Thank you Stella Maris. Xanadu dolls, I have always been really critical of my own work, that's why I usually send my dolls to face-up artists... Auntbear, that's the kind of solution I could consider, but I have to see first if I ever feel the spark for this particular face-up...
i think you have done a great job with her. i do all my own faceups and i am by no means a professional so i know what it is like to be critical of my own work when it doesn't come out the way i envisioned. i've found other people here to be really helpful sometimes in showing me how to get a bit closer to what i see in my head, and as i practice i get closer to being able to duplicate what my minds eye sees. hopefully you will either grow to like this one, or find a way to get closer to your vision next time. i'd give it some time if you can though, 'cause she is really lovely like that.
Skimo - your little fox girl looks amazing! (However if the face up is not right for you, then sometimes there's no getting around that - ultimately your dolls need to work for you ) My Rhubarbe took the eyes from my Pukifee Cony fullset (and doesn't that sound wrong and rather violent???) and I absolutely love them on her! They really fit in with the whole pastel look that I was trying to achieve. And with the perfect eyes, she finally revealed her name! I think it helps that I feel she works proportionally with my Pukifees (because that sort of thing is important to me - one of my quirks )

aurelia is really pretty! i loved the eyes from the fullset and was (briefly) tempted to get my dony as a fullset just to get those eyes!

When I first put the eyes in I was a bit unsure, but I just love them now, and they have really solidified who she is for me. Will you be able to give your girl a face up soon? (EDIT: just remembered that I saw on your Flickr that it was snowing, so I realise that it's unlikely!)
yeah, it's still snowing here and more predicted for the next couple of days before it warms up again. besides which i have one of my kids home sick with the flu . but i'm consoling myself by making clothes for my dolls, and rhubarbe just got a new top. i just need to figure out some pants or a skirt to go with it so she can model it. none of the "bottoms" the other dolls wear do anything for her figure!
I've just fallen in love with these gorgeous girls after being away from DOA for a while! Does anyone know if jpopdolls is going to have a preorder for Rhubarbe anytime soon? Thanks! ^_^

Well, I heard back from Jen at jpop today but I don't really have any news to share. She just told me that there will be more preorders in the future, but not this month I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I'm very happy with her, she'll definitely be interesting to sew for. Though I think I like the style wig she has in the first picture.
