1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

NotDoll Lab Lady Line general discussion

Mar 13, 2011

    1. I own an Argeia completed i've got from notdoll by early autumn and i've bought an aemeth head later in early winter, the resin is different in color, while argeia is clearly a sorto of wisteria pink aemaeth is a rosy white...
I'm still positive that angels doll could be a possible match at least for a rosy white resin skin tone.

    2. i'm wondering if volks dollfie dream would match? i think i saw a hybrid in one of the threads - but now i don't remember what color resin the head was.... the dollfie dream body would have the shape i'm after.... grrr.... so can't wait for the heads to come so i can start playing with my girls! (the twins will need to wait a little bit as i need to get bodies for some other heads first :sweat ). i'm also excited to have belladonnas coming as they've inspired a couple of my own sculpted dolls and it'll be nice to compare lips - i just adore those fishy lips!

    3. Oh! really? I always thought that Notdoll were pretty consistant with their colour. I looked for a long time and found references that the DollnDoll white was nearly exact but it's not great with the head I got. So I wonder if I got the more pink resin heads from ND. I have an Angelsdoll Angela head in white skin and it's very white so the Angelsdoll White skin will not be a match. I don't know about Angelsdoll normal skin.

    4. @darkmothflame As far as i know volks color is near to yellow, correct?I'm not able to claim nothing about volks since i never owned a sinle parts from volks, nor hands nor feet,so i can't say, unfortunately nothing...all i can say is that in my opionion a final touch of blush could surely solve the problem ^^

@phae_11 as far as i know Angels Doll white is slightly rosy,i'm referring of course to the actual production, but i don't know for sure since i havan't in hand any parts to compare my notdoll heads to.
I have paid a full Angels Doll body in angels normal so i can made a comparison.I don't know what to say regarding the different resin batch from Notdoll...i can see clearly a difference between the Argeia head (arrived on middle of OCT) and the Aemeath head ( arrived on early FEB) i can takes some piccies..i guess could be interesting.

    5. the dollfie dreams have a warm pinky tone to them (it's actually one of my favorite colors for dolls ^^)

    6. UHM..then i guess it could works, all i can say is that the dollmore NS hands are closer to notdoll resin color, both tone i mean, it's just a bit peachy in comparison with NotDoll ^^

    7. i can take some comparison pics, as i own fram angels doll company a volks compatible white color, not sure if it's this one the color you're mention actually, and shortly i'll get the angels doll white normal resin color-a crystal rose actually- as soon as i have all with me i'll going to share some pics over here.:)

    8. Eee, I tried my first face-up this weekend. XD I should note that I have absolutely no artistic training (or skill) -- I don't even wear make up myself, so I don't really have anything to fall back on. This was my first time working with pastels at all; I've only ever used cheap acrylics to paint a couple of crappy little wooden craft items.

      It's kind of terrible, but I wasn't expecting much for my first try. ^^;

I learned a lot about what not to do, for my next go around, anyway. My MSC is really peeling up near the eye. D: My technique needed a lot of work.

Forgive the wonky eyes; I don't have anything like eye putty yet, so I used some shredded paper to force the eyes into place for the purpose of the photograph, but it wasn't a very good hold.

If anybody wants to see more of the lulztactic badness, I posted images of my progress in my LJ.

Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures of her in a more presentable state within the next few weeks (and hopefully she'll have clothes soon).

    9. Regarding putty you can buy some very good one from safrin doll store it's located in USA and sells very good putty for the eyes.
Regarding the MSC maybe you spray too close the head of the doll?
I love the color of the eyes a lot actually ^^
Oh i've paid in full my order finally!!!

    10. i don't know about any one else, but i'd be interested in seeing pictures (or at least a link to some) ^^

    11. You mean some comparison piccies from the different skin tone of mine notdoll heads?
Sorry if i understood wrong ^^"

    12. Ooh, I've been wanting to order some eyes from Safrin anyway, so I'll be sure to pick up some of the putty once I get the funds to make my order. :D

I'm pretty sure I was too close with the MSC, though, yeah. I didn't feel like I was that close, but once I started paying attention, I probably got too close a few times and sprayed it on too thickly. Definitely going to have to work on getting better at spraying. XD

Congratulations on getting your order paid off! :D Hopefully it won't take long to arrive!

    13. Thanks so much,Notdoll replied me that it will takes at least 2 weeks which isn't that long wait honestly i've added thre face up to my order so isn't that long wait

Be careful with MSC do not use if the weather is too humid,it leave some weird white stains if sprayed too closed...

Oh for the putty as far as i know safrin sells two type of eye putty one brown and the other is in silicone, the one in silicone is simply stunning, give it a try ^^

    14. Oooh, yeah, 2 weeks isn't bad at all! Of course, it always feels longer when you're waiting, but that's very reasonable all the same.

Luckily I live in a very dry climate, so I don't have to fight humidity much. I did get the weird white spots, though; it looked almost like the MSC was pooling in some of the lower areas, which probably was from spraying too close and too thickly.

I'll give the silicone stuff a try, then! ^^

    15. UHM..thru i'm not so skilled with finish matte i can tell that probably was the distance, tto closer definitely, the very first time i've used was onto a blythe doll and after i sprayed too closer of course simply the sealant came off in chipping...T3T

Also safrin doll have also for sale some stunning eyes, maybe you can save buying also some eyes too..oh also jasmin cottage have for sale some good silicone putty ^^

    16. Eee, yeah, that sounds like my problem, then. D: I'll have to work at sticking a little farther back in the future.

And hopefully I'll be able to make an order for some eyes and putty soon. ^^ Thank you again!

    17. Not at all, some good eyes,i've tried myself on some notdoll heads, are the souldoll eyes that are acrylic eyes but are very pretty ^^

    18. lol, i think you did pretty good! well, depending on what youre going for, anyway. She looks very near dead or recently undead in the photo to me >.< Is that scarring on her face, or a trick of the peeling MSC? Anyway, in particular I think you did a stellar job with the eyebrows, they appear even, placed naturally on the face, and well sized. I find most first-time faceupers mess eyebrows up the most *raises hand* so well done!

    19. skyealloway - Thank you! ^^

Hahah, I wasn't really going for dead/undead, but I love zombies and the dead-look, so it probably crept in unintentionally. X3 I have a sort of dark/punk character in mind, so I was going for something that was kind of dark and dramatic.

They are indeed scars -- I tried the glue trick, but it really flattened out a lot more than I expected after it dried. I hadn't planned to place the scars there, but I moved them to where the MSC was peeling anyway, as a cheat. XD I ended up liking the placement enough that I'll probably put them back there after I redo the face.

And thank you for the comments on the eyebrows! ^^ I was really worried about getting them placed properly, so I spent a lot of energy trying to get them right. They still weren't perfect but I think they were one of the parts I was happiest with.
