I wish NotDolls were still in production.

 

Yeah, they're such unusual dolls; it's a shame there won't be more of them. Although I definitely feel the worst for people who had open orders go unfulfilled.

And although I don't have anything new yet, here's some old spam of my girl, Celandine. (Ugh, I really need to glue in her lashes but I've never done any yet and I'm terrified of messing her up. XD Will have to practice on something before I try on her...)

Agreed. I hope that the people do manage to get something out of it... It's really disheartening when a company leaves so many people hanging. I guess they went the same way that CH did.

Elnuyn85 -- Your girl is really pretty! Love the smokey eyes! I hope to see your girls in the future. I have three, but one needs a new face-up and the other needs a body. I'm thinking of just getting a MiroDoll to put her on just so I can take pics. I don't care about resin matching at this time because I want to play with her so much! These girls are definitely underrated and have tons of personality.

Bristol we have the same idea, i'm thinking to get a Mirodoll body as well to re-home my second Belladonna head, gosh it breaks my heart to see her poor head laying on bottom of the box....

 

If this can help you, I got a Fdoll body for my Aletheia.
It's cheap and good looking to me!
The only thing, I got pale NS which has a slight yellowish undertone and of course, the match is not as good as I hoped, but I don't mind since she's gorgeous anyways. For her sister I'm going to buy a white skin body this time, from the same company of course.

I take a look and the prices aren't bad but MiroDoll is cheapest even if of course it's up to preferences
Personally i would love to have a more mature body for my Beladonna floating head

 

I prefer the bigger bust for my floating head, too. I was going to go with a Soom body, but the MiroDoll body would be a good place holder until I can figure it out... That and I might have to mod it anyways to get it how I'd like it to look. (I will be getting a FDoll body at some point for another head I have tho)

And I love Belladonna's! I have one that I bought on the MP and I just might have to get another. And maybe a triplet.

 

I've finally gotten my ligaya out of her box (after a couple years of being lonely in there because of moving and such). I'm not feeling the way the head sits on the neck, and I don't really want to get another body for her ($$ reasons mostly, plus not wanting to have a random body lying around since I don't think anyone would want to buy it), but the bobbly headed effect is really making me sad- has anyone had luck with sanding down the neck a bit so it's less.. bulgy? I adore her face but the way it sits on her neck is driving me crazy.

cimorengal, have you tried hot glue on the neck?

 

The heads look amazing on Shinydoll bodies. Yes I know, that is my answer for all your hybrid needs, get a Thaasa. That said the neck is just the right size, and it's a slim SD body like the notdoll oen.

 

My Ligaya is actually on the original NotDoll body- which is why I'm so nervous about modding it. I'm already planning to get her some new feet because I'm not happy with the way the original ankle joints are, even with hot glue. I've also sueded her neck, but I think the problem is that it sits too much *on top* of the neck (which is a bit wider at the top than the bottom) for my liking. I may end up trying to sand it down a bit... But I'm unsure at this juncture.

I know I'm probably just being picky and I think my first step before I do any mods will be to get her into some clothes and back into her wig, but you can sort of see what I'm talking about here, how the neck doesn't *quite* mesh with the head as perfectly as I'd like:



That is a fairly old photo of her, but I'm probably sticking with the same wig once I get it unkinked from being in storage (Silly me, I didn't have a wig box for it, so I left it in the baggy and of course it got flattened over the 2 years I didn't have it out)

Here's a (nude and wigless) picture of the upper body- I just feel like the neck looks too long because of how the head floats on top. She definitely has some bobbleheaded-ness going on:

If all else fails and I cannot figure out a way to "fix" the issue and really be 100% happy with her body, I am for sure going to look at a hybrid, because I've seen some GREAT suggestions in here. But I want to try to make what I have work first, because like I said- I don't really want a floating body lying around, hah! I suppose I could find another head that fits better on her body if need be.

I am just so happy I've gotten my dolls back out. I thought that perhaps I didn't love them anymore because I didn't *miss* them terribly while I had them in storage during the moves, but now that I've unboxed them and started getting them back "into shape," I am just falling in love with them again. I had waffled back and forth a lot on my Ligaya but I really do adore her face and I'm thrilled that I decided to purchase her when I did. I just wish NotDoll had not gone away! I would have loved to get her some sisters!

 

I have to tell you cimorengal, that is the way my girls look too, they are all on their original bodies, although from time to time I have put them on a Thaasa body as well. They were the first dolls I ordered from an overseas website, in 2006? Still adorable, IMO. This is Aurelia, she's a supermodel.
