1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

New dolls site!!

Jan 10, 2006

1. Good luck, iammine!! I'll keep a close eye on how this works out for you . . . I *really* like their 'Nikole' head, and when my finances recover, I'm planning on ordering her.

BTW, Dollti (a legitimate new company) still has their site mostly under construction, and they began selling on eBay before the site was complete . . . just to provide an example.

-- A (who thinks this thread is much more measured, the other thread basically accused them of copying DoT wholesale, when in fact there's only somewhat of a facial resemblance)

2. I might take the plunge... I wrote to them via their contact form, asking what the 1/4 doll kit is made of, and what their return policies are.

I looked all over for a face mold like that for a mini! I really hope they're legit. I would love to have him.

3. Have you asked them what the dirt and gunk on the pictures is?

4. It looks like the one that they photographed was their prototype -- it's not dirty, that's what they used to smooth out the sculpt before the final casting. The heads that I made looked like that after the initial resin cast -- then I did all the smoothing and touch-up work and created a new master cast from the first resin cast for a smooth final result.

It's too bad that they didn't wait for final photos before taking pics of the 1/4 boy, but he actually wasn't even on the site a couple of days ago -- they're obviously working very hard to put up pics and new dolls as they go along.

Looking forward to somebody getting one of these guys -- I wish I wasn't broke, I'd totally go for the Nikole head!!

-- A <3

5. I thought that might be it, but I wondered why they would photograph him like that! But it makes sense that maybe they just didn't get around to taking better pictures, yet... Still, I wonder about the low price - I wonder if there's some misunderstanding and it's only for the head? $100 for a full set would be so awesome...

6. Oh! Don't forget to share what you find out about him.
I really wish they had clearer pics and size stats. I can't quite tell from the pics if it's a young girl or an under-endowed boy. The posability really catches the attention, though.

7. I believe Leroi posted those particular photos in response to the other thread (and possibly doubts in other communities), actually.

Taken from the Leroi order page:
"Why we place the imperfect angel here? That is because someone doubted we had copy others¡¯ doll. In order to remove all doubts of our children for ever, we post some of our processing pictures here initiatively.

There are some impurities on Leroi¡¯s face which are part of his body. Why we show him here is to certify that he is made by us completely!

We will not amend any Leroi¡¯s pictures. Although the pictures are not perfect, we also remain them, for witness. Because we believe that all the ugly ducklings will be white swan. Don not you think that?"

That doll has really cute lips, and the posing looks awesome. I'm quite tempted to buy him myself.

8. Having viewed the post of Mythdoll in the Market forum, I guess this company...maybe now we cannot call them a company... They are just a group of young people who love BJD and pursue thier dream of creating their own BJD.

Now this is their first try to create a BJD and introduce their new-born doll to the world. As they have no experience before, they may view pics of BJD from other companys' and get some ideas. That's why you think their doll looks like XX or XXX ( but no one can say it's just as same as XX dolls ). And They have said that their English was poor so they copied some texts from other companies. But if the information of their dolls they offered is true....just as same as their doll's real information....I think copying some texts now is acceptable ( if they will improve the site later)
You cannot deny that the sizes of many companies' dolls are similar. So you couldn't say it's fake just because they copied some info.

Anyway,I'd like to take the neutral side and wait for more info. I just want to say that now everyone's conclusion is upon your guess. Why not wait for more info? I know iammine has ordered from Mythdoll, and the buyer will give us the final conclusion.
And if Mythdoll is legit, some comments of yours really hurt and discourage a new-born company,a group of people who love dolls just like all of us......

If someone really think it's fake, why don't you show Mythdoll's site to the BJD companies that you think Mythdoll copied from?
They are the people who know their dolls best. And they are the people who really have the right to judge whether Mythdoll copied their dolls.

9. I don't see why we can't call them a company. It doesn't matter the size or background, but if they are running a business of creating and selling a product, they are just as legitimate a company as any other established company. Most of these doll companies we buy from are small and started out even smaller.

10. I got a reply from Mythdoll!

I asked them about the weight of the Leroi doll kit that is listed on their website, and about their return policy.

