natural face ups or fancy face ups?

Jan 2, 2013

    1. Completely depends on the doll's character, but even natural face-ups has to have some drama in them. I like my dolls' face-ups to stand out in pictures, so I prefer heavier use of colour.

    2. It really depends on the doll/character's personality..... my planned himegyaru girl will have himegyaru makeup.....

and my tomboy girl will have pretty neutral makeup..... etc.

    3. I like them all! For me it depends on the character of the doll. Some are earthy, some are elegant, some are dramatic!

    4. ^^ I am very much like Silk. I prefer faceup design to be more natural; for me it has wider application, but the colours themselves I prefer to be stronger.

    5. I like both. For me, it really depends on the character :). But if I had to choose...I'd say natural.

    6. I really adore a great natural faceup. But I also like variety, so wonderful unique faceups are also appreciated... Most of my dolls are more natural, just because it is more easy to do different things with them.

    7. I prefer a more natural faceup unless the doll's personality calls for otherwise.

    8. I used to like 'em fancy, but I really just want them natural now.

    9. I tend to put more natural face ups on my dolls, but my percicom one has a slightly darker face up to match his personality, and my dollzone Yage was inspired by Blind Mag from Repo the Genetic Opera, so her face up is very dark with long purple eyelashes. (to match her LONG purple wig)

    10. I like natural face ups because it makes the doll more versatile, so with a change of the wig, eyes, & clothes it can have a completely different look.

    11. It really depends on the sculpt. Sometimes a more elaborate faceup can highlight a doll's high points, like gorgeous pouty lips or especially pretty eyes.

    12. I like natural ones better. I've seen some "fancy" ones that are pretty cool but I don't know.

    13. I found natural face up better because its universal with any outfit and photoshoot. Especially when my msd girl is a bit of a tomboy.

    14. I prefer dark-black natural faceups.
I generally give white skin dolls more dramatic faceups since I think it's a little bit harder to make them look "human".

    15. i'm not a big fan of fancy face-ups, i prefer natural, fresh, pinky/red face-ups. i'm just not really into fantasy dolls and even on real people i prefer no makeup or minimal makeup. its also easier to change the dolls look if it has a simple face-up.

    16. I have many dolls and some of them have fantasy face-up with tattoo or in beast style.
I have some craft style of my work, and I study to make more realistic face-ups only)

    17. I love natural face-ups because I don't get bored of them. :) I also love fancy face-ups, mostly of the fantasy type, but in the end the natural ones win out for me.

    18. I love both, because my dolls are different characters they required different face ups. I did most of them myself and I love doing fantasy and natural face ups, so that's what I do. Either way, I have no real preference for either.

    19. Personally I like all kinds of face-ups ^^ Especially if they're well-made. For my dolls I like natural face-ups because that's what fits their characters the best :)

    20. Depends on the doll. I usually like my own dolls to be more natural, and rather make their eye colours or wig style very wild than the actual face-up. However, I can really enjoy outragious face-ups on other people's dolls, so perhaps one day I'll have one as well.
