1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Neo-Angelregion iMda doll - Discussion Thread

Mar 31, 2010

    1. My Idealian Hyperon arrived the same way. I tried all sorts of things to avoid restringing him. Finally I gave up and restrung him with proper elastic. It was the easiest thing I did to him and I was kicking myself for not just doing it first!

It seems to be a common problem. Many of the companies seem to feel the dolls ship better when they are loosely strung. I now have an assortment of elastic on hand!

I think you are correct. there is something to be said about shipping a doll loosely strung and I ommited that from my note. Soom did mention that they string their dolls loosely to protect their safety while in transit.

Anna I am so bummed that you can't get your girl to sit. I am going to look at Natassa again and see what advice I can come up with. I can get Natassa to sit but I recall she is a more of a "recliner" Usually she is sitting in a chair with support on her back and sort of "propped up" I am curious to see what Soom will tell you.

    3. Hi, I seem to be in the same boat, as my Natassa is loosely strung. She seems to cooperate though on occasion, maybe a bit more the Monika.
I was wondering if anyone knew where to order the larger strings for her, as I was thinking to restring and hot glue her?
She is a bit of a challenge at times but so darn cure as is her body! ;)

    4. I get my strings from CoolCat on Ebay. They have a variety of sizes, as well as other BJD supplies. I've been shopping with them for a while now and my orders always arrive quickly. I used their 3.5mm string to restring my Delfs and they are holding up very well.

I'm going to restring Monika as well (hopefully this weekend) with a 3.5mm or 4.0mm string and see if that helps. I also have some KIPS that I will try to place between her torso and hip sockets. I'm really hoping that this will help her sit... that's all I ask at this point - have this girl sit normally, and I'll be happy! I adore her to bits, though; she reminds me of a little princess, and I think I'm going to call her after one of the Tsar Nicholas II's daughters. I'm currently between Olga and Anastasia... can't decide yet! Does your Natassa have a name yet, mydaffer?

    5. Oh, thank you for the heads up about the string size, I can not wait to see if it works for you. I will hold off to see if it does, so if it does not I can try a different size for us to see if that may be what we need. Hopefully though, what you do will work, fingers crossed!! ;)

The names you are thinking of are lovely! Me, I just call her by her given name, but I have been pondering on one for her, still not sure yet. I am slow. hee hee I seem to always be lingering at the end of the rope when it comes to ordering, new, names, outfit, etc. I'm lovin it though
!! I love the IMda girls! So cute..............

    6. Has anyone noticed that the Modigli 2.2 the new one, the order period is not on the ad anymore and she is still for sale. Wondering if not enough people ordered her and she is going to be like Natassa and just available all the time??

    7. But there are no options for outfit, shoes and wigs.

    8. I did not notice that part! So, she will be available, just not the wig, shoes, and outfit!

They sold out on the Natassa, I just got! They must have just recently updated their site. I see changes!!

    9. So, I received a reply to my inquiry about Monika and her issues on Soom's Q&A board. I basically made three points:

      - the hair corsage from her full-set is missing
      - the dress is impossible to put on without taking off her hands, which takes time and is a pain to do; I commented that it would have been nice if Soom posted about this in the description, because had I known it would be such a pain to put on and take off, I wouldn't have bought it
      - the doll's inability to stand, and more importantly, sit, even after tightening the strings

To all this, I get a reply asking for pictures; quote: "May I ask you to take some pictures of the problems you have reported".

I am baffled as to which pictures I can take to show the missing corsage, the need to take off Monika's hands to put on the dress, and to show her inability to sit. Any ideas? :?

    10. It is kinda silly, they KNOW the dress can't be put on without the hands being taken off!!! they should list that on nearly every imda doll because I had that issue with my Modigli full set too the one with the red dress!! I was shocked other people didn't mention that. When I sold her I made it very clear in my sales thread because I thought it was a pain in the ass. It is a common thing they are doing it is not just your dress!

Not t mention the wig I ordered for my Modigli was a strawberry blond and what I was sent was a honey blond wig, not the same wig for sure, as well it didn't fit without serious stretching LOL. Thankfully the smaller dolls do ok posing wise, though the heads are too heavy and they have a tendancy to fall back when sitting if you don't use the arms to help them to sit nice ;)

    11. I agree, it is very silly. I just don't understand what I am supposed to take pictures of! The missing hair pin? My doll lying down, to illustrate inability to sit? Snapshots of me trying to force the dress over her hands? Seriously!

