Q. How many new/or second hand dolls did you buy in your first year of doll collecting?
- First year 2007/2008 I bought 5 dolls plus one head, 2 Obitsu 60 both heads, Fairyland pukipuki, Domayu flexi, Soul kid and Nanuri 06 head They was 2 new and the 3 others plus head were second hand

- Since my doll year starts in September Currently this year at 7 plus. I did have a few hiatus over the years

- 24 complete dolls, 5 heads the I've found while doing a quick count and 9 off topic dolls

- Currently 1 Fairyland minifee

- None and nothing

 

Q. How many new/or second hand dolls did you buy in your first year of doll collecting?
- Just one, it was a Blue Blood Doll Valentine in 2014. The second doll I bought was in 2015 (and she arrived in 2016).

Q. Which year was the year you bought the most dolls?
- Last year (2022). I bought a grail Volks Mimi second-hand, a DF-H body (head just arrived), 4 floating heads (2 second hand, 2 new), and 2 blind-box dolls.

- 11 full dolls, 5 floating heads, 1 free body

Q. How many dolls are you waiting for to arrive or paying off?
- I've paid off a Black Box Mochi (a pet fox doll) and I'm waiting for him to get home!

Q. How many dolls or doll related items did you sell off or plan to sell off?
- No, none! But I did knit doll-sized scarves and hats that I have given away. I don't plan on selling anything, but I'm OK with making things and giving them away to other doll friends.

I only purchased one doll in my first year, although I was gifted one that same year.

Last year I went crazy with doll purchases. I bought a PW Tristan head, an Myou body, a PW V.F. Mona, and started a long layaway for my PW Red.

I'm waiting for 1, a Soul Doll Millie.

None atm. But I plan to get my sister a doll and will probably give her some wigs, eyes, and shoes I don't use much.

 

Q. How many new/or second hand dolls did you buy in your first year of doll collecting?
In my first year of collecting (Dec '06-Dec '07) I purchased 3-4 dolls. I believe only one was new. The rest were second hand. Its been quite some time so my memory might not be correct on that.

Most likely 2009 when I purchased 4 around the same time. Or at least 4.... I can only remember 4. I was working a good job and was in a place in my life where I had disposable income to do as I pleased. So I went a little hard on the doll purchases. Honestly though this backfired on me. Having a large influx of dolls come in at the same time ended up burning me out a bit and it slowly lead (amongst other things) to me leaving the hobby in 2011.

Q. How many dolls are currently in your collection?
Only 2. I left the hobby in 2011and took a 10+ year hiatus. So I am just getting back in the swing of things now.

Q. How many dolls are you waiting for to arrive or paying off?
At the moment none. The last doll I was waiting for arrived (well as of now in EST time zone) yesterday.

I sold off all of my original collection. Some I regret selling. Others I am content with having sold. Some I am looking to purchase back eventually. As of right now I don't plan to sell off any dolls or related items.

-2 new full dolls and 1 new head, no 2nd hand purchases.

-Probably 2020? I ended up doubling my collection one year, and sold most of that later on.

-Around 15

-waiting for 3 dolls or bodies, though not sure if I keep all as I bought one for hybrid testing purposes and if he doesn't fin that specific head I have, he's out.

-In all my hobby years? Too much to count if we also take clothes etc. into account. Dolls, heads and bodies, maybe 30? There are a couple that may have to pack their bags in the near future.

Just one! Latidoll Blue Rei + his sales photo outfit. I was a high school student at the time who made money babysitting and cooking so I couldn't exactly go buckwild on the spending.

There were two years while I was in college where I bought three full dolls in one year. One year it was a Soom Chrom and two tinies from now-defunct companies, and one year I bought 2(!) Iplehouse Biancas and an Atelier Momoni tiny (I think?). I don't usually buy a lot of dolls in a year because I usually end up spending double the cost of the doll to buy it all of the accessories (I have uhhhh.... expensive tastes).

Just one! Well, there's technically another doll in the house but I just haven't been able to style her in a way that makes me want to keep her.

