Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Obitsu General Discussion - Part Three (60cm, 55cm, 50cm and 47cm)

Oct 14, 2016

    1. Do the armature parts fit together loosely without the outer pieces? If so, some suggest putting a layer of tape on the pegs.If they are not loose without the outer pieces, the pegs may not be engaging all the way.

    2. Okay, I got one leg in right. I forgot what I did to get it in correctly so I’m back to trial and error. I hope I don’t break the hip joint like I did last time..

    3. I might have found the problem. When replacing the thigh/hip ball joints, I had to wiggle and coerce the part out to replace it.

In replacing the ball joint, I unknowingly flattened inside of the leg joint and rendered it unable to hold the thigh joint in place. This resulted in the thigh joint shifting back and forth when I attempted to connect it with the thigh joint holder.

I used a blow dryer and my hands to create a decent ball joint border that is holding up the ball for now but can be improved later.

I’ll see if this fixes my leg floppiness issue and will update you all again in the morning. Or soon if I can’t sleep.

    4. There's a ring on the hip that needs to come over the receiving end. You push it towards the torso to be loose, and pull it towards the foot to be tighter. Sometimes things are much easier when you are well-rested. I find I get frustrated very, very easily if I try to do much of anything that takes focus when I'm tired.

    5. This is my last update for tonight.

I got Meigana’s legs and internal skeleton parts working properly! I stuffed tissue paper in between the leg wall and thigh joint to keep it stable in order to insert the leg tube completely into the hip peg. I then used rapid horizontal and vertical movements mixed with brute strength to get the leg into the hip firmly.

The less-problematic leg needed to be coaxed in by holding her leg and rotating it along with vertical and horizontal movements to jimmy the leg tube into the hip peg.

I didn’t break or crack any parts during my operation and will not disassemble Meigana unless it’s necessary!

It was my curiosity that caused me to break Meigana’s parts in the first place!

Miss Frankenstein needs to sleep now.

    6. My RemoveZit was delivered today! I made the horrible decision of smelling it and got an incredibly pungent whiff of what smells like vinegar and baking soda multiplied by 100. Most of the time, I can’t breathe or smell out of my nose but the smell was.. BLECH!!!

I applied RemoveZit all over my yellowed doll limbs, Meigana’s body and my black ink-stained test head. How long do I need to wait to remove this stuff?

    7. I've been using Remove-Zit for about 10 years. I've never used it on yellowing. For straight up clothing/dye transfer stains I'll leave it on for a couple of days at least.
Darker stains can require multiple applications.

    8. That’s why I haven’t been getting the results I was hoping for! I thought I was applying it incorrectly, so I kept removing and re-applying it after a day.

I am having trouble keeping both of Meigana’s hands/wrist tubes from coming out when rotated or adjusted. Meigana’s hands and wrists were not like this when she arrived. I suspect her wrists loosened after I disassembled her for the first time. How do I fix this?

02/17/21: I decided to buy Dolly Pop’s DP60 dynamite bust + 50-60 plump thighs + 60 abdomen (to prevent gapping) for Meigana.

The arm holes require trimming so Meigana’s arms will fit and maintain their functionality. The neck needs trimming to fit a 50cm neck joint.

    10. Is that an Angel Philia doll? I haven’t seen an AP doll with a pear shaped body before.

    11. Yes she is. I think she has the same body as my AP girls but with the small bust. My AP girls look to mature because of her huge bust. But when I change her huge bust to the small bust their body shape looks like that.

    12. Ai is so cute. I think I have seen her on Instagram before. She looks familiar :) I love her outfit and congrats on the new girl :)

    13. I just ordered a 40 CM Obitsu body for a head that I have. I hope it fits. I know the head is obitsu, but I don't remember which one it is, lol.

    14. The head should fit on both a new and old style neck joint piece. I have a new style neck joint so I’ll tell you what I did.

I got this idea from Dolliehsanctuary when I was struggling with the installation of my new style neck joint piece!

I opened up the doll’s head cap, disassembled the new neck joint using a screwdriver, positioned the neck joint locking collar on the U-shaped part of the neck joint holder. The neck joint locking collar’s “teeth” should be aligned.

Then I reassembled it making sure it stayed aligned and tight without stripping the screw in the center of it.

The head should be able to move back and forth and side to side firmly with little to no resistance.

K-2 knows more about this than me, as it was from his post and other users’ replies I got my solution from!

Here is the link to one of the tutorials I read.

    15. Talking to myself about the AP small bust option made me remember I have a winter outfit I haven’t even try on Dulce because only fits on her small bust. I was to lazy to switch the bust but I finally decided to do it. Let’s say her bust shrink because of the super cold winter :p

    16. No wonder! AP thighs are really curvy and influence how, well, everything looks on its user!

    17. Yes, two of my girls are hard vinyl so her curves don’t look that big. But the one with the soft vinyl once I stuff the legs with cotton it made the things look bigger :)

    18. I’m exploding with ideas on what I’m going to do when my DollyPop stuff is delivered! I ordered 50cm-60cm combined plump thighs, dynamite 60cm busts and 60cm abdomen.

I am beating myself up for shipping through FedEx instead of DHL due to severe winter weather and COVID-19 vaccine delays in their Memphis FedEx Express hub!

I have a question about AP and Obitsu arm and shin part fits. I went on FaithZ to look at AP soft skin arms and soft skin shins to put on Meigana for increased flexibility and appearance.

Will AP arm and shin parts fit on an Obitsu 50cm doll?

I read APs are 48cm, so replacement parts sold would be for specifically 48cm dolls. However, I saw that some AP arm and leg parts have Obitsu 50 in their descriptions.

    19. The arms would definitely fit. The shin are going to be smaller. I put together an AP body in parts and I used the obitsu 50cm skeleton frame. The arms fit perfectly, but the shins where a few cm smaller than the skeleton. I will have to trim it down.
