1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Oh no! I did what I said I wouldn't!

Jul 22, 2009

    1. I tell my husband every time after buying a new boy, "okay I'm almost done, I don't need more than x+1 (x=current number) dolls" and he just shakes his head and says "suuuuure". I asked him once what makes him so certain and he said "because you're still in this hobby".

He's so right too :|

    2. I told myself I would never, ever buy a Volks doll. I didn't like how most of them looked, and the prices were just too ridiculous for me. Little did I know that one of the mystery dolls I had fallen in love with was a Volks limited ;o; He's now almost completely assembled ^^;
      I also said that I wouldn't attempt to do any customization on a doll. I just finished doing a complete torso tattoo on one of my friend's dolls, modified the blushing on one of my boys' bodies, and have to sand a neck next weekend x_X;

(and Clearly simple, I adore your icon :))

    3. Thank you! Actually, the only reason I found this was becuase I noticed the Roxas icon and Dearly Beloved...I'm such a Nomura fan...:doh

    4. happens all the time lol. I fell in love with DZ Hid, but my heart and money went to a DZ Meigi.

    5. Dolls are like highly addictive drugs, they always talk you into something...

... I don't think I'm sticking to anything I said I would do in this hobby...

Doesn't help that I don't want them to be lonely so I'm physically incapable of wanting one doll in a certain size range, needs to be two so they have a same-size buddy!

    6. Even though I'm rather broke, owe my parents money and said I wouldn't get a doll until maybe next summer, I fell in love a week ago.

Worst part is, she's a limited edition with a rare skin tone and a very high price tag. So even though she'll be released as a basic soon, the skin tone won't be. Since I can't host a split either, I'm currently waiting for a body to appear in splits (a head is already there) otherwise she's going on layaway this Friday >_<.

I can now understand now how addicting the can be :(.

    7. Okay--really honest I WAS going to get only one. She was a an american BJD and also told myself that I would not spend the big bucks on the resin kids--boy oh boy. I bumped it up to a Bobobie An, (my girl needed a boy right?), then is was love at first sight, Elf Doll Hazy..then SHE needed a boyfriend, so along came soul doll Killian. Ahhh, stumbled on a doll I thought I couldn't get, Unoa Lusis (a hybrid-she replaced the american bjd--she went to my daughter) well..couldn't pass that up right??? ACK now I am awaiting a Dollstown Estella!!!!! That is 4 in that last year!!! Now will Estella need a boyfriend too? Help me..sinking fast!

    8. I thought I would be happy with just 2. Keijo and Shin. Somehow there are now 12 + The wish list, which keeps getting put off for other releases. . . . I think I'm doom'd

    9. BJDs are directly connected to the feeling of " collecting"...
      well...the word explais itself...
      " COLLECTING.... "
no one can stop this need T_T (addiction, I should say)

    10. yeah, this has happened to me! I was supposed to be saving for new stuff for Reika, and after promising she'd be my only doll, I ended up deciding to save that money for my next doll, an AoD An. And I'm debating whether to save THAT money for an AoD Ruo Feng or DZ Floy. Decisions, decisions...

    11. Heh, that's a familiar situation. <3 I was quite thoroughly convinced three weeks before ordering my first girl (Who's been on order for just over two weeks now. :D ) that I would be saving to purchase a Zaoll Luv, because I /really/ adore her. But then I saw Tatiana from Iplehouse, and I just fell head over heels. (Of course, it helped that my parents offered to pay up to a hundred as an early Christmas present for me, and I'd only that much left to save for Tatiana with shipping!)

Well, I'd also convinced myself I'd get just one. You know, to keep the parents from complaining about resin kids overrunning the house. Well, my first girl isn't even here, and she still needs clothes and a wig and such, but I'm already looking into getting another doll, to be her... well, her guy, I suppose. Haha. And my stepmom is already siding with me. ;D Glee.

    12. i'm saving for the daffodil doll by spirit doll but i fell in love with the woosoo... even though he's limited!!!! i really want a woosoo... but i told myself id get daffodil first

      oh decisions!!!

    13. Happened to me as well. I was going to get a Dark Elf Soo for my first (and only) doll. Well, I ended up falling head over heals for the Juri 06 event head and never ended up getting the Dark Elf Soo... still would not mind having one, the limiteds seem to keep her off my "to get" list. :sweat

    14. Haha... I strictly told myself, and actually swear that I will only get one. One, thats it.

Then I saw Souldoll's Philippa, hearts flew after that... so I thought to myself a girl doll would be nice too, and two dolls would be just nice.

Then Iplehouse released their EID Chase...

      /facepalm

seems like my willpower is not strong enough.

    15. I said, "I will never spend over $600 on a doll!" Well, that flew out the window when Kurumi was re-released last year. :doh

    16. I am in the same situation. I first discovered BJDs in April, received my first in June, and now I have 7 resins, 1 resin on the way, a DD, a Blythe, a Dal, a Toffee, and a Hujoo. Holy Hannah. I am completely obsessed. :doh

As much as I love and want all of my dolls, I feel guilty. There are so many people in the hobby who have less than I do. I feel like an imposter. Should I feel bad?

    17. That's so funny, my first and second were almost the same as yours--and American and then Elf Boy Song. ^__^

    18. Step 1: Oh I just need three bjds - Cillian, Whisper and Song. They can cosplay as Seifer, Squall and Irvine!

Step 2: Oh look, bobobie tinies are only $93 for that cute little white one here at yaoicon. I'll get one to practice face ups with!

Step 3: Hm... my Barron is too manly to be Cillian, I'll just get a local artist to do a face up for me and turn him into seifer full time.

Step 4: Yay, Squall is home (what happened to whisper?) and ...oh look at that poor dollzone msd on the market place in need of luvvins. Oh I know! He could be Danial!

Step 4b: I can sell this gift slee...p....ing.... Oh bugger. You'd be perfect for Calder. Oh well~

Step 5: omg, that gift head with the DIM body is PERFECT for Cillian! I'll just sell the elf head.

Step 6: Omg I love the way the elf heads ears stick through the long wig. I'll keep him after all.

Step 7: wouldn't the turks from FF7 be cute as pukis? OMG They released a chocolate skin - I wouldn't have to get one dyed to be Rude!

Step 8: Oh, when did I get up to having three minimee heads home and another five on their way (hopefully) by the end of the year? damn, this is going to be expensive when I get bodies for them all.

Step 9: *finally* order Irvine, the planned to be 3rd originally doll, actually my seventh full doll.

    19. I said one was more than enough, so I did what I said I wouldn't do, the day the second girl came home (and the third, etc., etc.) XD

    20. I said I wouldn't get a "fat" Volks doll--especially not an MSD, as I didn't care for any of the faces.

Now I own a Volks MSD Nagisa, and her chubby hands and overall non-slender sculpt are what I adore about her!! I still don't like any of the standard MSD heads, but I really love Nagisa's sculpt. ♥