None! I was waiting for a certain doll to go on sale again since the beginning of the year, but now that she's available... I realized I don't want her? I dunno. I'm really picky these days and usually find reasons not to buy a doll. Last doll that really made my heart pitter-patter was an iMda Amellia, my Leonie, and I still have her and I don't feel the same way about other dolls like I do about her, so... I don't really see the point of getting another doll unless I feel the same way.

Um... A lot? Of full dolls, I've owned a Lati Blue Rei, a Luts Bory, defunct company YoSD-size boy, Soom Chrom, Soom Lami, 2x Iplehouse YID Bianca, Atelier Momoni melo*, Iplehouse YID Bliss. I've also had 5 or 6 heads that never got bodies. That's ones no longer with me. I also sold off their entire wardrobe and accessory package every time I decided to move on because my dolls almost never shared sizes or styles. I have one girl that I'm trying to sell, but kinda waffling on. She's still really stunning and I sometimes wonder if I can just get her new clothes and keep her around. I also originally intended my Amellia to look very different so um... I have a lot of things I need to sell of from that attempt too.

 

1. How many new/or second hand dolls did you buy in your first year of doll collecting?

Four, all new. The first was technically the year before (2012) but it was near the end of December. She was a X-mas Kit Mini Gem from Soom and arrived in March of 2013, the same year as I ordered and received the next 3. (Dollmore Banji, Fairyland Real Puki, and DIM Honey)

2015, I received 7 that year. I keep track of my dolls arrival dates, not order dates, so 1 may have been pre-ordered the year before.

My current BJD collection is at 26, though I have and additional 3 I intend to sell. My current collection is mostly tinies and 4 MSDs.

I'm currently waiting on 4. Paris from Dream Valley, Lan Qi from Miracle Doll, Izzy from Dream Valley, and The Hanged Man from Dollzone. (Technically I'm also waiting on a tiny Hound from Dollshe, but since I ordered him in 2018, I doubt he'll ever exist)

So far I've sold 8 full dolls and one face-plate. There are 3 full dolls and a floating head I'm planning to sell.

One and an extra head. I don't buy dolls often because of the expense.

...same year. Only resin purchase I've made since has been a body for that extra head.

2 resin, 5 OT BJDs (they count to me), and a host of other dolls that I haven't bothered to count. Planning on buying a nice MSD-sized doll.

I bought my first doll in about 2010 but didn't do anything with her or get any more dolls until this year. This year I have bought 8 with 1 on layaway.

Seven.

One layaway from Loongsoul (since production time is about 6 months anyway), one paid-off layaway being made (Dollmore) and one in the post (secondhand Volks SD).

None. I was planning on selling my one girl, but I fell hard into BJDs now I'm an adult with my own money. No regrets, hahaha!

Q1: How many new or secondhand dolls did you buy in your first year of doll collecting?

2021 - 4 total. I bought 1 new doll, was gifted a secondhand doll, and bought 2 secondhand dolls. My first doll was an Iplehouse FID Oscar (SH), my second was a Pukifee Ante (SH), my third was a Pukifee PongPong (SH, gift), and my fourth was a Doll Leaves Hedy (N).

2022 - 4 total. I bought 3 new dolls, 1 secondhand doll. I bought Doll Leaves Berg (N), Lillycat Deavon (N), YummySweets Ume (N), and Lillycat Bo (SH).

2023 - 3 total. I bought 2 new dolls and was gifted one new doll. I also got a Pukifee event faceplate that I will eventually turn into a full doll. I bought MagicMirror Levon (N), an OT doll (N), and SoulDoll Joelle (N, gift). This year isn’t over yet, but I’m not expecting to get any others unless my grail comes up for preorder.

I needed to do that full breakdown for this question! It would seem I am an extreme creature of habit because I have nearly the same for all 3 years I’ve been here so far xD I am just now realizing this.

With me right now, I have 9 dolls.

I am waiting for the arrival of 2 dolls! SoulDoll Joelle and the OT doll.

Currently nothing xD I love all my dolls even if it’s only been this year that I’ve decided how they all fit and who all of their characters are!
