car to see her personally and get a bl**dy explanation for you all. I haven't aired this before because it seemed like personal information and I still don't know if I should be making it public, but Catrina, when she phoned me back at the end of November, said that she was seeing a man who lived just down the coast from me here in North Wales and asked if I could find out anything about resin casting in the UK because she was thinking of relocating. I have been very puzzled when her husband has been mentioned so much lately as she gave me the impression she has been with this man for some time, perhaps the husband is a business partner? Not really relevant I suppose.

I do wonder if she is thinking of re-registering her business in the UK and trying to wipe off all these debts? I don't even know if that is possible. Sorry if the mods feel this is inappropriate, I'm just responding to a direct question from someone who is still owed money. Please remove if this is inappropriate.

    7. .

I think the postal service leaves 3 notices that there is a certified letter for pickup. After 3 weeks a certified letter is automatically returned to sender if unclaimed.

So the 3 weeks passed..........Return to sender
      Notices left but......................Unclaimed (by addressee)
No forwarding info with PO......Unable to forward

Catrina could be there and didn't pick it up....or not there to pick it up.

    8. Yup, this is me. Amazing... and the whole Wales thing. I think she's bailing. She probably has a lawyer telling her to ignore all contact. In fact, when you're filing for bankruptcy, that's exactly what you're told to do.

    9. hey i tried to PM you back but your inbox thingy is full :)

    10. I guess I'll have to wait to see if my bank will reject me for the chargeback before I can talk to bimong or something. I feel like there's nothing else I can do about my money/doll.

    11. I got an email from Dennis that said he was looking into it..but no tracking number yet and no resolution...:(

    12. I emailed Bimong with the info that was requested, except for the confirmation email from dollfair. I told him that I had proof over paypal. I have not received an email back. In the email I received from him it said that if I filled out the needed information my order statutes would be updated. This was before I found out about the request to file for a refund. Should I still file for a refund? Or wait for Bimong to email me back? Sorry for being a bit ignorant about this:sweat. I’m in collage and I spend most of my time barricaded in schoolwork.

    13. File for a refund, i think that's the most important thing to do.

    14. To everyone that hasn't filed with the above-mentioned institutions: please, please, PLEASE, PLEASE do so. Those of us who have filed already have just about done all we can. We need your help so that everyone involved can try to get somewhere with this. Too few complaints means we just ger swept under the rug! Please, power in numbers!

I can't say it enough--IF YOU HAVE NOT FILED WITH THE BBB, IC3, FTC, AND OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL, PLEASE DO SO!

    15. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!

It really is very easy, it doesn't matter what country you're from, and it's definitely true, the more people who file, the more seriously it's taken. I've been told this directly.

AND an update... I just received a notice from the BBB saying that they've closed my case because Dollfair didn't respond. I do not understand how they can say that's it, the company didn't respond, so they're off the hook. The did say, however, than a non-responce will reflect negatively on their rating, so as said above, PLEASE FILE, EVEN IF YOU'RE CLAIM IS DUMPED!!! IT STILL HAS AN IMPACT!!! I'm going to post a copy of the letter they sent via email.

    16. I filed with the Ohio Attorneys office about a fortnight ago, did anyone else get an acknowledgement from them? I've had nothing back

    17. The only thing I got was this:

      Re: DollFair International/Datatex Media
      Complaint #: 711836

I am in receipt of your complaint concerning the above-named supplier. I have reviewed your complaint and will be corresponding with this supplier regarding your allegations. It could take as long as 90 days to get a response.

Let me explain the dispute resolution program we offer. We have sent a copy of your complaint to the supplier and requested that they respond to our office in writing. If, in their response, the supplier disagrees with your version of the problem, then our program may not work to resolve the issue. However, there may be other avenues of relief available to you such as Small Claims Court or your own private counsel, if either is applicable in your situation.

As soon as I receive any correspondence or information you will be notified. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

      Respectfully submitted,

      MIKE DEWINE

So does this basically say that if they get no response from Dollfair (we all know the answer to this) then consider the complaint closed? The same process was used when I filed my complaint with my local MN Attorney General office too. They wrote me a letter and wrote Catrina a letter and when there was no response back from her that was basically the end of that.

I'm working on my chargeback through my bank. Yesterday I sent them more documents so they can reopen my claim, do their investigate again and hopefully process it in my favor.

On another note, has anybody received a reply back from Bimong after e-mailing him your Paypal proof of not getting refund?

    18. Hhhmm, I never got anything from them and from reading that reply there is little point in me refiling. It looks as though they just act as an arbitrator on your behalf to get money refunded. I already have a refund. I assumed they were an authority who could instigate charges against a company but that obviously isn't what they are about.

Aren't there any Consumer Watchdog organisations you can contact in the States? Citizens Advice, or Trading Standards? There is a TV prog on the BBC called Watchdog that regularly take on case like this and hound the companies mercilessly until they refund people, but they have to be British based companies. There must be something similar in the States?
