1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

natural face ups or fancy face ups?

Jan 2, 2013

    1. I usually prefer more natural faceups with lighter eyeshadow and stuff like that. I like smokey eye on myself, but not for my dolls, haha.

    2. Unless they are a fantasy doll, I dont like too crazy of a faceup..

    3. I tend to get natural ones as they are more versatile. I do like many unique ones that I have seen, but generally I will let how I wig and dress dolls determine their look.

    4. Natural. The more realistic, the more they look like tiny humans and that's the look I am aiming for because basically dolls are like our little children x3

    5. id definitely want natural makeup for my dolls, but i definitely do appreciate fancy faceups, if only for the lovely little details!

    6. Defiantly natural face ups, but if I had a fantasy doll I can see having something a little different, but I still would want it to be subtle!

    7. i like both.. but i prefer high fashion glam...

    8. I like both depending on the sculpt. Sometimes I like the natural look on certain sculpt while I like more fancy on another.

    9. I prefer natural face ups on my own dolls but i love to see the beautiful face ups on other people's dolls.

    10. I'd prefer a natural face up...simple because it is more versatile

    11. I prefer more natural face-ups but it really depends on what kind of character I have in mind for my doll.

    12. I prefere natural makeup for tiny doll, but for my msd it's more difficult , I love change his character and I change x5 his makeup! lol

    13. I don't totally know what the difference is for most people, but I really like very soft, feminine, stylized faceups. To give an example, I've adored Andreja with Nicolle's Dreams forever! I guess you could call those natural, but I think they definitely have a style to them. I love the smooth skin and perfect eyelashes, so those the faceups I tend to look for. :D

    14. I enjoy fantasy ones. With color and glam. The doll I ordered I got the factory faceup since I'm used to doing female makeup and doing male worried me.

    15. Definitely depends on the character I'm going for! I tend to prefer natural face ups myself though

    16. Soft or accented = Pure, young or mature or for a thematic like 80 '20' fantastic, ...
I think much of the character goes through the drawing of the eyebrows . I ordered my first doll, a DES minifee with the mackeup of the company without being able to see it before reception and on arrival she was too neutral, I did not appropriate it and I resold it.

    17. Natural that manages to capture all the richness and variation in color of real human skin. Also love strong contrasted blushing and a bit of a "sickly" look.

    18. It really just depends on the character, but I totally love natural faceups :)

    19. I like both, but if I had to choose, I would say natural. What I really care for in a face-up are unique features like freckles, beauty marks etc.

    20. For me it depends. I've seen some exaggerated make up that works fantastically on character dolls, but I usually prefer a more simple, natural face up. I love freckles, beauty marks, and imperfections, too.
