NEW!! NARIN DOLLS 60 cm & 43 cm PRE-ORDERING INFO pg. 12

Hi everyone,
A mini-update here.. and a request fulfilled for Mac users (myself being one for 20 years!)

First off, I did some translation of the Narin site, and apparently I was correct that this is a beta site and nothing will be really set or working right until November 5. Things are still switching around and links not working. However! I wonder if this site will not work for Mac users ever. It appears to be a Flash template that is not compatible. I will attempt to put any photos from Narin from their site onto my site (which I plan to open up very soon). My site is Mac compatible *eep of course* so no worry.

OK, I'm going to show you some of the pajama photos on Narin's site. These are the 60 cm dolls. PLEASE disregard the face ups, cause I don't think these are the actual ones. I think these could be spacer shots for the beta site... since they have not sent me the defaults yet, these can't be them. But they are probably the final default clothing choices. Very cute and funky.

That face up is possible. I agree, they are ravishing. I really feel so lucky to be able to work with Bimong. These dolls look so ALIVE.

What version IE are you on for Mac? I have a Powerbook with OS X, my Safari won't click thru and My IE (vers. 5.2) also won't click through links. To get all these photos for everyone off the site, I've had to resort to the Dark Side (PC) and that works fine. It loads very slowly in Mac as well, even with my computer's large RAM. On the PC, it loads faster but the whole site seems rather unwieldy. I also wonder, for those with no Flash plug-- it must be just impossible because it appears to be 100% Flash.

Well, nevermind! I would never do a site that doesn't work for Macs. 8) I'll have all the goodies soon enough. In the meantime, if anyone is dying to see something I can put up pics here.

How cool!

I just got a note from my Korean translator. He was having trouble with the Bimong name, because it's not a typical Korean name. When you run it through a translator it comes out "Rain Mong." Now, I'm thinking... could he be Rainman 2 or something? LOL.

OK, so my translator said that Bimong is a very mystical name. There is a phrase that goes, "Bimong- Samong" which means being in a state at night when you don't know if you are dreaming or awake. So Bimong means "not dreaming." He said Bimong is the name of a mystic!

Hi Everyone,
Not sure if anyone will find this, because the topic has gotten so long.

Anyway, an update from Korea for everyone:

Bimong the Narin dolls artist has decided to add three head choices for each of the default sets:
so the choice will be-
full open eye, sleep eyes, 1/3 closed eyes, and 2/3 closed eyes.

This will be for BOTH the 60 and 43 cm default sets. You choose ONE head of the four.

Good God. Imagine 3 new head sculpts at the last minute. I was thinking that perhaps these eye expressions were on the actual eyeballs, but today I got the message from Narin's president that it's the eyelids that are making the expressions, so that means it's four different heads to choose from when you order one. Well, that explains the delay, huh??

I asked specifically what firm day I could expect the pictures of the open eye default head and the rest of them...and was told they'd have them for me on November 10th (next Thursday or so).

Now of course, let's get out our calendars. For those of you who want one by Christmas, this could be a squeaker unless we figure out something. OK, so I have permission to do this:

I can take orders this coming week, and when the photos come in, you can choose which head you want. If you already are set on an open eye head, so be it. If you want to wait and choose from the other three, that's fine. The orders need to come in this week and I will wire the money early next week to Korea so we can get our international orders at the head of the line. It's kind of cool of them, because they haven't even started taking orders in Korea officially. At present they are only selling the customs by lottery.

If you have custom faceup requests, please get your picture ready to email me. Please make it as close to what you want visually so they won't have to struggle with lots of English. I believe the faceups will be done by www.my-gene.com they do an excellent job, if you check the quality of their work (go to My Doll and you will see piles of 60 cm heads being painted along with some 43 cm's). Please understand that they will do the best they can, and this will be an interpretation of what you send, not an artistic photocopy. You also can request a blank head, and get your faceup done elsewhere. If you have a detailed written request for the artist, I can have it translated into Korean for you which would cost around $5-10. I want you to be happy with your doll!

And remember- boy&girl bodyswaps are OK for 43 cm, not for 60 cm dolls due to size differences. I don't know if extra heads are going to be available separately, but if so I can advise you when I hear. There's a chance I could add a few of those in when I pay shipping and for the faceups. Oh yes, we will drive them crazy

I will email everyone probably Sunday with instructions on where to go to my web site and there will be more detail on the dolls and ordering. The 60 cm are $650 US, the 43 cm are $480 payable by PayPal as cash, credit card, e-check. If you want a custom face up, I will be sending your picture to Korea with the order and they will send me quotes for these. These will range from $10 - $100 depending on complexity. Your face up fee will be due before they ship here from Korea. I'm wiring them more money at that time for the (GULP) huge EMS bill I will be getting, and I'll send your faceup money to them at that time.

I will ship anywhere, and require insurance, registration and return receipt to prove delivery. If you need this sent as a gift, or have other requests for me (you know what that is) I am willing but shipping with no insurance is totally at your own risk and I require you sign a release saying so. Insurance ranges only from $7-$9 per doll, so I believe it's a good investment in peace of mind. At any time you can request a digital scan of the shipping paperwork on your doll. There will be a board on my web site which will give you all the news I hear about shipping status from my contact at Narin (their president).

If you live in a country like Canada or Norway where customs are slow, please know that your doll might not make it through customs in time for the holidays. Countries such as Germany, England, France, Greece, etc. I've had pretty speedy customs clearance. In any case, I'm pulling out the stops here for everyone hoping to get these to you in time for the holidays and the birthdays I've been told about.

I will most likely do another pre-order in November after this first quick one. There is a chance it might get here before the holidays as well, but it's less likely.

Thanks very much for your patience! I know this has been stressful for some of you who have been waiting the past 2 weeks to order. I have a special surprise for everyone on DOA when my site opens on Sunday-- DOA member artwork is a part of it. This will be so much fun.

Hey, I just PM'd you with my idea for your lovely Lusis- Narin couple. Get her a sleep faceplate, and hopefully I can get you an optional sleep head-part for Narin. They will look like they are cuddling!
