Oink oink to all Piggy lovers

Jan 29, 2010

    1. Hey Folks, sorry to hear this, I can very much relate.

Leopardessmoon did an utterly amazing job reinforcing and replacing all the metal fittings in my Fireflies, she uses non rusting really terrific materials, and gets the dolls back to you safely and fast.

Also as mine had chips, she is an utter genius in using resin from other parts of the dolls to make utterly invisible repairs. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I too love my dolls and didnt want replacements, and I swear they all came back better than new. Hope this helps make your babies whole again!

    2. Well, I did the same thing! I just happen to be on DDE and saw they had Ophelia again. I'm hoping I got her, as it now says sold out. I have this unfortunate tendency to buy something just after it's sold out and before it gets posted as such, so I'll have to wait for confirmation. However, I do have a Kiki pig, mousetail, and I really love her! Mine is the black and white one - she poses very nicely and is adorable. The only thing I didn't like on mine was that her head cap was stark white and stood out like a yamaka, so I used some pastel to shade it in some. Looks better now. I'll try to take a pic of her soon and post it here.

I also have an Alice Cherry Blossom and her baby sister Julia. Love them!

    3. My little ccc Ophelia may be a little whiles off, but I just had to tell you all the perfect name just struck me for her! Harriet =D

I wish all my dolls named themselves so easily.

I would love a Kiki pig myself one day, and an Alice Cherry Blossom. It's funny I have so many piggy bjd wants, I'm not really much more of a fan of pigs than any other animal.

    4. I took a strange pic of Tinsley today- I was just playing with my camera settings, I'm not too sure what I did!
A gloomy photo for a gloomy day!

    5. Ah! A gothic Tinsley. This is how she will look when her handsome but dastardly piggy lover deserts her on their wedding day and she stops all the clocks and never leaves her piggy mansion again! (Just be sure there are plenty of piggy snacks inside.)

No, no one could ever desert such a pretty piggykin.:aheartbea:aheartbea

Anyone who has not done so must IMMEDIATELY go and check out Fiatan's photostory:

      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?440512-Odette-finally-meets-Tobias-(More-Piggies)

all about Hilde, Odette and Tobias. It is the best.:D

    6. Harriet is a wonderful name, Tagi! It's very cute and fitting for her! :fangirl:

Like you, I love all kinds animals, too, but somehow seem to only have bjds that are cats and pigs so far. I have other anthro dolls but unfortunately, they're not on topic. Hope to add a bunny bjd in the future. :)

Great pic, dedjinn! Your Tinsley looks very sweet - love her dress, too! :fangirl:

Thank you very much for posting that link, psammead! Wow - what a wonderful job Fiatan did! Such adorable piggies! :D

    7. psammead Oh I love that story - one of my most favorite ones! So much pig cuteness per picture, nothing beats that :)

Cattwo Thank you, would be great to see your Kiki. Mine won't be here for another week I think, takes that long for shipping from CONUS. I'm trying to sort out an outfit for her meanwhile though, so that gives me time...

    8. I'll make every effort to find time to take a pic of my Kiki and post it for you this weekend, mousetail. Hope you find the perfect outfit for your Kiki in time for her arrival! :)

Just got Ophelia Licorice in the mail today - love her! :cheer It will be awhile before I can post pics of her, though, as she needs to "put her face on" (and her eyes in) first. If anyone has any advice to share about doing a face-up on her, I'd love to hear it! TIA! :fangirl:

    9. Oh Cattwo you're lucky! Ophelia is my favorite piggy sculpt, even though I don't even hope to get one for myself - I'll just admire her from the distance.. And from your pictures ;)

Guys, I came up with a perfect name for my Kiki :) First, I was gonna name her Buta (Japanese for pig), but then I thought that it may sound offensive to a Spanish speaker if not pronounced too clearly.. So I modified that to Buton - Russian for 'flower bud'. And then as I thought how should I explain the pronunciation of that, it dawned on me: she'll be Button. She's cute as one, that's for sure!

    10. Oh . . . Tinsley looks so mysterious . . . she has a dark secret, maybe?

Oh, thanks for the compliments on my story! It was super fun to make.
It is a bit difficult to take photos of Ophelia next to her two friends. Her dark skin sometimes ends up too dark in the photo.

I am also curious about anyone's face-up tips for her. Ophelia is currently going natural but . . .

Button is the most adorablest name for a pig!

Please everyone post your Ophelias soon!

    11. Thank you! Not to be too confessional here, but I had a very blue day on Thursday and I kept reading the story of Hilde and Tobias and Odette to make myself smile. I love them to bits!

I don't have an Ophelia, but I do have an ebony-skinned Iplehouse BID (baby doll) on the way. So I have the same problem. It's hard to get a soft and natural colouring on such dark resin. And Odette strikes me as a soft and natural girl if ever there was one.
Is Odette better now? I hardly dare ask, but I think she went away for something... medical? She's such a shy piggy she won't like such things being discussed. (But perhaps she won't see this.)

    12. Here's a pic of my Kiki for you, mousetail! As you can see, the Easter bunny isn't the only one who can hop! Here she is riding her Rody:

Love the name you picked out for yours - Button is so fitting for such a cute piggy! :)

    13. Cattwo OMG, this is such a sweet picture! Thanks a bunch for posting it for me. I love all the little toys, especially Rody - my daughter has the same, in her scale of course :)

    14. Thank you, mousetail! That's so nice that your daughter has a Rody, too - bet she looks even cuter on hers! Here's hoping your little Button will be home with you soon! :daisy

    15. Button's here! (does happy dance)

Regretfully, she doesn't pose very well yet - cannot figure out if the stirings are too loose or too tight, gotta experiment with it a bit. We'll still have a box opening post (I took pictures), and hope I can get her in shape for proper introduction here ASAP!

The eyes she came with are an amazing shade of green, but I think I need to get a couple more pairs for a change. Cattwo, could you tell me what size they are?

    16. Congratulations, mousetail! :cheer Glad to hear that Button arrived safely and I hope you're able to adjust her pose-ability to where you want it to be! Mine was fine right out of the box, but I have had problems with other tinies before. Sometimes all it takes is a little experimenting, as you said. Then you can figure out just what needs to be done. I wish you the best of luck with that and hope you'll be able to share a pic of her soon! :fangirl:

As to the eye size, I've never changed the eyes on my Kiki, but according to Dollfactory's specifications for her, on their site, it says she wears 14 mm. That's what I just bought for my new Ophelia Licorice and they do appear to be the same size. I actually bought 3 pairs, since I didn't know what color would look best for her. They all look pretty good, even the free extra pair they sent. It was a surprise to me because I've had the toughest time buying the right color eyes for my Catsy cats. Kind of funny to think a black pig is easier to buy eyes for than a white cat - go figure!

    17. Yay! Muja! We missed you and Banbhan. Have you seen all the lovely new piggies? Many new friends!

    18. Thank you very much for sharing that link, MuJa! Those face-ups are amazing, aren't they?! Absolutely gorgeous! Miriam is very talented! I'm probably going to try and keep the face-up on my Ophelia as simple as possible, since I'm not very experienced and I figure that if I keep things simple maybe it will be harder for me to mess up. That's my hope anyway. But boy, I sure wish I had Miriam's talent! :fangirl:

    19. Miriam, otherwise Sweetly Twisted, was Charles Stephan's face up artist for a while -- or at least she did many, many face ups on Charles's dolls. I think her face ups on Bubus were particularly wonderful. (Muja, have I got that right?)
