Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases.     1. bellrino88, welcome to the thread! The iMda dolls are very lovely, indeed!

      I don't want to discourage you, but the 5.2 body is certainly not what I would call "beginner-friendly". I've been in this hobby for years, and have restrung dolls before, but this girl gave me a real work-out! Having said that, if you love a doll, having to work on her a bit shouldn't discourage you - eventually, you'll need to restring even the most perfect posing doll (and, those don't really exist - every doll has its quirks!).

      If you do go with a 5.2 girl, then stick around this thread and we'll be happy to help you make her a better poser. But, you should know that the 5.2 body, by Soom's admission, was not engineered to be a great poser. Rather, the goal of the sculptor was more focused on aesthetics, which she/he certainly achieved.

      The most important thing is to do research and know what to expect, so you won't be disappointed when your dolly arrives. And, the 5.2 body is not completely hopeless - after I worked on my girl, she can sit just fine. I still need to test her standing, though :) If you have any questions, we'll be happy to provide as much information as we can!

    2. What does everyone think of Laureen? So far, I LOVE HER! I wish there was a way to get just the head, so I can find a different body for her (I don't think I want to go down the road of reworking another 5.2 body).

    3. Loving her chin and jawline. Looks sweet. I want a NS body for a Leeke head, but if I buy a full doll with a lovely head like Laureen's, then that lovely head will need to stay with that body and then my Leeke head still won't have a body. And I'm running out of dolly space. I'd really love to see an MSD version too.

    5. I can't decide if Laureen looks too much like Monika... any opinions? I love Laureen, but when I compare her to Monika, I see more similarities than differences.

    6. Well, I've got Monika and just put Laureen on layaway ^^ So I'm thinking 'not so much' ;)

      Laureen seems older than Monika to me -- she's kinda got that sultry, little pout-thing going on, too:aheartbea

    8. It must be just me, then :lol: I did request that Soom show me Laureen's blank head, if possible. I'm SO tempted by her, despite my serious dislike for the 5.2 body. Argh. I really want Laureen to look like Monika, so I could pass on her :lol:

    9. Well, owner's pics will have to wait awhile mydaffer as I've got her on a 3 month layaway *_* -- the only way I'll allow myself to 'self-enable' ;) but I'll definitely post pics of Monika & Laureen together when she arrives:aheartbea

      and Anna -- I did get default face-ups on both my girls so, to me, they look different (sometimes I have difficulty seeing past a face-up) so that helps ^^ More than likely, the sculpts are similar -- I also ordered each girl with default eyes and wig, which will further differentiate them in my eyes (again, wigs and eyes make such a difference! I wish I could be more visionary and see beyond what's right in front of my face :sweat )

    10. Regardless if I get her or not, I am very much looking forward to your pictures! I do see Laureen as more mature than Monika, but I'm wondering if it's mostly the face-up that's making me think so. I do hope that Soom shows me photos of the blank head before the order period expires, so that I can make a decision. If she's too similar to Monika, I may pass due to my love/hate relationship with the 5.2 body, but if she's different enough... I am pretty sure that I'll be getting Laureen - she's just so beautiful!

      Also, has anyone had success hybriding a 5.2 head with another body? I'm still searching for a different body for my girl, but it's not an easy task - her head is quite big, so not every SD body is going to look right.

      I actually like the aesthetics of the iMda 5.2 body, but the posing really kills it for me. Maybe I should try getting a stand.

    17. Actually the one that is custom poses a bit! I think she is strung tight and I got her pre-owned. The default one is loosely strung and she does nothing:) I am the first owner. I really need to work on her!

    18. Wake up in here! There is a new Babette and I think she is just adorable! Yay, they gave us a skin color option too. Now where to find fundage for this cutie? I dumped my Birthday money on an OT little lavender mouse yesterday. No regrets, but I think a WS Babette needs to join my Modiglis and Gians. Maybe we will have a WS option Nina next?

    19. At last Babette in 3.0 in white skin been waiting for this for ages...... now I have to decide if I still need her..

      The outfit and the darker mohair wig are a nice touch, the the wig looks a bit small on her?
      They don't mention you need to remove the hands to get the hands through the arm holes so hopefully that is the case!!

    20. I wondered why there wasn't any talk about the new girl. I think I need to get myself a Babette. I've already found the wig I want for her. Now as I've been rather naughty with my recent purchases I need to sell a doll or two to fund bringing her home.

      I'm also thinking of getting the outfit. It looks cute - did you have to dismantle your doll to dress them previously?
