Nobilitydoll : "My Ball Joint Doll"

well the mermaid body is just now in the sculpting stage so that may take a while. i also should mention.... that as a compensation for the long wait, they made me a 3rd head for free.... so while i had ordered dark tan, and white, they also are sending me a pale tan one as well....

 

ok.... the heads are here..... and i really like them after all, they did a nice job..... after i asked for a revision, they nailed it.... a very unique and ethnic head.... they tossed in the lighter tan as compensation for the extremely long wait. now i need to decide what to do about bodies for the tan heads..... i had hoped i could match the dark tan with Dollstown dark tan.... but the resins are just different.... i think i might ask Nobility to make a dark tan body for her.....

The final product does look pretty awesome, Miss Ally. I'm wavering now since I know that the DIM Minimees have been getting really good lately. But they don't resin match (or offer custom bodies), so that you are stuck with the DIM body (or some kinda match).

 

The light tan is my favorite, and I can't wait to see them painted! Glad you like them better in person. I'm wondering if that dark tan would be close to Angelsdoll. It looks a little darker.

 

*sara*..... i thought about the angelsdolls body, it looks like it might match... do you know if it matches Iplehouse? 'cause the dark tan matches my Kamau fairly well.... or Mellow's body might be a choice.... but as i don't have her, i would need to get the whole doll. i think the best thing is to have Nobility make one of theirs for me.
i can at least start playing around with the face ups in the meantime.....

Maybe the light tan would match Soom's tan. I have a tan Gena; perhaps when we both come to the same meetup we can compare

so, for anyone who is curious.... i asked Nobility how much to cast their Nobility basic female body in the tan resin color... for the dark tan resin color $500, for the light tan resin color $480...... i am ordering the dark tan first.....

 

I have been so slow on getting my own Mana-sama doll. For a while now I been mostly interested in Dollmore dolls. But now after I saw this Minimee Mana face-up http://illness-illusion.com/index/?p=1244 I just coulden´t take it anymore... My heart is screaming for a Mana doll. He means so much to me. I´m going to save up for a type E: Fullset. It´s important that my Mana doll gets that typical girly j rock belly.

Mana-sama usually looks very white and pale. I´m wondering whether I should go for white skin or normal??

I just can´t live without my very own Mana-sama lama to hug. A dollie is the closest I can get haha.

 

I love your doll/ head/s Miss Ally I think they looks really cool. I like the darkest one best. I´m sure she´ll be awesome with face-up

As for matches, I immediately thought DT also.
For the dark tan head-DT Ebonyskin, and the pale tan,DT PaleTan.
But Ebony is only available to the Dollshe Boys >_<

thank you..... she is awesome.... i had hoped she would match the Dollstown ebony, not realizing that they don't produce them in that color.... so, i ordered basic Nobility female body in the dark tan, as i had little hope of finding anything else to match... and get this... Nobility was concerned that the body would not match my head, and are making me a whole doll instead....

their service may be slow and pricey... but their customer service is amazing.... they reply to my emails right away.... and usually in the day, which must be the wee hours of the morning for them.... so far they have gifted me 2 heads as well....

 

They're making you a new whole doll?
Will you have to pay for the new head too? Or do you have to send in the previous head?

no, i do not have to send back the head, they are giving me a new one so it will match with the resin color of the body..... isn't that awesome?

I'm thinking I would love an Eva Pigford sculpt!

 

Seeing this thread and the possibilities for a customized doll, I got tempted and asked for a quote on a doll based on a 65cm Tifa from FFVII Advent Children, and it's going to cost $2000 ($1500 for the body and $500 for the head). It's a little too out of my price range so I think I may have to pass (for now anyway, but I'm looking at other options). It's a bit disappointing, but understandable as there'll be a lot of work to make this doll from scratch.

I'm glad *Sara* and Miss Ally got the doll of their dreams though

 

I have a feeling that's how much they'll charge me too. If they do charge me 2k I'll just tell myself it's less than a Volks limited editition and I'll do layaway if they offer it.

I'm wondering how Nobility doll is with custom faceup. Has anybody tried this?

Hmm...I wonder if Nobility Doll could make a head that matches an Iplehouse EID woman in normal skin? It sounds less expensive than making a whole doll body from scratch.
