Obitsu General Discussion - Part Three (60cm, 55cm, 50cm and 47cm)

Trying one more time...
Does anyone here know if I can use an old head on a new body or
do I need to buy a completely new doll.

 

I've never seen a different neck piece for the 47/50 cm bodies as long as I've been paying attention. Mine is about 2 years old. If it's a different type of neck piece than what's being sold a la carte at Parabox, then it could be a different story.

 

Although the neck connector has changed, a new style being introduced with the first 50cm bodies, the heads both old and new work equally well with both old and new neck pieces.
The only issues might be skin color match and relative size of the head. Some of the heads designed for the 50cm body, particularly some Angel Philias, may look small on the larger (60cm+) bodies.
These neck connection issues includes 50cm and 60cm dolls from Parabox, Azone, Obitsu, Angel Philia, Real Art Project (RAP), Visuadoll and a few others.

 

I want to buy a pre-designed head now that I’ve messed up the head I had with ink and don’t know how to remove it.. I dislike the HARUKA head the previous owner sent with GONN (Good Ole No Name).

I do want to switch GONN’s head when she gets here.

In other news, I saw ObitsuShop has began selling their incredibly popular 50cm body + head in Super Whitey (as in bright white; not the.. other meaning).

Why can’t they sell exterior replacement parts in new colors for their old bodies? I’d buy parts in new colors!

 

My girls Dulce and Pamela. I have a floating Type J head but she is getting a face up right now. I just order the skeleton frame parts from parabox to try to put her body together. The joints will be different color to her body because her body is tan. But I keep hearing about ObitsuShop. Does somebody knows the link to the obitsuShop.

Unfortunately, ObitsuShop only ships for those in Japan.

Note: I was looking at 60cm parts, so you’ll arrive on the 60cm parts section of the site. And the site is entirely in Japanese.

 

Tan skeletal parts can be purchased from Angel Philia (when they are in stock). AP doesn't ship internationally so you will need a proxy.

I already order all the whitey skeleton parts from parabox. I’m hoping it won’t look that bad with the brown Outer body parts. She will wear clothes most of the time (poor thing LOL) I’m waiting for Mandarake to let me know if the brown outer body parts were in stock. If not I will get them little by little from faithZ

 

I don't know that it would look bad. I've never seen it done that way. If you don't like it, then that would just mean changing the elbows, knees, wrists and ankles anyhow. So, it wouldn't be a huge loss if you don't like it. Maybe they can be dyed? I have no idea! I'm still waiting to find more tan wrist parts so my tan girl can wear all the hands I have for her. I need 4 sets of tan wrist parts. I'm patient for that, so I'll probably be waiting a long time. It took some years to get all of the C and H series whitey outer pieces and I managed to get all of those!

 

I decided to buy the hand-painted Parabox Obitsu Luna head in D with a wig cap and mixed pink hair with bangs. I‘m not buying any clothing until my doll is delivered. I think clothing from the porcelain dolls I’ve collected over 6-7 years should fit her anyways.

 

I saw some Angel Philia hull and thigh parts on Mandarake! I’m not sure if they’re still there, but it’s a worth a check in their Soft Vinyl Doll section!

I’m hoping my Parabox-Obitsu Doll heads (blank Luna head stained with ink, seller’s Obitsu HARUKA, and new hand-painted D Luna head) get a body soon.

Is it possible to turn/mod a 50cm Obitsu body into a 60cm Obitsu body by lengthening its legs?

If it’s possible, then I’ll be able to have a 50cm body + trunk but with legs of the original 60cm body. Her arm length may look disproportionate with her modified leg length.

 

The only skeletal parts that are compatible between the 50cm and 60cm bodies are the neck piece and the spine assembly. Other parts have connections which are different sizes. With some modifications it could be possible to lengthen the "bone" pats of legs and arms in order to use 60cm vinyls. How well these 60cm limb parts look with 50cm body parts is up to the owner.

I'm interested to see if anyone does try 60cm legs on a 50cm doll. I would wonder if the hip parts of the outer pieces may not fit together?

@MrFjmg2003 That looks to be a nice shop. I've looked there before was was too confused to try to buy anything! Does the shop ship to the US? Some things that interest me are lower price, and I'd feel silly paying so many fees on top of the shipping twice for something that's only about 7 USD.

 

Yes they ship to USA. But currently they are doing it by DHL so shipping is quite pricey

 

I found a 50cm Obitsu body at an online auction. I hope I win! Replacement parts will be necessary if I do win.. I’d have to wait until the body is delivered. The same is true for my 60cm whose Japan Post tracking summary hasn’t updated since December 12th.

ALL the parts for the body finally made it to USA I order everything on Monday so DHL is fast.

Here is a picture of my Pamela (AP Natsumi) I got her head and bust as an extra when I bought my AP Honoka, but I’m not going to lie she has become one of my favorites. She will keep the soft body I was using for my Type J head, and I will used the body I’m putting together for my Type J head instead.

Wow. That sounds complicated. I am completely new to vinyl BJDs and will be unable to attempt "perfect" modifications after a day, month or even a year of ownership. This could take years, lots of money and possibly ruined parts.

I’m still very excited about my 60cm. I want the shipping summary to update! It’s day 33 of me waiting for a Japan Post shipping update. Please, please, please hurry up..
