Noses!

I like a good strong nose on a male BJD. One of my favorites belongs to my Volks Tony, Tadashi...

His brother is a Volks Link, who has a similar nose but straighter. My DollZone guys all have excellent strong noses too. Some of my girls have tiny anime noses, I like them as well.

I like all sorts of noses on my dolls at least if they're not too big. I get kinda put off by guys with huge noses or noses that are too pointy.

 

I gotta say the thing that bothers me most about Aisling's face is her nose. From the front it's cute, but from the side it's HUGE (at least, to me). I love Peppermint's little button nose and have been thinking about sanding down Aisling's, but I'm chicken about altering her.

 

So. You're looking for that perfect doll. The eyes have to be almond shaped, the chin has to be slightly squared, the lips have to be plump and pouty, and that's it, right?

What ever happened to the nose?! All (just because I'm not entirely sure, I'll be safe and say most) dolls have a nose. Some noses are better than others. Some are dished, some are Roman, some are button-y, some are hook-y (for lack of a better term >.<), some are long, some are short.

And on that note, what company or sculpt do you think has the best nose? Or the worst nose? Or the silliest, I-cannot-believe-they'd-put-that-on-a-doll nose?

Personally, my favorite nose has to be Doll Chateau's Verna. It's just so cute and adorable, even if I'd never buy that mold.

The nose I find ridiculous has to be Crobidoll's Jerome. To me, it looks like a nose from Avatar. Yes, James Cameron's Avatar. *nods*

I hate my BlueBloodDoll Waltz's nose, even though I love him to bits. It's long and oddly shaped and just not my style. And guess who's too lazy to change it? This girl.


So. Noses. Which ones do you like? Which ones do you hate? Which ones make you laugh until you cry? Which ones do you wish never ever existed?

Now, to quote my third grade teacher:

for the ones I don't like... many volks minis have a kind of anime nose. it's just a small triangle. really not found of it.
Soom Euclase's nose look FAR too slim from face IMO.

 

At least a few people have had this discussion before.

On the other hand, I'm a big fan of arched, roman-looking noses, though there's not many of them around. Dollzone Cosmo has a fairly epic nose, though

 

I didn't think I belonged with those of you that liked the slightly more odd noses but since the last two dolls I've fallen for have had interesting noses it's time to join the club

My ID York is one and I have to admit that a huge part of what drew me to his sculpt was his nose. Now I've just fallen for DT Hwan who I dare say has a rather large nose

 

I love dolls with wide noses! Like for example SoulDoll Fafner or IrrealDoll Ringo~

 

Although I appreciate the slender "button nose" that so many dolls have, I also like unusual noses. I particularly like "hawkish" noses that are kind of big and straight. (I feel like my Resinsoul Yao has a hawkish nose, and I love it.)

Another nose I really like is Supia Haeun's. It's not completely out of the ordinary, but there's a sort of flare at the nostrils that's both pretty and defining at the same time.

I also like Iplehouse Theo's nose. It's so organized it's like you could ski down it. ^_^ Hard to explain, really. I just like Theo in general. All of his features are such an interesting mish-mash of youth and maturity, nose included.

 

One of the traits that attracted me to my Obitsu Haruka head was her nose! It is so cute!

 

I really dislike the nose of my DOC Kirill because it's so pointy and anime-esque, so as soon as I muster the courage I'm going to sand it down because that thing seriously has to go... Whereas I love the nose on my Jina head because it's actually realistically proportionate to the face!

 

My Soom Chrom's nose is actually what made me love his face. Its unusual, and I still think there's only a handful of similar ones out there, even now. Maybe Souldoll's RyuCine?

Personally, I have a generic, ski slope button nose.... maybe I'm compensating for something? XD

 

I am in love with zaoll (...do muses and luvs have the same nose?.. anyway) Luv noses, they're so cute and realistic. It's the fact that they're not perfect button noses that I like them so much

I'm in love with the sculpt though, so I might be bias in terms of the shnoz.x

 

I actually think there is a wide variety of noses and it's actually a big factor in picking a doll. My dolls all have very different noses that fit there personalities. Haru, my Migidoll Cho has a nice manly nose. Robin, my AOD Qian has a nose worth piercing. And Keiko, my Crobidoll Heidi has a dainty nose to fit her quirky style.

 

Hahaha noses! Personally, I like my noses with a very very slight inward curve while still remaining full. I dont like timy button noses and do prefer them to have a fullness. Especially on guys.

 

I tend to like small cute noses. I'm not sure why. But the nose of a doll can REALLY put me off. Its one of those things that has to be just right for me to go for a sculpt. If its to wide or long or pointed, im just never going to be able to see past it

 

Love, love, love big noses! Long noses, wide noses, noses with bumps on the bridge... Love it.
I don't like super skinny, pointy, straight noses. It's just not that interesting to me.

 

I love a nose with character! I definitely lean to the more realistic end of the spectrum, and I like all kinds, provided they display the artist's skill and attention to detail. In a lot of more stylized sculpts, the nose just feels like an afterthought, which makes me sad.

I do tend to love big noses on my adult male dolls. I have wanted a Unidoll Jace for years due 90% to that glorious nose, and I own a Migidoll Ryu head (he still doesn't have a body, poor boy), and an Alan Rickman Minimee head. So yeah, I am all about the nose!

Iplehouse does some fabulous noses. I can't wait until my BID Coco arrives, so I can see if her cute button nose is as precious in person as it is in pictures

 

Oh man, this is my thread. I love eyes and lips, but the noses are make or break for me. My first time seeing Resinsoul dolls I literally got wide eyed at those huge honkers. They just seem out of proportion to me, but user pictures have them growing on me (I think they look terrible in company pictures). I actually want a few of them now.

I have a bump in my nose, and I think that's how I ended up with a Volks Myu- her nose is the epitome of anime. I alway wanted a little ski slope nose growing up, but I'm over it. Her nose really bothers me now. I've literally just been staring at my dolls noses as I read through this all.

I like button noses, and I'm not a fan of pointy noses. But I want SOME character. My LTF Ante has a perfect nose- wider but not overly wide (I'm looking at you, Enyo), with clearly defined nostrils. I have 2 pukipukis and they're twins but different sculpts- I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to the noses when I picked them out because they got here and all I could see was the girls pig nose and the boys pointy nose XD They've grown on me, though. I think tinies get a lot of neglect in the nose department, because kids often have button noses.

I'm really looking forward to my Iple Erzulie because of her beautiful wide nose. I'm looking at an Impldoll Olina because of that little snub nose...it just brings the sculpt alive, I think. After reading this I've decided to add a Dollmore Ujee to my family- that nose pushed me over the edge.

Honestly though, the big, hooked, manly noses scare me. Probably because in movies they always give them to aggressive male characters Sometimes it fits perfect, but not for me. I'd prefer softer, broader noses, or aquiline ones.

 

I love a nose with a bump on the bridge! Roman or even hooked/beaky! I haven't found one that satisfies yet xD
