1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Obitsu Neck Pieces

Jul 31, 2009

    1. I have both and I have to say I HaTe the new neck piece with a passion!
Yes the old neck piece can pop off occasionally, but I just cut a little slotted donut from an ice cream container lid, which I pop on inside the head, and I have never had a head fall off, no matter what I did to my poor doll. I bought her 2nd hand so she didn't have the proper donut, and mine is much thinner anyway.
Please excuse the messy tab of the neck part, it broke, so i glued it back together with epoxy, works fine now:)

With the new one, I don't see a greatly improved range of movement, and it's a pain in the butt to heat the head up each time you want to change clothing or heads, and you run the risk of damaging your faceup or sealers, plus over time repeated heating of the vinyl WILL make it become brittle and perished. Also you can't really use a resin head on your Obitsu body with the new one, so unless you want to buy a new neck part for each of your floating heads, I just don't see how it's a better option.

Unfortunately it seems that only the new neck parts are being sold by most dealers now, which is a shame, so yeah if anyone knows of a place where you can still buy the old neck parts, please PM me, so I can stock up.