Yes, it was a huge hassle for me to put on her dress, and I am very disappointed that I wasn't informed of this. It was her full-set dress, so in my opinion, it should fit the doll as she is right out of the box, not require me to use tools in order to put it on! And, if it doesn't, then it should be mentioned in the description. As it is right now, Monika is going to be in that dress a long time, because I don't want to go through the hassle of changing her, which is a shame, because part of the fun for me is changing my dolls' clothes.

If it's a common thing, I hope that more people will speak up so that we are at least warned about things like that (better yet, make the dresses fit without disassembling the doll).

    12. RIGHT! I actually did tell them and they said I will pass on that information.

Yeh you need to video yourself LOL!
They KNOW this stuff, but the question is are you talking to someone that knows the doll? how removed are the people on the board replying to your question and what do you want from them?

Do you want to return the doll for a refund? I wonder what they can really do to make this better....
You could reply and say "check with someone on this doll, as it seems you dont' know these things, the doll doesn't sit, not just MY doll, all these dolls, the dress doesn't fit, not just MY doll all the Monika's. The hair pin is missing (I can't take a photo of a missing hair pin) Send me one!!

You need to tell them what you want to right the situation. Infact you can say "I need you to do xyz"
And please think about it before you ask me to take photo's, these things can't be shown in a photo.

    13. Ah, Anna, I can read your frustrations with Soom :( (been there)
I wish I could help you.
Your girl is very pretty, even with the issues!! ;)
I hope they resolve the problems for you (Dollie hugs, sent your way!!!) Melissa

    14. Actually you could even say that line:

I just don't understand what I am supposed to take pictures of! The missing hair pin? My doll lying down, to illustrate inability to sit? Snapshots of me trying to force the dress over her hands? Seriously!

** that makes it clear. and then tell them what you want from them.
Such as I need one hair pin and a refund for this dress.

LOL not sure they will give it to you but you never know! funny thing is I have found them to be good at doing things such as adjusting my order etc..
They may give you a credit for the dress to spend on line but it would be something. Then you could sell the doll and just let the buyer know.

    15. Okay, I had been thinking my Monika was going to need to find a new home. The pink pupil-less eyes freaked me out, and I hated the dress and shoes. And especially the fact her fullset didn't come with panties and stockings. But then tonight, I tried different eyes, wig and clothes on her, and I fell in love. She still doesn't stand worth crap, and I don't dare try to sit her down. But for me, she's been transformed into a whole different doll. And here she stays.

    16. They eyes are beautiful what color and make are they?
She has quite a pouty face doesn't she!

    17. Scottiedoll Congrats on your darling girl. It amazes me how much personality each one of these IMDAs has. You have done a great job with her. I love the auburn wig with her freckles and blue eyes!

    18. Just to update. I asked Soom what kind of pictures they are looking for when it comes to my issues (missing corsage, inability to sit, full-set dress sleeves not fitting through hands), and, well, they wanted a picture of Monika being propped up while sitting and a picture of the sleeve... so odd. I did provide those pictures, and will update once I hear back. If anyone wants to see the pictures I sent, you can look here:

      http://www.thedollpage.com/photopost/data/12118/medium/Sleeve.JPG

http://www.thedollpage.com/photopost/data/12118/medium/Sitting.JPG (doll nudity warning; I pulled down her sleeves for the picture above and snapped this one right after)

I still find it pretty bizarre that I was asked for these pictures, but, I guess we'll see what will come of it.

scottiedoll, your girl is adorable. I just love Monika's pout! I seriously cannot stop looking at my girl's face, and I will be so very happy if Soom tells me what the heck I can do to make her sit. I really don't want her sitting on my bookshelf all the time (it's the only place I can display her, as my dolly display case does not have a backing and I'd have to move it closer to the wall to support Monika's back). By the way, did you get a hair corsage with your order?

If it wasn't for my frustration with her body, I would most definitely be getting more iMda girls because they have such expressive, beautiful faces!

    19. Sometimes their insurance company wants pictures, but this does seem to be a shipping damage problem. Maybe it just gets to be a habit.
