New PIPOS Doll - Curo (Bunny) Discussion

Jun 9, 2007

    1. I just found out about Curo last night.

      ::swoon::

      Since my first doll, I've seen manymanyMANY dolls I've liked, a few I've loved, a handful I wanted, but only one other that I HAD to have.

      Well, Curo is the 3rd doll I've seen that I HAVE TO HAVE.

      Hmm... what do I have that I can sell...

    2. I have a question for the Curo owners out there....what is the tail like? Is it jointed like the ears? Is it removeable or is it sculpted onto the body? Anyone have any naked butt shots so we can see? I'm just wondering how the tail will affect pants, etc.

    3. It's made of resin, sculpted onto the body, not jointed and not removable. I'll post a pic later if somebody else doesn't do it before me.

    4. Here's my little one Usagi Angora.

      More pictures can be found here.

    5. Miyamoto Usagi is here! The turtles are so happy! Especially Leo! XD Gotta make him a hakama now.

      He is much bigger than I thought he'd be! He is so cuddly and adorable!

    6. I guess that it is only I that sees the resemblance of Edward Tulane in this... has ANYBODY read 'The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane' here? :sorry I read it to a bunch of kids at the Culture Fest held at the local elementary (and in doing so, accidentally forgot about maintaining my volunteer Korean booth, lol). The girls were crying (some of them, anyways...) and the boys were just... captivated? I didn't realize back then that Edward was a French BJD... when i do get my BlueFairy i will save up for an 'Edward' myself!

      Seriously, NOBODY here read that book? If not, I recommend it. It's about a china rabbit named Edward Tulane (wow, big surprise, no?) that doesn't know how to love. After he has been lost overboard a ship, goes on a journey and is loved by a fisherman's wife, a hobo and his dog, a sick girl who dies and comes back to his owner's arms after thirty years, it learns to love. It's a very sweet book about love for a BJD and how it loves you back... Sorry if this has been off-topic.

    7. (Sounds like an interesting book... never heard of it, but it sounds sweet. XD)

      Since I don't see one posted yet, a picture of bunnytail for lindsay... (A link, because I feel odd posting a picture of a little toosh ;) )

      Lila says hello!

    8. What gorgeous bunnies you all have! Bunnies are my favourite animal, so I think its just a matter of time until I get one of these :)

    9. I love that book! I'm actually saving up for a Curo to name Edward Tulane(Halfway there, too!). :3

    10. Oh, I remember that book! Kate DiCamillo is a local author, so I read it when I stumbled across it at the library I was working at (probably when I was supposed to be checking the easies for condition :blush) As I recall, I thought it was very good, not over-sentimental or arch, which are my two least favorite things in children's literature. I wish Miyazaki would do a film of it!

    11. Does anyone else have a problem with the head of their Curo popping off randomly? I'm having a great deal of difficulty getting Usagi's head to stay on her body. :...(

    12. Well, Lila's head will pop loose any time I try to tilt her head back too far... I think the weight of her head overpowers the small magnets used to hold it on, but her head doesn't just fall off for no reason... :\

    13. The whole head or just the faceplate? O_o; Mine's faceplate is really tough to get off.

      Is it broken in anyway? ;_; Poor bunny.

    14. gawd! I must resist, but I can just see this lil bunny in hundreds of Spring Photos and Easter Dresses and Erter Rabbit srories and maybe even Mini JEssica Rabbit??

    15. It's the faceplate, it just pops off at random intervals. I can't figure it out. Does someone want to volunteer to take a picture of their Curo holding it upside down so I can see the seam at the neck to see if mine looks defective? I'll post a similar picture when I get home.

    16. Sure. When you post a pic of the angle you are looking for, i'll get one up asap. ;)

    17. Ive been converted to Curo, where can you get clothes for them?

    18. I got to see a Curo up-close the other day- while I adore cats, and the Baha is cute, the Curo's face is much more adorable! (The Baha's mouth is much too wide for my tastes.) I'd love to have one of these someday... probably name him or her after a character in Watership Down :) They're so much larger in person! It really shocked me how big they are.

    19. The tail makes things especially tricky.. mine generally wears Barbie clothes, and has to stick to loose skirts and dresses. ^^;

    20. How are the paws at holding stuff? I've been wondering if I should get a set of human hands and feet first, as Pipos indicates that they're running low. Yukinosuke needs to be able to hold a zanpakutou.:3
