1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Obitsu General Discussion - Part Three (60cm, 55cm, 50cm and 47cm)

Oct 14, 2016

    1. That's normal, don't worry. Just try to wigle the joint up and down (bend and unbend) pushing a bit on the way up. After several rounds it should get in its place. If your unsure how to do it, I could record a quick video.

    2. Mysha is right. The elbows and knees are supposed to do that! There is a slide mechanism in those joints, which allows the joint to dislocate. This allows deeper bends of those joints.

Check out the picture half way down this page.
      【60BD-F04-G】60cmオビツボディ 球状関節モデル OBITSU SHOP

The text above the image machine translates to: "A model that adopted a spherical joint in Hyji and Knee also joined. By adopting the slide mechanism (patent pending), joints can be bent largely".

To get the center disk back inside the ball, flex the joint from straight to 90 degrees several times while pushing the part of the limb that is attached to the disk (shin or lower arm) back towards the center of the ball. Or you can open the joint so the leg (or arm) is straight and squeeze the disk back into the ball. This might take a little more muscle than the flexing method.

    3. Gasp!
I had no idea they had this sort of functionality! Wow, that's super handy. Good to know nothing got busted or dislodged all wonkily despite him hitting the floor pretty hard. Better safe than sorry, so I'm glad I asked!
That is pretty easy to wiggle back into place!

    4. Does anyone happen to have the knee circumference for the Obitsu 55cm or 60cm body?

      Thank you!

    5. It is 9.5-10cm for Obitsu 60.

    9. I want to get one eventually but since she'd be separate from the rest of my collection, I've been putting it off to spend the money elsewhere. I love how different people can make them look with different styling :0

    10. I have a few APs

The full size version of this image can be found here.
You may find this image useful for comparing the various AP and other similar bodies.
This image is a little out of date as there are now several more Type H busts/bodies. The Soft Skin models have the same appearance as their normal vinyl counterparts.

A bit of history of the evolution to the current AP can be found here:

If you need images of AP models, I would refer you to my ongoing photo story MADh Vinyl, which by episode 180, 75% of the cast are AP and other similar Obitsu 50cms.

    15. Those girls are so cute! I’m a fan, even after just discovering them. I really like the one in pink.

    16. They are cute! I'm a bit confused about the Obitsu made brands of dolls and them being on-topic or not. I read the guidelines many times, but that one is a bit vague..... just in case, I went to an all-dolls forum to investigate and branched out on Facebook where more owners are sharing them. I'm super excited to learn that different heads and body parts are perfect for hybrids, as that's what I am plotting and planning to do... I've already ordered some parts that I want to use to do this, and eyeballing the Obitsu doll that would be most compatible, the 48cm. If that all works, I can easily see myself going for a 50cm later. I'm also excited as Obitsu has guy bodies so they can have male companions too. @K-2! has been incredibly generous with their time to give me a crash course on the vinyl options in the world of BJDs. It's really exciting and I wish I had known long ago that the vinyl isn't like the ABS dolls as I had been lead to believe for some reason..... whole different animal. I have no idea where I got that from.

    17. Completely understandable. DoA has gone to great lengths to narrow the focus of their forum. However Obitsus and their Volks counterpart, the Dollfie Dreams were here before their multi-pointed exclusion rules were enacted. Therefore both dolls were "grandfathered" in. While almost identical in construction and materials to Obitsus and DDs, newcomers Smart Doll and Vindoll have been deemed "off topic" and have been relegated to the DoA land of misfit toys, Brigadoon https://denofangels.com/forums/brigadoon.144/

The 40cm through 65cm dolls manufactured by Obitsu, whether marketed by Obitsu or manufactured for another company (Azone, Yamato VMFs, Angel Philia, RAP, Parabox, Visuadoll, etc.) are all on topic here.

    18. Does somebody has a 48cm Misuzu? I been searching pictures but not luck. I will be very thankful if you have her and can share some pictures.

Also I does somebody know if Mafuyu head would fit the 40cm body? I know Mafuyu is for a 50 or 48 cm body, but I'm curios if the head would fit a 40cm too.

    19. I don't know if you guys are aware yet but parabox is having a summer sale 20% off in all their products :)

      I couldn't resist and I order a Mafuyu head with a 40cm girl body :)

I remember somebody asking how Mafuyu head would look in the 40cm body. I had the same question but I have a friend that own a Obitsu 40cm body, and a Mafuyu head. So I asked him if he please could show me both together and he did. I think the convination looks great so that's why I order her. I can't wait to get her.

I shared my friend picture on the Obitsu 40-47cm discussion thread. I will leave the link to the thread in case you guys want to know how Mafuyu looks in the 40cm body. Poor 40cm-47 Obitsu discussion thread has been empty since 2015 :p