I've written back to inquire about buying a Leroi kit. It seems probable that shipping will be more than the flat rate quoted on the website, which was strangely low at five dollars! But as soon as I get an updated quote on shipping, I'll probably spring for this on a credit card with buyer protection.

I'm very excited about Mythdoll's body designs. And the head sculpt for Leroi is so cute!

11. Arg! I'm trying to buy a Leroi and they won't let me! *cries*

I created an account, got him into my checkout basket, and am trying to go to step two of payment options, but the page goes back to my shipping adresss every time. Does this mean that they're not set up for payment yet?

*Goes and searches for mythdoll e-mail address so she can beg to pay them*

12. Jade_R, my guess is that you can't buy til they fix the shipping price? I hope it won't be long...

Also, if you click "About Us" on the website, you get a contact form. That's what I used and I got a reply.

13. He's unassembled, I'm pretty sure. They do give you elastic though.

14. I can't find their email on the site... though I would like to get a Zeber in the future. He looks really good... my type of dolls too. ^_^

15. Lord Ros, if you go to the website and look at the very bottom, you'll see a link called "About Us"

Click on that link and a page pops up with a form were you can put your name, your e-mail address, and your message and e-mail it to them.

Or you can click on this handy dandy link I just made to it! Contact Page

16. I, too, was intrigued by the idea of ordering an ABJD for $100 but I didn't feel comfortable in going for it mainly because I still remember the two old sayings "If it's too good to be true, it usually is" and "You get what you paid for." But I found a couple of wigs for $10 that would fit my Dollfie Dream so I decided to do a test where I would order one $10 wig from mythdoll.com. I figured that if the company wasn't legitimate, the worst that could happen is that I would be out only $10 (plus whatever shipping and handling fees the site charges). And if the company was legit, then my Dollfie Dream would have one more wig for her collection (a doll can't have too many wigs in her collection, can she?). :-)

So I signed up for an account and attempted to order one wig. So I get to the first screen that says "1 Out of 3" at the top where I confirm my address and I click on the button that says "Continue". The bad news is that the same "1 Out of 3" screen pops up and I was unable to continue from there. I tried pushing that same "Continue" button several times and each time I got that same screen where I had to confirm my address. I wasn't even able to get to the part where I could pay for my order.

I attempted to order using my Macintosh G4 with OS X. I initially tried using Safari and I kept on being referred to that same screen. I then switched to Internet Explorer and attempted to re-do my order all over again and I still got the same result.

Did anyone else have that kind of problem when ordering anything from that site?

EDIT: I should've checked the previous page before posting this because it looks like other people had problems with trying to order from that site as well. I'll wait until this site gets its act together before I attempt to order that wig again.

17. Yeah, he doesnt have ordering up yet.

I think the price in diffrence is that you get an unassembled doll, no eyes, hair, makup... being put together.... ^_^

18. Yeah, Kimpossible. I'm having that problem too.

I think it's because the site isn't fully up yet so they can't take payment yet, but I'll be sure to post about what the solution is when they e-mail me back about it.

10 Leori's...
Lots of Doll Fans...

I know I already have one in my shopping cart... As soon as I can pay for him he'll be mine!

...I mean my bestfriends...

Forget it! I'm keeping him, she can buy her own silly doll!

19. They said on the website the shipping is incorrect and they are going to repair it. I'm going to order a Leroi as soon as their ordering system is up and running. I'd like to support a new doll company, and I think he could be really adorable. I feel sorry for the company, considering how hostile the other thread got. I know people want to be cautious, but it seemed to get a little out of hand.

20. Just tell you a fact:

In our Chinese BJD forums, a BJD owner found Mythdoll site several days ago and posted a thread there to put forward her question:" Is it legit? I think the girl doll looks like SD girls..."
So her thread caused a heated discussion there too. Different opinions rose just like yours on DOA.^^;
And yesterday I saw the girl who posted the thread post there again:" Now I knew I was wrong....Someone has told me that the Mythdoll was created by the person..... one of those Chinese BJD owners who first tried to creat our own BJDs...."

"SOMEONE" her mentioned didn't tell me, so I don't know whether it's true or not. I just can tell you that the girl who posted the thread is reliable. She is also a seller there with good feedbacks. ^^
