1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Omg... I actually got PERMISSION!

Jan 10, 2006

1. My mom and dads reaction was pretty much as follows;

Mom: "Not drugs, is it?"
Me: "....no."
Dad: "Not some kind of weird blow up doll?"
Me: "No!"
Mom: "Your money."

six months later....

Mom: "Oh god, he has a penis!"
Dad: ".....*poke*"
Me: "Dad!"

2. Actually my parents have been way cool about it. Well, Parent. At first my mom was all for it, as long as I paid for it, and didn't tell my dad about it till it was here. He doesn't like me spending money. :P Just recently though, my mom was asking about the prices of the doll(s) I have been looking at. I really didn't think much about it then, yesterday she told me if i could earn the first 200$ before Christmas, she would pay the rest!! I am so stoked! My Dad really hasn't said anything though, which worries me.

3. my parents were pretty against BJDs. it wasn't until i told my mom about wanting to make my own clothes for my doll, and possibly my own dolls, that she opened up to it.

it took a lot more convincing from my dad. i was going to do it anyways, but he deffinitly gave me a hard time about it. i guess when he realized that i had been thinking about this for two years he realized i wasn't playing around and that i was serious.

XD

4. First of all grats! I totally understand though, I had to work on my parents for a year and then still buy mine myself! But it's worth it I think! ^^

5. Well that's cool ^^ the best of luck to you.

My mum has been behind me and rather amused with my new found love for these dolls..I can't say the same for my dad sadly...>3 I'm hoping he will change his mind when my boy is ordered and gets here.

6. my parents thought they were beautiful from the start but thought the pricing was rediculous. But when they saw me getting a job especially for the doll they warmed up to it because I was actually willing to pay the price ^^

7. Yeah... I remember, when I first saw DoC SI, my immediate reaction was that of awe. I waited a week or so, then shyly brought the idea up to my dad. He took one look at the doll, and then another at the price tag- "you're paying that much for THAT?!" u___u;

So I kept the idea in the back of my mind until a couple months later, when I saw a Mythdoll Yue on sale in the marketplace. I loved the mold, she was much more mature, and she was about half the price of what the SI would have cost straight from the company with shipping. My dad seemed a little bit more comforable with this, so he let me go ahead and buy her. And I'm very glad I did. :)

8. My parents are completely against it and think im nuts!
they think that i am obsessive over things and when i get what i want i just move onto the next thing.. well.... what kid doesnt!? lol

9. I'm lucky enough to have a supportive mother and grandmother, even. My grandma is a professional artist, she loves fairies and elves and such, and when I introduced her to BJD's she also fell in love with them. I dont know how but she managed to get me my Hana Angel doll, the first doll I ever fell in love with. ^___^
This christmas she hinted to me that I'm probably getting a kid delf Ani model. <3 I'm soooo excited.

And as for my dad...
I dont think he cares much. Everytime I bring these dolls up he always mentions something about Barbies being cheaper, but whatever. >.>

10. My dad said the exact same thing to me. xD;
Every doll ive bought, ive bought behind his back xD;

too bad i dont live with my mom, when i told her about them she thought they were pretty and neat and liked em xD;

11. They just don't understand that we don't own the dolls... the dolls own us. xD Damn obsession!

12. If anything my parents were concerned about me buying one. Im 17 and live alone and dont have that much money. Im using my Xmas and Birthday money for Adrian, and my mum was upset cos she wanted me to spend it on something like clothes for myself. But they know they cant stop me ^^;

13. oh i so know this phrase!

In accordance to my mum if the obsession continues i would become a 'slave to the dolls' like 'slave to designer gear'

Well it's not going to stop me bringing my older twin home ^^ I've been planning the twins before Cain so i need to have the other half.

They still don't approve, we just don't mention it anymore. I did tell them i would at least get another body so they know another big one would be coming (i just thought i would leave out getting the head :P it hurts less both ways, it's only an exxtra $75 to get a full doll than a body so economically it's better to get a full)

14. Isn't your mum helping to pay for it anymore?! That sucks!

15. Theyre giving me my Xmas and birthday money in one, and thats it. SO technically they are, but they take no responability xD

16. Atleast yours help :| I'm scared to tell my parents I want more... they still don't know the real price of Echo...

17. I live away from home, they have no control over what I do with my money anymore lol. Mwahahahaha

18. My dad doesnt know about my Cherry coming home. But he is quite supportive and even helps me decide whether I should get certain ones or not. My mother on the other hand...well that's a complete different story. She still thinks Jazz is the only one :sweat

19. >< i kinda feel bad in the way that my parents are quite supportive of the hobby, they dont like or care for it as such but they dont mind the fact of 2 or more to come dolls ><, although they told me im not allowed to buy more untill i can drive ¬¬

stripey_dani: My parents said they will hold no responsiblity, they wired the money for me in their account but told me if anything happens then or when it arrives they do not care ><

solitary_mushroom: aw >< maybe with time they will grow used to echo being there and not mind so much?

20. vampire-valentine: Thanks :) it's just I've never really talked to them about manga and anime and being a general nerd so I feel weird about it and I know they'll just think the dolls are laaaame and it'll upset me so I don't really feel like trying :sweat
They don't mind, I don't think, they just don't really want to be a part in my freak show
