1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

One doll is good enough!....or Is it?

Oct 22, 2009

    1. I thought that I'd always just want a YOSD back when I first discovered Volks (in 2005). Hikaru ended up coming home instead (he's a Volks MSD). Now there's also Uruko (finally a tiny 4 years later!!).

I hope I don't find myself desiring an SD13 size boy (or at least I hope I can resist~!!)

It definitely makes me think that its impossible to only have just one though...:|

    2. It was only one a year ago, now soon it is ten :huh?:

    3. Hello everyone!

I am hopefully receiving my first doll sometime this month :)... I already know there are other sculpts I'd love to own, but I don't see myself ever having as many dolls as many members here do. I would just be so caught up in completing the one I will have!

In fact, I don't think I've seen anyone here so far who has only one doll! Are any of you out there? Why only one? And for those who have more than five, why so many? It's very interesting to me!

      ^_^

    4. Well...I'm an owner with only one (full) doll ^^; I have a Crobidoll SW Lance, and a SDF Summery 09' event head >< I've been planning to get him a body, but...that won't be happening so soon, even though I've had him for a while now, hehe XD I only have one full dolly because I guess I don't really have alot of money, and I don't want to keep asking my parents too much...Also it's really tempting not to spoil your single doll with gifts, clothes, and accesories(maybe this is why I could never get another body for my other doll ><...)! I really love BJDs and like many others on the forums, if I had all the money in the world, I'd buy all the dollies I've always wanted and dreamed of :3 --oh! and I hope your dolly will be arriving soon, congrats~! ^ ^

    5. It's my problem for the moment: I have one doll, my first doll, and now I'm searching for a MSD friend for my Mei (poor girl, she is lonely ), and maybe a tiny, because it's so cute isn't it?
      I'm lost, help me... ;)

    6. *Sigh.* I have always known I'd never have just one of anything. BJDs are no exception. Like Milky Tea, bjds aren't my major hobby either- but that absolutely doesn't mean that I don't want something approaching 30 of them XD I've always had groups of dolls- as a kid, I was-ahem- spoiled rotten, so I regularly had 30 or so dolls hanging out in my room, and I played with ALL of them- together, ALL the time. So when I started BJD collecting, I knew my poor wallet would pay the ultimate price. Even though my other hobbies are also just as expensive- (you try buying art supplies these days!) I manage to sort of... make it all work ^__^ it means I'm broke nearly 95% of the time, but I have a great time when I get home!

    7. One doll is NEVER good enough. Even IF you swear to get just this one after staring at the large amount of cash you spent.

      Nope. NOT ENOUGH.

    8. I've been doing okay with the one doll I got although it is a trial in finding her outfits due to the odd proportions. I'd love to get rid of the event head that came with her though ^^;; as it is I have no use for that extra SD doll head, as my doll is a MSD. Plus ... it's enough having the doll for me considering the expenses.

    9. There's one I really want but once I get it and everything for it I want two more, and that's my limit XD;
I'm not big on having a lot of one thing where I can lose stuff @_@

    10. I think I wanted 3...Mike, Aiden, and King. I got Mike and Aiden pretty quickly in the same year, and King was ordered that year....that was 2005. I have nearly 50 now!

    11. Juuuuust updating my status as still one-doll! XD I'm doing pretty good so far!

For me, I don't know, I'm just not that interested in owning another doll. I haven't seen one I oh-my-god-need-to-have, and until that happens I'm not buying.

I am thinking about buying another doll--but as a present for a friend, not to keep for myself.

    12. I thought one doll would be good enough! Then I saw my first SD. Then I got my first tiny. Now I'm waiting on number 6 and wondering just what happened! I am debating selling my SD though, so maybe I'll try to hover around 5 for a bit.

    13. Everyone I know in the hobby admits to having said that at the outset. It never lasts.

    14. it took me a year to be able to get my first one (still isnt here yet), so i thought when hes finally here i will be happy enough. well it started that with i originally wanted a girl, but then bought a boy because i really liked him. so now i still need to buy a girl because i really want one, let alone for the dresses and long hair. so already planning my second while my first isnt even here yet :)

    15. Man...Ive been avoiding DOA and dolls like the plague since my friend gave up the hobby. I never wanted a doll... or I never wanted to admit it. I peeked at this site a week ago and discovered RS Long. Within a day I knew I had to have him. He is on his way now and I've already found 3 more from the same company I must have! I think it is impossible to have just one! I wouldn't have even admitted to wanting one before and now, not only do I need those Rs dolls, I need to bring back to life my old friends boy because years ago...secretly...i was in love with him. Yep, up to 5 and my first isn't even here yet! HELP ME!

    16. I also said "just one", I'm up to four now, and still wanting more! I also have a "shoe fetish", I love buying shoes for my dolls, and clothes, and wigs.........

    17. I was the same... I wanted just one doll... It seemed like an awful lot to fork out, so I just told myself -- one doll.
And now I've bought my second...and am dreaming of a third...

    18. It depends``But i really can't help fall in love with some other dolls``

    19. I think it could be enough, if you are really satisfied with one doll that you really love, it´s okay, but i think this world is really big and there are a lot of molds, so it´s possible that you can see something more that you really liked too.

I think it´s very hard to have only one doll in this world with a such lot quantity of molds to choose.
