I don't think we can do a group email on DOA? If someone draws up a message, I am willing to help send out PM's maybe if those of us who are here frequently divide up the people who are still owed and batch PM them?

OK, I'm not the right person to write the message, needs to be someone in the States who knows all the relevant departments. I think just something short and to the point that gives the steps they should/could take in bullet points so it's clear and simple. Point out that time is running out.

We could just refer them to the blog, where everything is already there in black and white but it wouldn't hurt to re-emphasize?

I will make a list of who we need to PM and if anyone who wants to help puts their name here, I'll divide the names and we can start sending the PMs out tomorrow. I don't think we are breaking any rules by doing this, it's not like we are spamming.

Would it be any use trying to PM a mod to ask about a group PM?

I went through the self updating list, 31 people waiting a refund, 4 refunded or received doll (Limhwa) and Stella Maris who we can't PM

 

Guys I've been functioning off my iPhone the past few days and that has been limiting.... I'm going to update the blog wit the "how to file a police report" thing..... If you know of anything else that I need to add please email me at [email protected]

I got mine too. Oh, my god, I am so afraid of the police report thing. I guess I'll have to get brave sometime. :S

 

What's there to be afraid of? Your money has already been stolen. How do you think I feel about the blog? It's scary for me to be the most public target.... The only thing you and others have to do is file reports, and you can even do it privately. The worst that could have happened has already happened... No money and no answers. Filing a police report is simple and presents no risks to you personally.

 

I_DekuPhantomme - think of it this way, if someone broke into your car and stole that money from your purse you would report it to the police, yes? That may not be how this happened but the end result is the same, the person who has your money is making NO attempt to pay you back or hand over the goods = Financial Crime.

So far all the messages I have had back are supportive and it sounds like people are mobilizing. Fingers crossed for everyone.

On a related note, are there any fluent Spanish/English speakers here who could volunteer to help one of our members fill out a report, please? I've offered to help with the english but my Spanish is just a few words!

 

Dambuster01 is an English/Spanish speaker, I'm sure she'd help if you pm her, say I suggested her as I'm a friend of hers.

I think what she means is that until now, everything was internet based, and with a police report it's face-to-face (here where we live, anyways); some folks have a more difficult time with in-person communications, it can be frightening. Also, and this is a major part of this, the police where we live can be complete jack asses. Her only interactions with them ever have been rather negative. It's a shame, but it's true. So that's what she meant... believe me, both she and I hugely appreciate that you, nocturne, have painted a giant target on yourself, and are grateful for everything you have done and are doing.

 

When is Catrina supposedly moving out of state?Because I want to make sure I file before that happens. I told them they have till friday to send me a refund.

Did you actually get heads from Catrina? Because this would be the first time there was even any physical evidence of their existence. I'd love to see pics, if you do have them.

I also think you may have taken what Agea said a bit out of context, and from a perspective that isn't necessarily accurate; I think she meant that she wouldn't do business with people who are currently involved with Dollfair, because there is a significant possibility that the dolls would not be made. Not the artist's fault, not because of the artist's actions, but because of a lack of action on Catrina's part. No one is ostracizing anyone. Well, except Catrina herself. If you're currently working with her, then people who know of this situation will certainly not buy from you... it's likely that they wouldn't get their doll. But if you're currently working through another company, then of course people would buy from you. It has nothing to do with past endeavors! Only your current casting partnership, and who that's with. And not remotely personal.

Also, we have no reason to believe she has not filed for bankruptcy; she's not likely to come here and announce, "hey guess what guys! I filed chapter 7 and you'll never ever see your dolls or your money and I'm totally off the hook!!" And bankruptcy isn't an overnight event... it takes months to go through all the steps. And one of the things you're told to do is completely ignore your creditors and anyone else who to whom you owe money.

And again, what I wouldn't give to see evidence of the Neferti's actually existing!! Though given everything that has (and mainly hasn't) happened, I'm very skeptical of this. Boy would I loved to be proved wrong.
