oh yeah! i knew you were on here, but have the worst time trying to keep track of people's different screen names.

good to know about the wig.

i wonder if the main problem with modding a fibre wig would be the construction of the wig-cap (that it would come apart if you cut holes into it)? and it might work out if you first covered the inside of the wig-cap with something, like maybe some kind of liquid that hardens into rubber? and then let it dry and then cut the holes in the wig.

 

I'm not sure of the maker, because I buy most of my doll eyes secondhand. They are 18mm acrylics with a low dome (high domes don't sit right in the eyewells) - they are the kind with the split where the front & back meet,so you can remove the back pieces with the stems, making them half rounds instead of full rounds (the eye stems get in the way inside her small head space). The iris color is pink/purple/gray metallic and really reflects light. They weren't expensive at all.

I also found that the 19mm squishy Eyeco eyes I have are a perfect fit for her, but I want to order a different color than what I have.

 

No worries, I can't keep track either.

If it's a stretchy wig, the holes might run after you cut them (like getting a hole in pantyhose). If it's not stretchy, you'd probably have to sew down the raw edges of the ear holes from the inside. It seems it would be easier to custom create a wig rather than butcher an old one. But, like I said, I'd love to see photos if anyone successfully modifies an existing wig.

Bumping for new comparison pictures - female R.Pi. vs. Soom Teenie Gem. This is for those who want to hybrid!

First, trying a Syen paw on her.



As you can see, Satine's leg is very thin... much thinner than the fantasy part.



Another view. The paw's knee joint is much bigger and longer than hers!



I tried shoving the leg in the socket for you, and it really looks like it won't fit. xD But as for the neck...



They're very similar in size! The switch would probably work.



There's my Glati's head compared to the neck - it looks like it should fit. If anything, you'd need a neck donut or something to keep it from wiggling too much.

Keep in mind that Satine's a female R.Pi. and the male body might be different! I hope this helps anyone who needs to know.

 

I just heard from Pipos that my catties shipped today! What a great email to get on my birthday -- Charlotte and Demon full sets, that I've been paying off forever! Pipos is the best!

Oh, I didn't know the discussion for these guys was still active. I can't remember if I already posted here or not, but I ordered a basic Demon in early September and I'm hoping to get him home soon. I can't wait to take pictures of him.

If anyone's looking for pics of Demon, teamonstar has one and there were several pictures of Demon on Flickr last time I checked.

 

I've got a basic Charlotte coming, though no shipping notice as of yet.

I do have a question about the tail, though - I know the magnet doesn't appear to be glued on for you, so what is the best medium to use to affix it to the body?

 

Pantalaimon, you could probably hot glue it... but I just taped the magnet to Satine's butt! xD

 

Ah, tape! XD I'll probably just wind up doing that for now.

And... I think I was incredibly fortunate, because after lusting after a Limited Charlotte (and thus ordering the basic since I thought I'd have a heck of a time getting a limited), I just paid for one second hand! I am so incredibly excited. (Seriously, when I pm'd the FS my hands were shaking with excitement...)

Either way, now I have another question! (Probably for Aisu, or anyone with the limited) - have you had any staining the the limited outfit? I want to leave it on her all the time, but I know dark colours can sometimes stain the resin. I'm also not sure how comfortable I'd feel with soaking the clothes, either. Thoughts, anyone?

 

Congrats on getting a Limited Charlotte, she is gorgeous.

As for clothing stains, i'd like to know too. I never thought about staining and both Limited Charlotte & Demon was actually shipped dressed. I got mine awhile ago but never really un-dressed or played with them. Now i'm kinda worried and think i should atleast un-dress them if i'm keeping them in storage. Ok, i'm gonna have to do that later. Perhaps it's also time i actually take some pics of the pair also. I just never have time.

 

The Teenie Gem and female R.Pi hybrid DOES work!

I'm so very happy! Posted a WTT so I can get my Charlotte a teenie gem body, since I don't like the idea of having her share with my Beyla.

::::EDIT:::: Charlotte will need to have the S-Hook placed upon the half-sphere piece that usually holds her elastic, otherwise her head snaps back into one position. Beyla seems fine!

About the staining, before I sold the clothes I had kept my Charlotte in storage dressed in them for quite some time and nothing happened. I don't think they stain, but don't take my word alone for it! It's better to be safe than sorry

 

I've seen some neat hybrids! I'm glad you found something that'll work for you! (Share pics whenever she has her own body?)

As for the staining - what would you recommend? Do you think the clothes would be safe to treat with vinegar?

 

Hello there! i have just ordered my first Cheshire and I have a quick question if that is ok? I have paid in full, but it says Receipt of credit payment. What does that mean? Also, how long does it usually take before you have the little kitty in your mitts? Sorry if this has been asked before, and thank you for listening.

And about staining: I don't think the clothes do; Satine wore them for a very long time and no problems at all! She's still just as beautiful a gray as ever.

Also, are there any patterns out that work for Charlotte and Demon? I bought the Simplicity (I think) Blythe doll pattern for my other Pipos dolls. I know that it will require some alterations, but I'm assuming Charlotte's body isn't as chubby as say, Baha, so I'm wondering if it'd be possible to modify a Blythe pattern at all.

 

i think that since pipos is more of a classy company, they really do take care about things like that. (i mean, using pre-washed or non-staining fabrics)
i've had my junior cheshires in their limited (black satin and black knit) clothes since whenever they came (spring-ish?) and they are fine.

 

I'm trying to figure out what I want to get for my first doll, and Demon is really tempting. (Guess he's not as popular as Charlotte, though.) Kittyfaaaace. I've been kind of wanting a Pipos anthro bjd for a couple of years, but wasn't quite sure I wanted to get into another hobby, heh.
